we're finally allowed to post our contributions for russian re-zine!!! yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that's my spread. it was a long and hard work but i'm honestly very happy with it, even though it didn't come out exactly the way i expected
I love how Kakeyo Hitman Reborn was not the best written manga, and in fact many people didn't like the ending, but it brings so much comfort to me.
Most mangas like khr are so filled with suffering, that I'm constantly asking for more shitpost content. I want to see my favorite characters playing stupid games, going to school, eating together, being best friends, being a family.
And that's exactly what khr gives me.
Even the fights are all about them being family. Every battle is about the sense of family, about trust and loyalty, and different types of suffering and misunderstandings and Tsuna (the main character), he's constantly trying to solve things without violence.
Another thing I loved was the ending.
Many mangas has this type of ending of "there's no going back, nothing will ever be the same", but khr doesn't have that. You know everyone has changed, you know they don't see things the way they used to, but they are still teenagers and they are still very dumb, very alive, full of things to learn. I love how in the end they still have room to keep improving, you know they won't suddenly drop school, or stop being who they are. At heart, they are still the same kids that they used to be, just more mature now.
Besides khr is just simply fun to be around. The beginning of the manga is slow and it's practically just shitpost, but it's so important because you get to enjoy all the relationships, you get to see them having fun and doing comic stuff and being happy. So when the other arcs come, you understand why they all are so worried about defending the life they have.
Idk, I think khr is special and a great manga in its own way, and I will forever be grateful for it. All the group of characters are found families, almost all villains end up as weird allies, you have time traveling and immortal babies that are actually lethal and magic and mafia and competitions and it's just batshit crazy, but in the best kind of way.
Katekyo Hitman Reborn will always be my favorite manga, being honest.
Announcement :)
Hello everyone! I’m very excited to announce that I’ve started translating KHR content! So far, I’m planning to translate all of the Secret Bullet novels and later move on to translating the Vongola Grand Prix manga. I might even translate some fanfics if the authors allow me to.
All of my translations will be on this Google site! I hope you guys can check it out if you’re interested. I will be grateful if even one person finds it enjoyable! \( ̄︶ ̄*\))
As of now, the entirety of Dino’s story “Bucking Horse Stampede” is up! I will be working on the second story of the first anthology, which is very much shorter.
Thank you all for the support of this blog thus far! I know translating the novels isn’t like, new content, but it’s been really fun! For more information, just visit the site :D
I will tagging translation updates with “10th-vongola translates”. I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea so feel free to block/follow if you don’t want/want to see these types of posts!
Sorry for the long post! Thanks for reading.
TL;DR: I opened a new site here to translate KHR stuff.
Kentaro Miura (july 11th, 1966-may 6th, 2021)
"I'm not saying that I dislike human beings ... I never knew that other people had the ability to tickle your heart, or make it twinge ... it's not that I'm giving up ... I'm good at finding amusement things, and when it comes to having fun, I put everything I have into it ... But ... Somehow, this world just doesn't feel right."
A friendly reminder that TYL!Byakuran is a sad man who lost his humanity and became an asshole. He lost his humanity and thought he was god. He has no grand reason for being a villain (and honestly, this kind of villain works with me). It's not for revenge, not due to a twisted philosophy nor an awful past (if it was, we'd see a glimpse of it because TYL!Byakuran knew that he's an asshole and he doesn't shy away from that image).
The primary reason why he pursued mass destraction is because he's bored and unsatisfied with his life and the moment he received power, he thought he's a god and the world is entitled to his whims.
The fact that he was a btch is not erased the moment Tsuna & co. went back to their original timeline (present) and the memories of his future asshole self was carried to his present ones. Thus, making Present!Byakuran repentant about things which did not happen in their current world.
And although it was Tsuna and Uni who contributed to his demise, it was also through them that Byakuran was saved.
So even if Present!Byakuran is bored or unsatisfied with his life, he will never pursue mass destruction because he already carries the sin of a different Byakuran. It makes me realize that Byakuran's arc is literally a representation of parallel universes. He's a major testament that there are other yous in another universe who is both you and not at the same time.
And perhaps, Byakuran is finally at the right world.
I’m watching Secret Bullet and this ^ made me smile :)
You have to love Bell :D

"I'm not here to be used by someone, and I don't do anything for anyone but myself. Being me who is always true to myself is my pride."
"My sense, my thought process, and my style ... my big tits, my thighs ... my self-respect. I love me more than anything."
"I became something other than a human and was picked on and immensely bullied. It was painful in the beginning, but ... after a while, I stopped caring about that and learned to trust in myself and my own beliefs."
I can't STRESS this enough but Shittopi-chan is, hands down, one of the best characters in KHR. Despite her not having too much limelight and a heavily fleshed out arc, her character is straightforward. The moment she was introduced to the series, she already knows who she is and she takes pride in it, in a very resilient manner.
She embraces her beauty. She knows where she stands. She had her own ambitions and she recognizes her own image. She fully owns her quirks and will not be bothered. She wouldn't allow anyone to dictate her sense of self, even the society's standard. She embraces her individuality and she's not sorry for it.
She loves herself more than anyone but not to the point of narcissism. She does care for her family.
And this is by choice. Her admissions were direct and there were no conditions or any particular reason for her love except, she loves herself more than anyone. And that is okay.
She loves herself immensely but not to the point of narcissism. She didn't even care about receiving other people's admiration. And in truth, we love better when we also love ourselves.
I just ... I don't know where I'm going with this but I just wanna say, Shittopi-chan is amazing. And I wish that someday I'll get on a level where I won't let others bother me for being true to myself. Like her.
Bonus: I love her dynamics with Gokudera. Just look at them referring to one another as strange creatures. Lol.
Reason #238337 of why we need a Reborn! reboot:
I demand to see this animated.
these are not kings, but princes
Or, “In this post, makeste essays about KHR, and the ephemeral nature of youth.”
So as previously mentioned, I have been rereading Katekyo Hitman Reborn, a series which came out fourteen years ago (a.k.a. long enough that there are people who are now Tsuna’s age that weren’t even born yet when the manga first debuted). This series ended in November 2012 (a.k.a. the last time the U.S. elected a President that wasn’t evil). Five and a half years later, I still haven’t gotten over it.
And here is the thing—KHR, while certainly a successful series and one that I love, was never anything particularly special. By which I mean it wasn’t one of the all-time greats. It had a lot of flaws, and even the things it was good at had by and large been done before in other series, and in many cases, done better. It’s not one of the series I mention when people ask me for anime and manga recs. I would not put it on a top ten list of must-sees or must-reads. (The one exception is the Varia Arc; this absolutely is in my top ten shounen battle arcs, and eleven years later it still kicks ass.)
The humor (although I love it! so much!) is not everyone’s cup of tea. The art style starts out kinda rough, then gets really good for a while, but then starts to deteriorate toward the end of the Future Arc (although the characters are still as pretty as a Marvel Chris at sunrise). The plot has brief moments of brilliance, but tends to fall flat on its face at critical moments. It’s got issues with its representation of female characters. And so on and so on. The point is, it’s far from perfect.
The question that I periodically ask myself, then, is: Why is this series my favorite ever? What the hell is it about KHR that captures my mind’s attention so insistently? What is it about this series that I just haven’t seemed to be able to find anywhere else?
