economic growth is the only long term way of eradicating poverty and scarcity
calling the us capitalist is as accurate as calling china communist. Neither are.
Does anyone else find it funny when people post from their phones made in a factory, built and owned by a genocidal regime (china), with cobalt dug by child slaves in warlord owned mines in the congo in it, shipped around by giant gas-guzzling ships for their own convince, that everyone who uses ai is evil?
Its interesting to realize that a lot of things we consider "old" and "obsolete" (phone books, steel locomotives, stationary phones etc.) are:
1 Not really, in the grand scheme of things all that old.
2 Were used for a relatively short period of time.
Its just that technological progress is going so fast that things are becoming outdated very quickly, however we can only see that change through the lens of our life time and, partialy, our parents and grandparents. And that progress doesn't seem like it will slow down anytime soon
trust that everything will fall into place without you forcing it there.
yeah just dont act suprised when it doesn't land where you wanted it to
stoics: the world is fucked and im happy
If its possible for the universe to enter an infinite loop then we are infinily more likely to be in one than to not.
The problem with qoutes is that they make you accept things, not question them. A idea stated as a fact invites opposition, rejection or even ridicule. A quote makes you think "someone worth quoting said it, so it has to be true", wich obviously isn't the case.
I think it stems from our deeply evolutionarily engraved willingness to accept opinions of supiriors and elders, while questioning the ones of equals. It certainly helped us survive in the wild, but you have to be aware of those things or they will rule you.
There's a lot going on right now...
Thought dump on patterns
I think it makes sense that something stable will last longer than something unstable, as the unstable thing will fall quicker into a different state, potentially stable. Thus making things in a way seek for stability (not literally, but you get the idea). Similarly things that replicate themselves are more likely to exist longer than ones that don't.
I think that because of that purely logical observation we can understand a lot of things. For example how the universe with dimensions could come to be, becouse it's stable thus making it last longer than pure chaos. It also explains the reason that life exists, becouse it has the ability to replicate itself, making it more likely to exist.
I dont know where im going with this, but if i see people are intrested in this or i just think of some more I'll probably post it.
