Hey
Hello,
So by no surprise, I have not been able to keep up with this. As they always say, it is way harder to create a habit than to break one. Here’s another shot at it.

Hey

Weekend
This weekend. I would say this weekend was a good one. Dedicated to work, shopping, family time, and beer at Oktoberfest. Everyday, most of us live our lives looking forward to the weekend; and I mean why not? Weekends are often dedicated to "me" time, fun adventures, and of course, time off from work. As fabulous as weekends are, it is definitely important to try and find something everyday to look forward too. To have a moment that makes you smile, and be willing to find the simple things throughout your day that put that smile there. One of the things I did this weekend, was shop, shop a lot. I am not a big shopper, I don't go shopping a lot, I'd rather save my money. However, I must admit I felt it was definitely necessary, and I had coupons.... It has been years since I bought new clothing for the colder seasons of the year. I am typically found in sweats, or crop tops. That being said, I am 23. I felt I needed a wardrobe that was appropriate, and too be able to look "nice" everyday if I needed too. I want to be #fabulous. No joke. It is easier to get up and be productive when you look good, and feel good. Getting out of bed and doing things becomes easier when you're excited about your super cute outfit you have picked out for the day. COMFY SWEATERS!!! I bought so many sweaters, and cannot wait to wear them and cuddle up. This may be materialistic all my excitement about my new clothing, but hey its also a simple thing. And its the simple things in life that matter. I was able to buy all my new clothes with the company of my parents and my absolutely adorable niece. We ended the day exhausted from walking around by eating dinner, and cuddling up in the living room to a nice a movie. This weekend was oddly warm, out of the blue. What better way than to obviously spend it outside....at Oktoberfest!!! It was gorgeous out and the leaves turning added an extremely special touch. Sitting down observing my surroundings, I thought "take it in." All the families passing by, all the dogs, just all the people in general brought together. It was easy to share a smile with a stranger and a giggle with an overheard comment. Simple moments make me realize how grateful I am, and despite how tough I may feel life may get, I do love the life I am living. It may be hard to remember all the time, but if you take a moment and count your blessings, it will not be hard at all. Gorgeous weather, gorgeous scenery, delicious food/beer, gorgeous friends, laughter and smiles filled my day. Although I think about that tomorrow is Monday and is the beginning of another very busy week which I probably did not do as much planning for as I should have, I am choosing to lay my head on my pillow with a smile and a deep breath of relaxation. Fall asleep feeling good and thinking positively, and I will most likely wake up on the RIGHT side of the bed.
Choices
23 years old. A little over a year out of college. And guess what, I still I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up. For right now, I'm pursuing a dream I had since I was little. To be a professional dancer. A dancer dances, so that is what I'm doing. I have realized a major difference in myself between some others the same age as me. I do not care so much about HAVING things. I care way more about DOING things. And as we all know, our 20's, well that's the time to DO things. Travel. Party. Explore. Meet/date/kiss people. Love. Challenge yourself. Money should not determine what career, dreams, or passions you choose to pursue. You are NOT planning out the rest of your life as soon as you graduate from college. And there is no need to do so. Find out what is truly important to you, and make sure those ARE and REMAIN your top priorities: it is very easy to lose sight of your top priorities when making decisions. You'll make some bad, horrible, and scary choices. But you will also make some good, invigorating, life-changing, and right choices. The choice you should always consistently make is, being true to yourself.
Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive because your words become your behavior. Keep your behavior positive because your behavior becomes your habits. Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny.
Mahatma Gandhi
"At some point, you have to make a decision. Boundaries don’t keep other people out. They fence you in. Life is messy. That’s how we’re made. So, you can waste your lives drawing lines. Or you can live your life crossing them." ~Meredith Grey
"After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul, and you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security, and you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises, and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child, and you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much. So plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure...that you really are strong, and you really do have worth."

Oh I love to stumble #quotes
Words from 19 year old me to 22 year old me...
"Ok last few things. Freshman year was amazing. I only hope each folowing year got better. I hope you succeeded in all your classes and cherished every moment of your college experience. I hope you have no regrets and all your close friends from freshman year are still apart of your life. I hope you've stayed true to yourself and to those you love and care for. If you've changed, I hope it was only in good ways and that you have never lost who you are. I hope you've taken lots of pictures and wouldn't change anything if you could. Good luck in the real world!"
Everyone's always saying how life is too short. What people dont know is that its the longest experience they'll ever experience. What's mistaken as length is often speed. The longest experience anyone will ever experience happens to just go by too fast. You need to enjoy the longest experience to its fullest. Don't ever take a breath for granted...dont ever waste a day, hour, minute or even second...for those many seconds can be filled with the best feelings to ever exist. Cry, laugh, go crazy, make mistakes...you'll only learn from them, never regret anything, forgive, but don't forget, love, sing, take risks, and most of all LIVE. Life is the longest experience you'll ever experience so enjoy it or this experience might just speed up and zoom right past you.
Wrote this about 6-7 years ago, when I was a high school student. Still the words I live by today.
Beginning to KrissCross
So I guess I should do an introduction post as my first post. It only makes sense. I'm currently enjoying life at the fabulous age of 23. I like to think that my outlook of life is one that all people should know and try. My main focus is loving the life I live, and helping those around me love their life and always find the bright side. I began this blog more so for myself: to keep my thoughts, interests, and inspirations in one place. SO, here goes nothing.
