Review for Daydreams-Melody
Right of the bat, I would recommend you change your theme so reading could be a lot easier. Your theme is nice, but it doesnât properly space paragraphs so everything looks mushed up and itâs quite difficult to read.
This is what I wrote after I read: âRisk It {Rating: K}â
Now off to your writing: youâre good. I really liked your writing, you really go with flow of things and thatâs good because it doesnât seem fake but it makes it look like something that you could imagine, though you have a couple grammar mistakes.
But he never would choose ⊠the girl in sneakers, t-shirt and that is in a band, all boys prefer girls in high heels, with elegantly proportioned bodies in a super feminine beautiful dress that is from some well known brand that all other girls envied, with her hair perfectly aligned without even a strand out of place, perfect makeup and long manicured nailsâŠ.
Another way of writing this without making any grammatical mistakes would be:
But he would never choose the girl in the sneakers, t-shirts, and thatâs in the band. All the boys prefer girls in high heels, with perfect proportioned bodies, and in feminine dresses thatâs from some well known brand that all the other girls envy, with her hair perfectly made without a strand out of place, perfect make-up, and manicured nails.
You have pretty minor mistakes that can be easily read through, but sometimes itâs really confusing. I noticed you overly use ellipsis (âŠ), and thatâs actually really bad, because you should only use ellipsis when your characters are wondering something or when theyâre trailing off in a sentence. You tend to overuse them at un-necessary points in a paragraph or a sentence.
Other then your other grammatical mistakes are: âdo notâ âcould notâ âwill notâ âcan notâ âthat isâ âI amâ, instead of using all of those you can use âdonâtâ âcouldnâtâ âwonâtâ âcanâtâ âthatâsâ âIâmâ. Because a lot of times reading cannot, do not, could not, I am, really interrupts with the flow of the story and sometimes it makes reading scenarios, stories, chapters, etc⊠rather awkward.
After reading: âWithout you. {Rated: M}â
First thing:Â I wouldnât consider this rated âMâ, I would say itâs more T+, if it were more detailed and a lot more bloody then I would rate âMâ, but since it involves suicide and deaths I would say âT+â.
You really had the same mistakes in this one that you had in your last scenario, but you used less ellipsis then last time, and that was good.
One thing I noted; was that you didnât exactly say why or how the âyouâ character died. That was lack of thinking the scenario out, which is a rookie mistake, but itâs passible.
And by written the scenario in 1st POV (I)  but adding 2nd POV (You), it made kind of confusing because when you started using âIâ I thought that that was the female character, and when you used âYouâ I got pretty confused until a doctor came out. You really should explain that in the Author Note at the beginning of the scenario.
Other then I just found minor grammatical mistakes, such as âI look at you for the last time on that hospital roomâ instead of using âonâ it should be âinâ âI look at you for the last time in that hospital roomâ. Other then you really should look out with word placements, any little word thatâs misplaced can throw off a whole paragraph.
Other then word placement and grammar, I didnât find anything else, but this scenario was really good, I liked it a lot.
After reading: âOne Night Rideâ {Rated; âMAâ}
Like last time the rating on this one was also off, this is smut, itâs not intense smut so this was actually meant to be rated âMâ.
Iâll be straight Iâm not really al that keen on reading smut, since Iâm as pure as they come, so Iâm really just gonna pick on your sentence on this one, really show you were your grammatical mistakes are.
Instead of; âI have waited to found you.â It should have been; âIâve been waiting to find youâ. Â
Instead of; âtrying to keep my composure I broke the visual contact with him looking back to the window.â It should have been: Â âtrying to keep my composure I broke eye contact with him by looking back at the window.â Â
Instead of âI realized that he was different from everyone else and unintentionally blurted out of my mouth, my conclusion.â It should have been: âI realize that he was different from anyone else, and I unintentionally blurted out my realization.â
Instead of; âThe kiss was so intense that it made me almost faint, if he hadnât separated our mouths in time.â It should have been: âThe kiss was so intense I almost fainted, if he hadnât broken it in time.â
On a small note before I continue âvaginal fluidsâ isnât really a word, the correct word you were looking for is âcumâ. And also there was really one word I couldnât comprehend what is exactly is âclitorisâ? I think that could be a word, but definitively not one Iâve ever heard of before.
Here those were just about all the grammar mistakes. The vampire thing, a little clichĂ©d, but some people somehow really liked that, personally I really donât get it but hell a lot of people are in to that kinky shit. So I have to say: cutouts to you on that part.
I canât really tell you if the smut itself was good, because I donât read smut, I follow some blogs that write but I donât read them because Iâm not all that comfortable with it so in a way I kind skimmed through the smut, but all the details before and after I read thoroughly so I have to apologized to you on that.
Okay now Iâm just going to generalize everything because the few mistakes you make are repetitive.
Youâre going to be an amazing writer, youâre really good right now, and youâre on a really good track. What you need to is really work on your grammar and your contractions (canât, donât, wonât, shouldn't, Iâm, youâre,  we've, youâve, heâs, sheâs etcâŠ). You also tend to repeat words a lot.
So I would recommend for you: get a thesaurus, grammar book, and a dictionary. I also recommend using âMicrosoft Officeâ if you donât want to buy it go on to skydrive.com on that website you can use word, open, note and other Microsoft programs for free. Â
For a none native English speaker (even though Iâm no a native speaker myself) if I have to say your spelling is impressive, you have big words down and you also have little words down too, sometimes you donât place commaâs (,) where they should go but you donât overuse them like some people. Also check on your punctuation, and donât go crazy on the ellipsis.
I can tell youâve been writing for a while now, not English but in your main tongue. Your writing is extensive and detailed. Usually when most writer start out their writing is choppy, very short, and not all that well thought out, but you can tell whose going to be an amazing writer and whose going to be well⊠Theyâll have another talent lying around, but writing isnât it.
Anyways back to you: with writing you either got it, or you donât. Â You got it, you really just need to go hard on your grammar, because thatâs your only real mistake, once you improve your grammar, youâll be an amazing writer. Another tip: read a lot.
Now for the final score: (first how Iâll get to score)
Flow â If you can read it without having to stop at an awkward moment
Easy to read â this has to do with your theme, because some thing mush things up or the font is really small and itâs hard to read
Characterization â if the characters are acting similar to the way they really act
Enjoyable â when I read scenario or anything I want to enjoy myself, and I usually know if I am going to enjoy myself by the first paragraph
Grammar: 5 â 1O (You need to work a lot on this)
Punctuation: 7 â 1O (Those ellipsis really killed you on this one)
Flow: 8 â 1O (If it werenât for your grammar you wouldâve gotten a 1O â 1O)
Easy to read: 6 â 1O (Your themeâs font is really small and it mushes everything together, so it makes it really hard to read)
Characterization: 9 â 1O (You write Optional Bias, thatâs really hard because you have to keep him pretty vague and you did just that. And you did it perfectly, but you really fell out with the âyouâ character)
Creativity: 9 â 1O (Youâre really creative at times, but on other you really fall down sometimes)
