Hermes' heart is beating fast. He arrives in a meadow, with trees covered in light garlands. He is dressed in white clothes with red and yellow embroideries, brown leather wing sandals, a golden crown and a red cloak. Upon hearing some voices, he turned around, and saw several familiar faces, dressed in white as well, wearing some gold jewels, and smiling at him: Brunhilde along with her husband Siegfried. There was also Athena, his favourite sister, who cast him a determinate glare, next to her their friend Perseus, whose gaze showed nothing but support, and Hera, who was serenely smiling at him.
Turning around, he saw a red headed man dressed in white as well, with golden bracelets on his arms and wrists. His hair had jewels and a golden laurel crown on top. Behind him stood several persons with similar outfits, but with fewer ornaments.
'Everyone, and especially you, Hermes, welcome!...' the red head man said. 'I am Apollo, (Name)'s last boyfriend' he ceremoniously said, one hand on his chest and the other held out. 'I see you have your court, here is mine.' he added, gesturing at the five persons behind him.
They were his twin sister, Artemis, his second favourite sister, Aphrodite, his best friend Python, and two other friends, Leonidas and GeirĂślul.
'For those who wonder why we are all gathered here, Hermes here desires something, or should I say, someone, who cannot be his. Unless I allow it, and I will not.' he said the last word looking right in Hermes' eyes. The latter sighed.
'And why should I care about what you allow and do not?'
'It is simple, my Friend, I still live in (Name)'s mind, and as long as I do, it goes without saying she is mine.' he answered as if was patiently explaining something to a child.
'But I don't want this!' someone loudly said.
Everyone turned around. Here you were, wearing a white tunic as well. Hermes felt his cheeks burn and heart beating even faster. You were gorgeous, the clothing highlighted perfectly your curves, you had a silver necklace with emeralds. Your hair was pulled back in a loose braid with golden threads intertwined.
Both of you had the same reflex, to rush towards the other. But in an instant, Apollo was facing you, and his five friends were facing Hermes, blocking the way. Apollo grabbed your hand.
'My Dear, I do not make the rules.' he said with a cheerful voice before adding with a teasing smile. 'Actually, it kind of looks like yours. Why else would that poor soul undergo all of this otherwise?'
You were at a loss for words, and lowered your head. But at the moment you wanted to admit your ex was right, Hermes approached you. His so-called court had helped him push away Apollo's, and he was now by your side.
'I know.' Hermes said with a gentle gaze and a soft voice. 'You want to be with me, but you are afraid. But I am not like them, (Name). I will not constantly yell at you, weaponize my suffering, refuse to take your opinion into account, put you second because of my work, consider you inferior, be cold to you... '
He gently grabbed you by your waist with one hand and caressed your cheek with the other. You melted at the contact and smiled.
Apollo interrupted you with a chuckle.
'Neither would I, (Name). Furthermore, do you remember what you gained thanks to me? You cannot leave just like that.'
Furious and triggered, you turned your head and glared at him.
'Yes I can! All your attention and praises mean nothing if you cannot be faithful!' You spat with rancor.
'This is something we can work out.' Apollo said, raising his hands as if he wanted to mediate.
'No!' you said again, louder, firmer, before gazing at Hermes again. 'I choose peace of mind. I choose you.' you said with a sweet smile.
'Yet here we still are.' Apollo noted, shrugging.
'Then I accept whatever trial you will come up with.' Hermes said, looking right through Apollo's eyes before looking back at you, with a softer expression.
Your ex cocked a brow. 'Very well then. I challenge you to... A duel of lyre!'
As he finished his sentence, two golden lyres appeared in the air, each close to the two challengers. Both men grabbed their respective instrument. They inspected the objects, before staring at each other with a defiant expression.
Apollo was the one who started playing. He chose to play all of the Brandenburg Concertos, swaying and dancing in the process. His sisters and friends were cheering and clapping, which encouraged him even more. When he was done, he provocatively glanced at Hermes, as a sign that it was his turn.
With a cheerful and serene smile, Hermes stared at him, accepting his silent taunt, and began to play Air on the G string. Siegfried and Perseus were surprised by his outstanding performance, while Brunhilde and Athena knowingly grinned. Hera closed her eyes and swayed to the melody. Apollo's sisters and friends were surprised by Hermes' virtuosity.
After he resumed playing, he saluted Apollo and his people. And when everyone thought he was finished, he raised his head and confidently smiled before playing again. This time, it was 40 Sinfonie by Mozart. Everyone, his enemies included, was mesmerized by his skills. His eyes were closed, he was still smiling, his fingers expertly pinched the strings. When he was through, he bowed deeply again.
However, Hermes was far from done. As he rose, he began to play again, and chose the Danse Macabre by Saint-SaĂŤns. This time, Hermes was not smiling anymore, and kept his focus on the strings. Then, to his allies' surprise, Apollo and Aphrodite started to sway to the rhythm. At first discreetly, then more and more vibrant as the music went on. Artemis widened her eyes upon seeing this, then turned around and saw Leonidas and GeirĂślul swaying as well, though not as much as the two others.
When he was done, this time, Hermes raised his head and stared at Apollo. Several violins appeared out of nowhere and began to play Apotheosis by Stravinsky. The latter widened his eyes and stared at his foe in pure shock, before collapsing, without a word. This was his silent surrender.
With a satisfied smile, Hermes turned his gaze towards you. Here you were, grinning and glowing literally and figuratively. Both of you marched towards each other before sealing the end of these tribulations with a passionate kiss. When you parted, Hermes cupped your face and looked at you in pure adoration.
Three years later
Dear Brunhilde, we hope you are doing well. Please find here a gift for little Aslaug, and a cordial invitation to our wedding, which is set on June 21st at 11 at...
Brunhilde widened her eyes upon reading her old friend's letter, barely paying attention to the giant stuffed rabbit she would later give to her daughter. Hopefully my Greek is not too rusty, she thought. Plus it has been so long, why not go there.

The penultimate round. Hermes cannot help but smile at the mere thought. Now he finds himself in a completely white valley. The howling wind is bringing some more snow and makes it twirl. Here and there some fir trees can be spotted.
Then before Hermes' eyes appear a man. He is short, his face is masked but his eyes and what is likely a scar can be seen. The man wears a full length white winter coat and boots, but Hermes cannot help but notice on his clothes, it looks like there are thin white veils that look like they are made of billions of snowflakes put together.
The man stoically introduces him as Simo Häyhä, and dares him to reach his place if he can. Hermes silently nodds, and without further ado, Simo vanishes.
Hermes begins his walk. In a similar fashion to his current opponent's, he wears a long white coat with wool lining and big winter boots he is not used to, as the northernmost place he has been to was Stratford-upon-Avon. The walk is strange, to him it feels more like dipping his feet and ankles in the snow. But he has little time to adjust, as he suddenly feels trumendous pain on his neck. Simo, hidden somewhere, is shooting at him.
Hermes sighs in pain and does his best to hide. But another bullet reaches his hand. Starting to panic, Hermes looks for a shelter. There is none to speak of, but he sees a small mount, maybe one meter tall and runs to hide behind it. In the process, he gets another shot in the thigh. Restraining himself from cursing, he lies behind the small mount.
To make it more complicated, the wind begins to blow harder and gets colder. A muffled sound gets Hermes' attention. One of Simo's unforgiving shots, blocked by this snowy protection. Hermes inspects his wounds. They are not deep, but the blows to come will likely make some more serious damage to him the more he gets closer. Then another muffled bullet noise. Then another. Then another, which makes the mount begin to crack.
'Jesus Christ...' Hermes muttered.
He barely finished his sentence that he saw snow moving, as if something was crawling. Surprised, he repeated himself. This time, the snow takes the form of an arm with something that vaguely looks like a hand. Understanding what he can and has to do, Hermes sits up.
'Our Father who art in Heaven...'
A small, snowy figure rose from the snowy ground. Hermes carries on to recite the prayer, and starts to move forward. The more he goes on, the more figures arrive, taller, more precise. They have a human form, some wings. At first five, the number grows until they are enough to make a garrison. They circled Hermes and shield him from the snow and Simo's shots. Hermes keeps chanting Our Father, Hail Mary, and all the prayers he can remember. Finally, he spots a small red house.
When he enters the house, the angelic figures stop themselves, wave altogether, before disappearing. Inside, Simo is nowhere in sight. Hermes goes in several rooms ; the inside of the house is bigger than the outskirts suggested. On the ground can be seen several decorations, set in the wooden ground.
Suddenly, Hermes hears your voice. You plead Simo, urge him to talk to you. You confess your admiration for his resilience, his seriousness, you tell him you feel that is what was missing in your life. An anchor, a rock.
But Simo's voice interrupts yours, low, calm and unbothered. He has estimated he cannot be that person to you. He finds happiness in simple things, hiking, hunting, tending to his dogs. He knows this is not your world and that he cannot oblige you to live like this. The conclusion is simple, direct: both of you parting ways is the natural outcome.
His words are met with deep sobs. Hermes cannot accept that, he wants to find you, to comfort you. He keeps going until he finds a white room. It is mainly filled with a frozen lake with beautiful snowflakes glowing on the thin ice. In its center, it is broken, and the pieces formed some more gorgeous snowflakes floating on the surface.
There stood Simo, the rifle still in hand. He acknowledges Hermes' presence with a slow, long nod. Then, as if he had read Hermes' mind, he adds: 'She is not there, but you will find her soon. Move forward.'
Hermes complies and marches towards him. He steps on one of the snowflakes, which leads him where the owner of the house is standing. Once they are face to face, Hermes gazes down and Simo lifts his head and holds his gaze.
He then turns around and they resume crossing the frozen lake. Once they have reached the icy bank, Simo walks towards a door which was not there before. He opens it, a clear, wordless invitation for Hermes. In the door frame stands one remaining silhouette.

For the fifth trial, Hermes finds himself at the bottom of a mountain. He looks up and sees a shining light at the top. Then he notices a figure below. The man jumps and lands a few meters down, but still above Hermes. He proudly introduces him as Qin Shi Huang, (Name)'s fifth boyfriend and where Hermes' quest ends.
Hermes cocks a brow then says he has not been through all of this to stop right there. Qin lets out a small laugh then tells him unless he manages to reach the top of the mountain, and defeat him, this will not be possible. And that he would obviously make it impossible to do so.
Hermes playfully smiles and just says 'Shall we start then?'
Qin laughs at what he regards as boldness, but adds those insolent words would not go unpunished, without disappearing.
Hermes lets out a small sigh before starting his ascension. He is not used to climbing, so the first steps are him making sure he has steady bases. His grip is strong, his legs are tensed by the focus.
As he gets used to the ascension, he eventually feels the sunlight and fresh breeze again. The top is still far, but a short glance below shows him what he has done so far.
He barely has time to smile as an arrow pierced the air, close to his ear, before disappearing in the void. Hermes widened his eyes and looked up. Some more arrows arrive. Thankfully, the aim is approximate.
Hermes manages to protect himself, then, by making a random movement, he finds out he can command the rock: the one above his head moves forward and shields him from a flow of arrows.
This new setting allows a good defense, and even makes the grip on the mountain easier. But this cannot last forever, so Hermes takes a risk. He looks at where the arrows come from. He cannot see Qin, but the crossbow which shoots an infinity of arrows.
Hermes takes a deep breath, makes a move which separate several stones from the mountain and throws them in the air, aiming at the crossbow.
They are too small and the aiming is not accurate enough. So he tried bigger, with less ammunition and repeated it. Better. With a sweaty smile, Hermes creates three more and manipulates them in the air. They successfully destroy the crossbow.
Finally, Hermes reaches the spot where the crossbow was, and goes past. He keeps a steady rhythm, sometimes helping himself with the rock moving ability.
But as if it was a sign it was too easy, suddenly Hermes ears a sound, as if knives were clashing. He raised his head and barely has the time to create a rock roof to protect him from the swords Qin is pouring out.
Hermes sighs, but notices that unlike the arrows who were shot one by one and had different paths, the swords are like a cascade. So he takes a deep breath, creates himself a bigger step so that he stands there on his two feet, three walls for extra support, then he takes his time to strengthen his roof, then clenches his fists and lifts them in the air.
This proved to be effective and the cabin ascends quickly. But the more time passes, the more swords fall. Hermes notices the swords still damage his roof. He does his best to keep it together, his instinct tells him if he stops, there may be even more swords that would destroy his cabin.
The focus makes him sweat hard, but is proven effective, as he manages to see he has almost reached the top. With one last movement, the cabin gains speed and suddenly, they are above the top. Swiftly, Hermes casts away the rock walls and lands on the plateau, facing a smiling Qin Shi Huang.
The latter has shiny black armor and a spear. Hermes lowers his eyes and sees a halberd. 'I feel generous, I will let you have that, and let you try - he put the emphasis on this word with a smirk - to touch me.'
Hermes quickly grabs the weapon, and immediately strikes with his weapon. 'I do not worry too much, as you were unable to hit me with any of your weapons.'
Qin dodges and smiles. 'You know, this is different this time, you will not be able to defend yourself with some earth magic tricks. This-' he interrupted himself before striking his foe and hurting his shoulder, '...is more physical.'
Hermes restrains himself from cursing. Qin attacks again and Hermes has a hard time: the spear's strikes are both powerful and fast, and maintain him mid range. But fortunately, the blade of the halberd is thicker and heavier, which allows a good deflection of Qin's blows.
Slowly but surely, Hermes manages to block the spear's strikes, then aims at Qin's right leg, who loses his balance. Hermes uses this time to destroy the wooden shaft by putting all his might in his stomp, he then grabs the tip and throws it away. But Qin manages to regain some balance and punches Hermes' jaw.
Qin also breaks the shaft of his enemy's weapon. However, Hermes still has in his hand its upper part with the blade. Now that Qin is close, Hermes lungs at him with what he has left of the halberd and strikes every spot he can. Arms, belly, chest, neck, until the armor crumbles.
The shock of the strikes makes Qin lose his balance and collapse. In a last furious, raging blow, Hermes pierces his left shoulder, nailing him to the ground.
'So?' Hermes says, panting heavily. Qin gives him a painful smile. 'Fair enough, this is the end.' Then another voice can be heard. Yours, this time. You are crying and speaking to Qin Shi Huang. You tell him he makes you feel worthless, incapable of taking care of anything.
'If I cannot be your equal, we have nothing to do together.' your voice sadly concludes. Still panting and exhausted, Hermes then raises his gaze and sees two silhouettes.

For this fourth trial, Hermes finds himself in a spacious lab with windows that reach the ceiling. The sun is up, and a tall, handsome man in a suit appears. He enthusiastically introduces himself as Nikola Tesla, (Name)'s fourth boyfriend from her academic years.
Hermes' stare does not leave Tesla, and his mind gets ready for anything. In response, his opponent does not attack at all. Instead, he rushes to a table where an induction motor is displayed, and starts working on it. At some point, he raise his head and asks Hermes to assist him.
The latter cocks a brow, but nevertheless complies. As he arrives at Tesla's level, a loud noise can be heard. Right where Hermes was previously standing, a bronze orthodox cross had fallen. Tesla giggles and tells Hermes it was a sign he had to come, and enthusiastically starts to explain what he needs from him.
This carries on for what feels like hours, and for several other devices: an electric generator, a rotary converter, then the infamous Tesla coil. For all of these, Hermes dutifully listens, asks valid questions, even shares Tesla's enthusiasm.
But as time goes by, Hermes feels energy leaving him. His limbs get sore, his muscles tense. Another time he takes more time to follow Tesla, another cross falls close to where he was a few moments ago and injures his shoulder. Tesla shrugs and grabs Hermes' arm to lead him to the next experience.
Hermes yanks back his arm to tend to his bruised shoulder, but suddenly froze. Before them is a giant archery target. In the center, a human sized doll is tied. But Hermes looks closely and widens his eyes. The doll is actually a clone of himself.
Instinctively, Hermes turned around and jumped on Tesla. Good thing he did, because Tesla was aiming at the giant target what looked like electric arrows. Fortunately, the clash between the two men made the projectile deviate from its planned path and landed next to the doll's head and released one of the ropes.
As Hermes keeps fighting to restrain Tesla, the latter keeps trying to aim at the replica. He manages to shoot in its foot, and Hermes feels a tremendous pain at the same spot. Tesla uses this moment to aim again, but Hermes, gathering all his survival instinct, grabs his enemy's hair and headbuts him with all his might.
Tesla collapses on the ground but Hermes knows this will not be enough. He uses the little time he gave himself to find some rubber. He finds some gloves he forcefully put on a still hazy Tesla and some tape to keep them in places, before grabbing the very same ropes that restrained his double self.
Tesla pants and huffs at Hermes, blaming him for not letting properly finish this experiment, though he notes based on his injuries, he still got some data. Then suddenly the two men hear two voices, Tesla's and yours. His tone is enthusiastic, passionate, while yours is miserable, defeated. You tell him you respect his calling, but refuses to be second to it.
Tesla sadly smiles upon hearing this memory, but nods in acceptance. He then gazes at Hermes with the same expression, and congratulates him for completing half of the trials. By the window behind him, three hidden silhouettes stand still.

The following battle is triggered a few days later at night, in a beautiful garden. Thunder could be heard. After a particularly spectacular crash, a tall man with long wavy hair appears before Hermes. He loudly introduces himself as SusanĹ, allegedly (Name)'s first serious love because they were 20, and therefore not teenagers anymore.
Hermes cocks a brow then braces himself. With an exceptional speed, his foe strikes with his sword. Hermes barely dodges it, but his cheek and a few strands of hair are cut in the process.
Hermes manages to dodge most of the blows. The more he does, the more SusanĹ's jaw clenches. But Hermes has no time to rejoice, he cannot find around any weapon, and all the random items he comes across break when used as a shield.
Tables, chairs, silver knives and plates, Hermes throws them all at SusanĹ, to no avail. Remembering the two first fights were won with more than physical prowess, he grabs a Turkish hat, and a crucifix, and aims at his enemy. Still no result.
In a desperate attempt, Hermes throws what he assumed were stones at SusanĹ. They hit his face and actually made him bleed. Hermes widened his eyes and looked for more. But now he can look and feel them more precisely, they are actually snails!
Hermes actually laughs when he sees this, much to SusanĹ's anger, who shouted a few expletives, mainly in Italian, but also some in German too. He then charges at Hermes with all his might, who feels he would certainly die if he was hit.
But it is not a real issue, as Hermes does the only thing he has not done yet: jumping and going on a tree. From down there, SusanĹ tries everything, sword blows, chain tosses, provocations, insults, but Hermes does not move.
When he is done, the sun is getting up. A pleasant breeze is blowing. Then at some point, both SusanĹ and Hermes hear your voice. You tell your then boyfriend you refused to be with such a stubborn person and that rarely in your life you had felt so unheard.
SusanĹ lowers his head in acknowledgment of his defeat. He then begins to crumble and disintegrates, with the wind him taking away. Hermes gazes down at his third contender drifting away, before witnessing four hidden silhouettes.

The second duel happens the following day. Instead of an arena, Hermes finds himself in a beautiful French Riviera house. His opponent walks in and laconically introduces himself as Beelzebub, (Name)'s high school boyfriend.
Without further ado, he raised a staff which produces vibrations. The shock makes Hermes shake and even want to throw up. But he barely has time to adjust, suddenly the scenery fades away and now they are in what looks like an underground lab. Some grim figures, hybrids, zombies, skeletons, lovecraftian monsters are behind Beelzebub.
They jump on Hermes and grab him. They crush him. Hermes wants to scream, but the sudden change of scenery stops him. Now they are back in the house. This switch keeps happening and Hermes has a hard time adjusting between the vibration damages and the creatures' hits.
Hermes tries to fight Beelzebub when they are in the house and the creatures in the lab. But the vibrations scratch him and mess him up. As for the creatures, he does everything he can to push them away: he hits, stomps, crushes what he can with his bare hands. He manages to incapacitate several, but there are just so many to just use strength.
He even let himself be hit by the vibrations to gag and puke on the creatures. This happens to be quite effective, as some creatures actually melt and disappear. But there are still too many to pull this stunt.
Back in the house with the vibration attacks, suddenly, some voices cut the sound. They belong to (Name) and Beelzebub. They sound happy and enthusiastic, they talk about many things. Then a detail calls Hermes' attention. Beelzebub mentions Stefan Zweig's writings. He is taken aback then gets an idea: just wait.
When they switch to the lab, the creatures are still attacking and grabbing him. He does his best to ignore their screams and check if he can hear something else. Indeed, he can hear (Name) and Belzeebub's voices again. This time, (Name) is pleading, desperate. Belzeebub alternates with soft, seductive and enraged, mad, as if he was possessed. Then he becomes more desperate, begging.
Hermes understands this conversation will be a pattern then looks at the creatures. He takes a deep breath, closes his eyes then waves at them. He does not react to those who are still grabbing him and just waits. He does his best to relax all of his body and not make any move.
Eventually, the grabs on his limbs disappear. Hermes opens his eyes to find they are no longer in the lab. They are outside, the house is behind them and they are on the beach. Beelzebub is standing in the sunlight - dawn or dusk, who knows - by the sea.
He smiles at Hermes, the saddest smile ever, and simply admits his defeat. Behind him remain five silhouettes still hidden despite the light.

Your friend Brunhilde is marrying her long time boyfriend, Siegfried, and you are invited. You are overjoyed to be the maid of honor and did your best to assist her, because not only is she planning her wedding, but also her relocation to Denmark, where her family is originally from.
When Brunhilde introduced you to Hermes, you were stunned by his looks and manners. In his eyes, there is a spark of interest. You look beautiful and adorable, and he wonders what's more.
During the wedding, there is a waltz, and Hermes invites you to dance. You expertly follow his lead and do not trip at all. This impresses him, and he learns you had class when you were a child and actually went six times to Austria, including four times in Vienna.
After the wedding, you meet again. The fourth time you see each other, Hermes thinks he wants to date you. From the moment he says that, he suddenly finds himself in an arena. A man theatrically appears and introduces himself as Shiva, (Name)'s first boyfriend from middle school. Behind him are six hidden silhouettes.
Shiva then explains since he expressed the desire to date you, he has to face your seven exes. He refused to elaborate and immediately lungs at Hermes. He manages to dodge but has barely the time to celebrate: Shiva is blasting fire with his four fists!
Shiva's movements are brutal and precise, Hermes barely escapes from the second blow. By making a circular movement in an attempt to defend himself, he notices some fire comes out as well.
Hermes then tries to strike back using his technique, but Shiva deflects his attack with a wide, cruel grin. But it is no big deal, as Hermes tries again by mimicking the movements of his opponent and produces a stronger fire.
Hermes manages to defend himself pretty well, but he is searching for a tactic to win. Suddenly, he hears a loud, horrible voice which resonates in the whole arena. It is Shiva's voice, who shouts expletives that would make a sailor blush. Then another one comes out, yours. At first desperate, its vocabulary soon becomes the same as Shiva's.
Hermes is taken aback by the deafening voices, but soon notices Shiva's demeanor has changed too. His moves are less coordinated, his pace is more irregular, and his aim is less accurate. This reminds him of Avatar: The Last Airbender, the agni kai between Zuko and Azula. A smile appears on his face. Even though he does not have a Katara with him, he has a plan.
Hermes stops casting fire and chooses to run at his foe. He only uses the fire technique to dissipate Shiva's attacks. It is easier said than done, as the closer he gets, the bigger the fire blasts are. But he manages to do so nevertheless, and when he reaches him, Hermes performs the chi blocking technique. Once Shiva is no longer able to use fire, Hermes kicks his groin, and once his enemy is on the ground, he chains his four arms.
Shiva is furious and threatens him, but he cannot do anything about that: he has lost. In a very dramatic way, he shouts this was only the warm-up and that ready or not, the others would come at him.
Hey there, here are some short scenarios about four Hell's Paradise men: Shion, Chobe, Ran, and Shugen set in a Modern AU. It is a bit drafty, some sexual allusions, ooc, pregnancy, there is also some questionable parenting style. Also, Shija is a lady for the Shugen one. Word count: 4.8k
ShionÂ
How you met: You met during a parent teacher meeting. The two of you are single parents of nine years old: Shion has a son named Tenza and you have a daughter named Nurugai.Â
When you arrived in front of the building, you saw a blind man and offered him to be his guide, which he politely accepted and thanked you for.Â
You noticed he was heading to the same class as yours, much to his pleasure.Â
When the teacher announced there would be a play for the end of the year, Shion said âWow, didn't see that coming!â which made you burst out laughing.
You were the only one giggling out loud, most of the ones who heard it had a silent fit of laughter or simply grinned.Â
That is why Shion approached you afterwards, refused the help of the others and asked for yours. You happily indulged and led him outside. His brother, a man who introduced himself as Jikka, cheerfully greeted the two of you, before leading him in his car. Â
Earlier in the relationship: You try to keep it cool, and meet while you can. With your children and work, it is not always easy.Â
Shion is definitely the caring type. He likes to have planned dates, he pays for dinner and insists on walking you home before getting a taxi. Or if it is too far, he calls you a taxi and insists you message him when you are home.Â
You send him tons of vocals. He loves to hear your voice, even if you just talk about mundane things.
Deeper into the relationship: Shortly after you had started dating, you had begun to take Braille class. Once you feel skilled enough, you begin to leave tons of notes when you are at his place. Some easy to access, others hidden.Â
During the weekends you are together, you bring his breakfast in bed.Â
Wedding: a beautiful ceremony, mixing the traditions of Taoism and Shintoism. For the first part, Shion wore a baby blue chang pao. After you have resumed your offering to the Gods, you carry on with the kneeling part, where you serve tea to your parents. This is a joyful moment, and you gaze at your man in adoration.Â
For the Shinto part, he is as equally stunning to you in his black kimono. For the nakĹdo role, although Jikka is the official one, both Tenza and Nurugai have their speech. Each of them welcome their respective stepparent in the family.Â
Later on, you learn that during the reception, one of Shionâs cousins, Sagiri, met one of your friends, Yuzuriha, and spend a lot of time together.Â
Married life: none of you want Tenza or Nurugai to feel left out, so at first the two of you made a point to have activities altogether, like movie nights or amusement park days. But you always manage to get some quality time with your husband.Â
Fatherhood:Â Shion is a great father to Tenza, he sets rules and boundaries, but always for the boyâs sake. He always listens when his son is venting, and gives him the most accurate advice. He would give his soul for his son and that is something you love about him.Â
With Nurugai, he does keep a distance, but he means well. He is kind and supportive, but does not want to impose himself too much. But the girl adores her mother's husband, and, uncharacteristically of girls her age, actively seeks his company.Â
You noticed that he still seems a bit withdrawn with her and decided to privately talk to him about this. Not in an aggressive way, rather a curious one.Â
He tells you he is fond of Nurugai, but has a hard time placing himself. Eventually, the three of you talk about it, and Shion realises he is accepted as a parent figure.Â
You did not talk with Shion about expanding the family, assuming it would not be a priority for him, given you already have two children at home.Â
This is why you are surprised when he brings the topic up. After some hesitation, you admit you would want nothing more than bearing his child, but would understand if he did not want another baby. By now, Tenza and Nurugai are already 13.
He tells you with a sweet smile he would love to have a baby with you and cannot wait to see you round with his child. You laugh and happily complied.Â
The pregnancy went well. Tenza and Nurugai especially, are excited for this newest addition.Â
The baby arrives earlier than the expected date and it lasts two hours from the moment your water broke until it was out. It is a healthy girl, Shion found the name Akiko, and you agreed.Â
When the little one is put in his arms, he cannot help but shed a few tears. She is so light he thinks she could fly away with just a breeze.Â
Whenever she fusses for other reasons than being hungry, hearing her fatherâs voice soothes the little one. Shion also notes it works to a lesser extent with Tenza.Â
In the first months, he can often be found in a rocking chair, holding Akiko and swinging. Thatâs another ritual to calm her down.Â
Growing up, she is totally a daddyâs girl; in a way similar to Nurugai, Akiko worships her father.Â
Akiko is a sensitive child, and unlike her siblings, expresses less of her feelings. Shion is the one who gets when something is bothering her and manages to make her say what is in her mind. She always feels lighter after speaking with him.Â
Shion loves all of his children and treats them equally. However, only you are aware that he cried when Akiko moved out to study in Macau.Â
When she comes back, she impresses him because he does not recognize the shy little girl who vented to him before going to bed. Bonus surprise, she speaks a bit of Portuguese too.Â
When Tenza and Nurugai introduce their respective spouses, he first maintains a strict demeanor, as if he was telling them they were not good enough for his precious children. But he is very good at reading people and when he gets solid evidence they are good as persons and as matches, he drops the mask and shows how much of a softie he is.
Miscellaneous: Gathering with Asaemon Yamada family every. Single. Month. Always at the end, after everyone got paid, and on a weekend night. You get music, excellent food, laughter, you know it.
ChobeÂ
How you met: Your friend Yui invited you to a party at her place. Chobe is also there because Gabimaru invited him and they are the ride or die type of friends.Â
At some point, someone decided to do karaoke. When it is Chobeâs turn, Midnight cruising by Kingo Hamada plays on and you are surprised how smoothly he sings it. He also gets very energetic for the chorus, which makes you grin in approval.Â
When it is yours, you choose Love ESP by Masayoshi Takanaka and do it the most over the top way possible. Even with some awkward dances during the guitar riffs.Â
Once you are done, you find an empty spot to sit, next to him. He opens a beer and hands it to you, to âreward you for your outstanding performanceâ. You ironically thank him and start to talk. For what feels like ten minutes but actually lasted an hour.Â
Earlier in the relationship: he doesnât care much about what to do when you are around. Come over to his place to hang out and he will be happy. The outdoor activity he likes the most is going to concerts. He loves being in front, even though you have to stand for two hours. He gave you a passionate kiss during Cinema Staffâs one. Another time during Minako Yoshidaâs.Â
Deeper into the relationship: Chobe only introduces his girlfriend to his inner circle when he is serious. You had already met Gabimaru, but got to meet the others, Gantetsusai and Ju Fa, later on.Â
The real milestone would obviously be when you meet his brother, TĹma. While he is civil, you feel the aloofness, but none of you try to force anything.Â
Wedding: whatever you want, you will get it. Shinto and Christian ceremonies? Ok, he looked good in a kimono and a suit and he knows it. One hundred guests? Weâll manage. The list actually fills in fast, and none of the people who came was redundant to him or to you. Honeymoon in Okinawa? Letâs do it. He went there once and had great memories, so why not add this moment as well?
Married life: Carefree. On weekends, he loves to wake up and just lay in bed with you. You also like to host parties at your place, or go out in a bar, drink, sing, dance and kiss, no matter the song. During your holiday in Osaka, you ended up in a jazz festival in a town nearby, Takatsuki, and tenderly kissed during a Steve Wonder cover.Â
Fatherhood: Your pregnancy is not a planned one: in this regard he is also the âGo with the flowâ type. You freaked out when you found out, but the smile he had when you told him made you cool off.Â
The first trimester is him holding your hair while you vomit. He notes it feels familiar, just doing it for another reason, which makes you laugh.Â
Once you enter the second trimester, the tension is off. Morning sicknesses are over, your bump starts to show. And your sex drive skyrockets, much to his pleasure.
When your water breaks at 3AM, he knows what he has to do. The bags have been packed in advance, as soon as the doctor has given you the approximate due date. He had also read this tends to happen during the night.Â
In the labor room, Chobe barely left your side. He counted the hours and waited with you until your cervix was fully dilated and you started to push. He let you crush his hand during the process without any care in the world. Same with the screaming, because what are some slight earring disturbance compared to pushing out of your body a little human being?
As soon as you heard the weak cry, you both breathed out in relief. He smiled and kissed your wet forehead, before drifting to sleep with you.
When the nurse came back with the little boy, he let you hold him first. When it was his turn, he was at a loss for words and did not notice his lips quiver. The two of you chose to name this little fellow Rihito.
Chobe is a stress free man, so your baby feels it and fusses way less than expected. He does not complain when it is his turn to feed his son, even in the middle of the night. It is far from easy, but he knows thatâs his share and his duty.
Chobe is kind of a gym rat, with a child he has less time, but he adapts. When your son is a baby, he goes when he can. Later on, he wakes up at 5 AM and has his time for himself before performing his parent duty.Â
Rihito definitely flexes when his father comes to school. His comrades made several comments on how cool Chobe looks and, unbeknownst to him, several mothers ogle at this handsome man. This makes him confidently smile; he doesnât personally care, but he is glad he is a source of pride. It reminds him of when he did the same for Toma. History just repeats itself. Except he doesnât have to punch anybody this time.
As the kid grows up, Chobe makes a point to make Rihito as resourceful as possible. By the time he is 14, your son knows how to drive, change a tire and cook basic meals. At some point, the three of you go to a party and Chobe and yourself get hammered. Chobe hands off the keys to your son and tells him to drive. Irresponsible? Totally. Successful? That too.Â
However, he is not the easiest person to talk to when it comes to emotions. Not because he thinks it is not his job. That is just not his thing. Some family therapy would be helpful honestly.Â
Miscellaneous: You like to do gatherings with family and friends every two months. You are close friends with Yuzuriha and she is always there because she cannot say no to free drinks. TĹma is also there for obvious reasons and they always squabble. Your jaw dropped the first time you saw them interact, it was like watching a Mean Girls scene.Â
RanÂ
How you met: Your supervisor, Sagiri, recommended you to do yoga class because she noticed you looked tense and, by observing you, deduced you had no hobby.
Ran is your instructor and is a very good one. Competent - your jaw dropped when you saw him doing a front split - patient, and explains well. You do your best to stay focused and hide your attraction to him, but he is aware of the effect he has on women. And also does not care you are technically a customer, which is why he slips his number in your purse after your fifth course.Â
Earlier in the relationship: You have sex on the third date, without any regret. He jokingly called these âadvanced sessionsâ. You still attend his class and he loves to tease you. He also banged you twice in the facility: once in the shower, and another one in the locker room. Yeah, he really doesnât care.
Deeper into the relationship: Beyond the physical aspect, his love language is cooking. Japanese dishes, but also Chinese ones, since his mother is from there. Best century eggs you ever had, unforgettable dumplings, but you still have a hard time getting used to Sichuanese pepper.
Another proof you are important to him is that you get to meet the said family. His parents passed away, but he has six siblings, and three nieces and nephews. Everything went smoothly, the family feels sane, you see they care for each other but are not too nosy. Ran notices you feel at ease and Gui Fa tells him you seem like a nice person and a good match, which is one of the greatest compliments he ever had.
Wedding: When it comes to the type of ceremony, he could not care less, so he let you decide. You took care of most of the paperwork and eventually chose a taoist ceremony. Rien, the oldest sibling, is the Taoist priest who performs the ceremony. For the tea serving part, you do it with your parents, who are surprised to find the six siblings of Ran have the same role, but everything goes well.
You did a one week trip to Hokkaido. Hikes in the morning, onsen in the afternoon, and some more yoga in the eveningâŚÂ
Married life: During weekends, he still wakes you up and strongly encourages you to keep doing yoga. Just because you married him does not mean he is relieved from his duties as an instructor. You have a few jabs, but nevertheless comply.Â
When your lease ended and you were looking for a new place, you eventually chose a unit on a high floor with a living room which has big windows, because it is perfect for his morning session. Not the cheapest, but perfect for you guys. Your place is full of sports equipment, but he makes a point of keeping it tidy. Thatâs also your home after all.Â
You take on more cooking duty, and make sure he has something packed in case you finish late. And when you finish late, you always find something for you in return.
Fatherhood: He openly talks about his want to have kids, and you know for a fact he is great with them. All of his siblings who have kids completely trust him with them.Â
So it is no surprise to him when you bring up the topic. And he will happily indulge. At some point, he has to go to Latvia for his work. At first skeptical, you eventually brush it off and take a two weeks leave to go with him. You keep trying for a baby there, and succeed.Â
Weeks later, way after your trip and the jetlag is over, you take a pregnancy test, and he is with you. He lifts you in the air and makes you twirl when the two lines appear.
During your pregnancy, he wants you to be the most comfortable possible. You often bath together, he has you comfortably lean on him, kisses on your neck and caresses your bump. He also massages you afterwards.Â
When your libido increases after the second trimester, he does not complain in the least, and also makes sure you are comfortably settled before engaging. The way he switches from tenderly caressing your curves to savagely pounding excites you and makes you bite your pillow countless times.Â
He would also adapt his yoga teaching to your condition. This helps you deal with stress a lot and he feels pride upon seeing you practising his teaching while carrying his child.Â
When it is time for you to deliver the baby, it takes forever. Turns out the fact you have sports activity makes your perineum not stretched enough and the doctor has to perform an episiotomy so that the baby can go out easier. Your eyes nearly popped out when you hear this, but in the end, you agree and the baby gets out faster.
It is a beautiful girl, and you chose to follow the family tradition, and named her Tsubaki (camelia)Â
Your daughter is an adorable baby who can fuss of course, but always seems to listen and understand when Ran or you talk to her. Your husband adores her. When she is a newborn, he loves to sit and just hold her.Â
Ranâs siblings are very present, you have at least two visits per week. You feared it would be overwhelming, but they do take no for an answer when you say so, and come either with a dish or help you out.Â
The older cousins also agree to babysit her so that you can go out.Â
Overall, Ran views parenting as an extension of his occupation. He is collected, stress free and patient, but holds very dearly the principles of hard work and family unity.Â
By the time Tsubaki is in elementary school, he encourages her to pick any activity, as long as it is sports. She chose swimming, but asks Ran to show her some of his moves too. When he does so, despite his calm, he is actually more demanding with her. Unconsciously, he views his daughter as an extension of himself.
He would also make her miss some events when schedules clash with family gatherings. Several times she caved in, but at some point you intervened and told Ran to drop it.Â
Growing up, Tsubaki is a popular girl, praised for her kindness, confidence and athletic feats. This continues in her adulthood. However, the need to be liked lingers in her mind and she can be upset if she is met with dismay or indifference. Nothing dramatic, but she needs to work on that.
Miscellaneous: You planned some international trips. He flexed his mandarin skills in Singapore and mainland China, but switched to English in Hong Kong, as he noticed the stern looks he got when he initiated conversations in mandarin. Afterwards, he did not take any risk at all when you went to Taipei.Â
ShugenÂ
How you met: Sort of arranged. His father and your uncle are long time friends and wanted to be tied even further. You are the only girl in this cousin set of the family and get along well with your uncle, so you see no issue with this. Shugen, who trusts his fatherâs judgement, solemnly agrees to this meeting and is willing to make the best impression.
They plan on the introduction for a New Yearâs Day party your uncle and aunt are hosting. When you are introduced, it is informal, along with other relatives so that it is not too obvious and pushy.Â
It was love at first sight, he is mesmerized by your good looks and your elegance and so are you.
After exchanging polite smiles, you wait for the others to wander off before exchanging a relieved smile. He offers to go fetch some drinks and meet you on the balcony. You agreed and from the moment he joins you, he does not leave your side.Â
You talk about nothing and everything, your university major, law for him and literature for you, your hobbies... It is an ordinary conversation on the surface, but he canât help noticing the way you tucked some stray strands behind your ear after twirling it, your serene way of nodding when you listen to him, the sparkle in your eyes when he mentions the latest release of Kazuo Ishiguro. He just wants to see more of that, more of you.Â
Earlier in the relationship: You tell him you want to spend time with him and get to know him more, but want to keep it lowkey, at least from your family, because they can be gossipy. He understands and complies.Â
Your first dates are in museums and libraries. When he has to study, he finds it reassuring to have you by his side doing the same or reading. The best incentive.Â
When you discuss about sex, you are both surprised to find out the two of you are virgins. Unlike you, he had dated two times before, but never went the extra mile because he wanted to focus on his studies.Â
He finds it precious that you still are untouched, and you find the idea of sharing this special moment with a chaste man quite exciting.
Deeper into the relationship: You sleep at each otherâs place thrice a week and nothing happens because you respect each otherâs boundaries. However, he cannot hide the effect you have on him. When you lay in bed, his gestures are tender and loving, but you feel his erection pressed against your thigh.Â
During Valentineâs Day, your second together, he went home and you were there, waiting for him with homemade chocolates just for him. The evening went well, you talked about your day, cooked together, put on some music and danced during the process. At some point he grabbed your shoulders and gave you a passionate kiss which you eagerly returned. As the seconds passed, the kiss deepened and became more needy, more pleading. This was all you needed to carry on.
Wedding: The timing is interesting: you both graduate in March, and marry in October. You would have loved to be a June bride, but wouldnât have managed to focus both on your final exam and plan your wedding. This is not a problem, because the autumn colours are stunning and the two of you loved that.Â
You both agreed on a shinto ceremony. Your mothers took care of the planning, and over two hundred guests attended the reception. Since Shugenâs father already has his role, the role of the nakĹdo is given to your uncle, whom you genuinely thank for his contribution in your speech.
Both of your families are pretty well-off, and your parents, who are proud of your results, insist on paying for most of it as a graduation gift.
Your honeymoon is completely on your dime though. You chose to spend five days in a Ryokan in Kanazawa. You surprised Shugen with the number of kidney bean cakes you ate and purchased there.
Married life: Shugen, now a judge, works hard and impartially. His private life vanishes when he enters the SaikĹ-Saibansho, and all of his cases disappear when he exits the building.Â
This is where you both show how devoted spouses you are. At night he comes back with flowers you like, sometimes jewelry, and you have his favourite dishes prepared. Then once you are done, you go bath together and he listens to your work anecdotes with a smile.Â
You sometimes indulge yourselves with a glass of wine. Earned it.
Some nights, you also wait for him laying in your bed with black lingerie. Ravishing guaranteed.
Fatherhood: He regards this as both his duty and a way to be tied to you forever. You sit down and discuss this. You want at least two kids, maybe three. With him as the sole provider, he can support you comfortably, but asks your opinion on this. While you like your job, you eventually agree to become a housewife, much to his pleasure.Â
Your tries for a baby do not last long. When the two lines appear, you do not want to announce it to Shugen on the phone, so you patiently wait for him.
When he is home and sees your smile, he knows. He runs at you, grabs you and cries of happiness.Â
You both collapse on the floor and stay like that for several minutes. He cried like this all the pregnancy announcements you had actually.Â
You end up with three children: a boy named Yoshinobu, a girl called Izumi, and another boy named Akira.Â
Your first pregnancy is the hardest. Your morning sickness carries on throughout the second trimester, then you do have contractions despite not being due. This scared you to no end, you feared you were losing your baby.Â
But you hang on the best you can. By that time, you have already resigned, your mother and Shugenâs come to help you out, as the doctor recommended you lie down as much as you could.Â
Shugen spends all his free time with you. He is worried sick, but refuses to show any sign of weakness to anyone. He is supposed to be your rock.
He massages you, brings you food, lays with you, his hands protectively holding your bump.Â
He sighs of relief and kisses you when you feel the baby kicks.Â
Only when the baby is out and is handed to him does he allow himself to cry his heart out.Â
He thought you wouldn't want another baby after this difficult pregnancy, but you bring back the topic when Yoshinobu is three.Â
Shugen is overjoyed upon hearing you want to expand the family. In no time, you get pregnant again. As if the universe wanted to balance out the previous one, the second one is more ordinary, which is the equivalent of smoothness compared to the first one.Â
Izumi even arrives quickly, one hour between the water breaking and she is out. Shugen also cries when he sees her.Â
While you wanted a third one, the third time you get pregnant happens earlier than planned. Izumi is approximately ten months old.Â
Overall, Shugen is kind of a tiger father, who wants what he thinks is best for his children. This includes him checking their grades, putting them in an international school where they can be bilingual by the time they finish elementary school, and at least trilingual when they finish high school.Â
This works, Yoshinobu becomes fluent in English and French, Izumi in Mandarin and English, and Akira in English, Mandarin, and Korean.
He is also curious about their hobbies and encourages them to pursue it. Is Yoshinobu interested in theater? Fine, he can pay for classes and attend his plays. But that doesnât mean he will allow him to become an actor or anything similar. Not that Yoshinobu seriously considered that, but the mere thought of it is quickly overlooked.Â
The slight rebellion happens when he refuses to enroll in law school like his father. Instead, he chooses your major and becomes a literature teacher on university level.
Same with Izumi, who is into dance. As a teenager, she said she loved it so much she wanted to be an instructor. Not on his watch. She ends up being a journalist. At some point, Izumi has an opportunity to move to Naha. He voices his concern about the distance and the weather, but she does not take his (unsolicited) opinion into account and proceeds.
For Akira, he is more lenient, as he is the youngest. By the time he turns 23, he validates his B2 level in German⌠and actually peace out. Akira spends five years in Austria and comes back happily married to a Hungarian lady. Of course he has started to learn her language. Of course there is nothing Shugen can say about that.Â
Miscellaneous: After what your families regard as a successful set up, they try to do the same with Shija, Shugenâs sister, and Gabimaru, your favourite cousin. This does not end up as planned, as they are way more pushy, and Shija is too obsessed and overwhelming. Afterwards, Gabimaru went low contact with your family, except with you. Later on, he married and had two children. At least one time in the year, you go there or they come to catch up. In this matter, Shugen simply follows your lead, no matter how upset his sister gets.
Iâd love to find you all and follow you (non-stalker like, of courseâŚ) as we share the pain that is snk from an eruri fanâs point of view. Reblog or like to make yourselves known, I have a need to follow more of you wonderful people
It takes creativity. It is the act of putting something on paper, that when others see it, a unique picture is drawn in their mind. All guided by the author. I definitely call that an art.
The post was practically perfect in every way, and then somebody went and added Julie Andrews, thus shooting it into the realm of utter and absolute perfection.
