Happy things to remember on crappy days

-sitting on the back porch in the morning with a cup of coffee, listening to the birds singing and feeling the sun’s rays -cocooning in bed with my current read; to have my blanket wrapped around me and keeping me warm as I adventure through fictional worlds -a nice, hot cup of herbal tea for when I’m not feeling well, whether it be physically or mentally. -taking a few hours to bake something. to focus on the ingredients and the directions and work with my hands to create something delicious. -doggie hugs -opening my curtains to let the sunlight into my room -finally finishing all of my laundry -blasting music while I do the dishes (and screaming along to each song) -the peaceful feeling after a long cry -NEW BOOKS -amazing hair days -taking an unexpectedly good photo -stormy days where you can hear the rain pounding on your roof -dinners out with friends and family -pay days at work -the comfort of scented candles -laughing so hard your sides hurt -the excitement when packages finally arrive

Bolivia Prepares Literacy Programs in 36 Indigenous Languages

Since Evo Morales took office illiteracy has been reduced from 13.3 percent to 2.9 percent, the lowest rate in the history of Bolivia.

Next year Bolivia plans to kick off literacy programs in the 36 Native languages recognized and spoken in the South American nation, the education ministry announced on Friday.

“It’s very clear that the issue of literacy needs to be diversified and strengthened. We have already started to work with some of them,” the head of the illiteracy campaign, Ramiro Tolaba said to teleSUR.

Tolaba also considers it necessary to create methodologies for teaching literacy to people with hearing and visual disabilities. “We need to make much more progress in this regard and the challenge is huge, but this is what the country needs,” he added.

During the past decade and under the government of President Evo Morales, illiteracy was reduced from 13.3 percent to 2.9, the lowest rate in the history of Bolivia.

President Morales, who is the country’s first Indigenous president, has advanced Indigenous rights in the country. Bolivia’s Indigenous peoples constitute approximately 62 percent of the country’s population of over 10 million. In 2008 he adopted the U.N. Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Bolivia’s constitution states that the official languages are Spanish and all 36 languages spoken by the country’s Indigenous nations. It also states that universities must implement programs for the recovery, preservation, development, and dissemination of learning these different languages.

Top Irish news reporter announces he is "gender fluid"

A leading news reporter for Ireland’s national broadcaster, RTÉ, has been “overwhelmed” by the support he has received from his employers and the public since he revealed that he identifies as “gender fluid.”

After 16 years of service, the 44-year-old journalist, Jonathan Clynch, asked that he now be referred to as Jonathan Rachel Clynch by RTÉ.

Not sure if anyone missed this but I’m so happy to see this!!! It’s wonderful to see the various gender identities appear in big names and not just seen as a “tumblr thing”
