“Do I look tired or something?” Y/n questioned scrunching her eyebrows at Juhoon.
“Just want to know.” He answered, shrugging his shoulders.
“Like one? One thirty?”
“Okay. How much time from you getting home and going to sleep did you spend revising that letter? Or were you just doom scrolling?” Juhoon asked, taking another bite of his burger.
“Pardon.”
“Well are you gonna answer or..”
Y/N stared at him, a blank expression on her face. “I did spend a little time on the letter.”
“Which version do you have on you right now?”
“Both.”
“Which one are you planning on giving to him?”
“Which one do you think Juhoon.”
“If you’re planning on giving him the version where you dont confess, why do you have the other?”
A silence falls between them. Their gaze never parting.
“I dont know.”
“Some part of you does.”
“You know what else I dont know?” Y/N asked, adjusting in the passenger seat to face Juhoon. “Why are you so adement on me giving him that letter?”
“Because I'm tired of you guys pining over eachother; thinking we can't tell. And dont even get me started on the jealousy.” Juhoon groaned throwing his head back. “Do you understand how annoying it is to hear Martin grumbling under his breath everytime he thinks you’re overly friendly with a guy?”
“He doesn't do that.”
“Oh yeah, out of all people you would know wouldn't you?”
“What is that supposed to mean.”
“You're too afraid to acknowledge whenever anyone has any sort of attraction towards you.” Juhoons tone had changed, no longer harsh and confrontational. “Why? What are you so afraid of.”
“Im not afraid of anything.”
“Y/N please. You're one of my closest friends, I love you, I care about you, and I observe you. I know you're afraid of something and I have a brief idea of what it might be, but I can't deem those assumptions true without you.”
The dreaded silence from earlier resumes. Y/N staring straight ahead at the air bag infront of her. Not wanting to look anywhere near Juhoon.
“What if he doesn't actually like me and is just really really nice. Or what if I dont actually like him and I only like the idea of him or the attention he gives me. What if I read myself wrong, and I mess everything up. Juhoon I'd rather have him platonically than not have him at all.”
“Come here.” Juhoon opened his arms for Y/N to lean on, wrapping them around her to comfort her. “You're doubting yourself. And I know, even if any of what you think, is true, Martin would never hold that against you. Sometimes people are more different then they thought. But I've been watching you two for years. I realized you had a crush on Martin before you did. There are some risks you have to take or else you'll regret it for who knows how long, and I think this is one of them. Im not here to tell you that you have to tell him today. I just needed to know what was going on in your head and if I could help. Okay?”
Y/n nodded her head not making a sound.
“Okay.” Juhoon nodded his head, patting Y/n’s arm. “Now finish your burger so we can get to his party.”
“Do you think we could go back in for milk shakes?”
“Eat your burger.”

I studied for lile 6 hours straight yesterday + like 2 and a half today before the exam its not even funny. Frankenstein, Wuthering Heights, Their Eyes Were Watching God, and Beloved better be my goats tomorrow. And i swear if that prose passage or prompt is stupid, im gonna loose it.

"Yeah actually. You got my food?" Y/n asked smiling up at Martin.
"Right here." He smiled, tossing the container in the air. "And I got you a spork from the lunch line."
"Youre a saint." She said, opening up the container and taking a bite of her lunch. "We're gonna walk back to the folk room right now. Do you wanna come with?"
"Yeah sure." He nodded, sliding his hands into his pockets. "I can take care of your stuff while you change."
"You're such a sweetie pie thank you." She smiled up at him, taking a bite of her food. "Do you want some?"
"No, I'm good, you need it." He shook his head.
"Are you gonna do anything later?"
"My parents said they might take me to dinner." Martin shrugged and nugged Y/N to walk. "Youre welcome to come."
"I wouldn't want your parents to spend their money on me."
"They dont mind. Trust me. I think my mom likes you more than she likes me honestly."
"Well yeah, thats my bestie."
Martin rolled his eyes playfully as Y/N began to giggle.
"I'll check with my mom to see if I can go. What time are you guys going to dinner?"
"They said maybe around seven."
"Oh thank god I'll be able to take this makeup off." Y/N sighed as they came to a stop outside of the classroom. "If I get a yes from my mom i can give you your gift later. I might also need a ride from you guys. Unless maybe I get dropped off at your house."
"Whichever one will be fine I'm sure." He nodded his head, reaching his hand out.
"Alright! I'll be back soon." Y/N said, placing her lunch container in Martin's hands before shuffling into the classroom.
As Martin waited outside the classroom, he decided to back up against the wall and scroll on his phone in order to not take up space.
“Ay, when are you asking her out?”
“Eh? Never what the fuck are you talking about.”
