Because I love a good project and the timing was right on this one, Kate and I have started making our part time vegan tote bags. You can pre-order them now and get in time for all your hilarious holiday gifting.

No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were. As some of the petitioners in these cases demonstrate, marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death. It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.

So wonderful: Love Letter from a Scientist by Utterlybanjaxed, with drawings by nimsley and Arbeekeypok.
Richard Feynman would approve. Pair with this vintage ode to discovery and creativity in science.

For West is where we all plan to go some day. It is where you go when the land gives out and the old-field pines encroach. It is where you go when you get the letter saying: Flee, all is discovered. It is where you go when you look down at the blade in your hand and the blood on it. It is where you go when you are told that you are a bubble on the tide of empire. It is where you go when you hear that thar’s gold in them-thar hills. It is where you go to grow up with the country. It is where you go to spend your old age. Or it is just where you go

I can only hope to read things into this posting, Emily.
So I've started another project. It's no secret that I love ice cream and making ice cream and feeding ice cream to my friends. Thus, I've resurrected belinder (my ice cream "catering" business) as a blog where I'm sharing my recipes and exploring new flavors.Â
Come take a look: http://belinder.co. New recipes every Tuesday!

Not the prettiest thing I've ever baked, but I did make macarons from scratch. Item number seven crossed off my 30 before 30 list.Â
See what I learned for prettier results next time.
This is perhaps the most amazing ice cream concoction ever. Thank you for being who you are @CoolHaus now please come deliver to me.Â
That's a pretty great ice cream video.
The fact is balancing high profile careers and families do work for a lot of other people. They don’t all write books about it, incendiary link-bait articles or even posts like these. They don’t jump up and down and wave their arms about how well its going either. Mostly because they are too busy just getting it done.
Sarah Lacy on PandoDaily.com
I've been reading a lot about Sheryl Sandberg's book coming out next month, and most articles pit it against Anne-Marie Slaughter's piece in The Atlantic last year.
I think Sarah Lacy's piece on Pando Daily gets to the heart of it—neither of these women's experiences will reflect your own. You have to figure out what works for you, and just get it done.
book club in new jersey. cc @kristinapp @kthor @alicia230
This is how my book club spent the long weekend. Thanks for the memories New Jersey.
Yeah, I made homemade Klondike bars as part of my 30 before 30 list. Calling it now: 2013 will be the summer of the gourmet klondike bar.
Emily, Bekka & I had some fun with the Tattly & Land of Nod Smilebooth!
this weekend...
I'm going to:
start knitting this cowl
go see this movie
make some pom poms
read this book
attend an intro service here
eat at least one chocolate croissant from here (shown above, too)
happy weekend, everyone.

Young publishing professional seeking literary-minded comnpanion. Must love books.
Oh dear. Getting ideas.
Does it bother anyone else that there's a typo in this "young publishing professional's" post? She must work on the sales side, not edit.
