She smiled as he spoke, “Ragnarok is the norse version of basically the apocalypse right?” she wasn’t entirely sure what was funny about knowing about that but didn’t seem important…She was going to ask him more questions when there was a knock on the door ”tea’s here” she says, getting up to answer the door…
Apparently the kitchen knew she had important company… They had gone and set up a whole ‘high tea’ style spread for the two of them “It’s not even the right time for high tea” she mumbled after she had thanked the server with a smile and tip and shut the door behind him.
“It’s a apocalypse of sorts, it’s also known as the twilight of the gods, but that’s not really set in stone. There are some versions where the gods survive the battle.” He explained, clearly a little cheerful at talking about his passions, “My favourite myth, though, is the one where Thor has to disguise himself as a woman and almost marry a giant to get his hammer back because Freya refuses to do it.”
“I suppose you can’t expect hotel staff to know the finer details of polite societal customs.” He had often wished he’d been born poor enough to not have to know them himself. He knew Reyna certainly did.

Ray grinned at his girlfriend, a light blush raising in his cheeks as he raised his hands in surrender. “Oh my, officer! There must be some sort of mistake! You’re the only cute one I see here.”

For me it’s a tie between the old nordic vikings and ancient egypt.“ she only knew what was taught in school of course but that didn’t make them anyless her favourites.
“Well, I’ve certainly studied the Nordic gods the most. That’s where my family’s roots lay. You could say I’m a bit of an expert on the Ragnarok myth.” He joked, knowing she would have no idea how serious he was about that, having fought in version of Ragnarok himself. “After that, I’d say Egypt and Greece are tied for second place.”

That got a giggle out of her, and not one her fake ‘haha omg that is just like so funny’ laughs. a true one…. felt weird doing around someone who wasn’t Adrien or Drew.
She noted he didn’t look particularly comfortable talking about himself… She’d have to carefully work any information out of him… “Studious? Do you have a favourite subject in particular or?“
“Yeah, Veronica is pretty funny.” He nodded, her laugh causing him to grin, “She is our usual nanny. Or at least she was, until my parents clued in that sixteen year olds don’t really need nannies anymore.”

She couldn’t quite put her finger on why exactly she came to that conclusion,but it calmed her nerves enough that she actually sat on the same couch as him.

“She is, our nanny used to call her “lengua larga”, which loosely means big mouth.” He chucked, the Spanish rolling off his tongue with ease, the product of a life time of nannies. “She used to call me Viejo because apparently I was born old.”
He stumbled over himself when she asked about him, “Oh, um... well, I’m... Reyna’s a lot bolder... we’re really two halves of a while and I’m the more studious side.”
