valentine's weekend didn't mean much to him since he wasn't in a relationship, but it was a nice change of pace to see the majority of the town happy and having fun, especially since the poisonings looked to have ceased.
bam was perched on a park bench reading the latest book from his never ending reading list to pass the time. time wasn't a concept when bam was nose deep in a book. hours passed and he hadn't moved his spot, it wasn't until he looked up that he has realised that the day was well into the evening.

Of course, Kronk had been working on Valentine's day making sure that everyone had a lovely time. He had promised Wendy that the would celebrate properly together the next night, though gave her the gift he'd gotten on the actual day, of course. He still had time before he had to be home though, and since it was a beautiful day, he figured it would be a perfect time to start up Bird Bingo again.
He'd been there for about an hour or so, and checked off quite a few interesting specimen: black-capped chickadees, pileated woodpecker... a few others, but those were more memorable. Just as he was starting to pack up, he noticed someone reading on a different bench, a ways away. "What are you reading? Something popular? Must be good, to be out here this late."
"i did, know a few people that had been harmed really well and the rest i've known just in passing. i work at the hospital, i saw a lot close up. there were a few ones that were quite frightening more than the others. i wouldn't want anyone to have to go through that" she'd watched people lay in coma's for months and their loved ones tearfully sit by their bedsides begging for the other to wake up. it had been heart-wrenching to watch. "did you know anyone?"
Kronk couldn't imagine having to be that close to the issue. It wasn't like you could just walk away when it was your job. "That must have been hard. No, thankfully. I don't what I would do, if that were to change. Or god forbid, if something happened to me. I wouldn't want my family to worry. I'm sorry, if you don't want to talk about it I understand."
hearing his laugh, wendy couldn't help but laugh along. she found kronk's laugh infectious and it wasn't hard to end up laughing along with him. whatever peter had been trying to scare kronk off with, it clearly hadn't worked.
with the whirlwind of being swept up in their budding romance, wendy hadn't given much thought that eventually that she would actually introduce kronk to her family until they had dived into their conversation. sure, the idea was there but that would become reality "my dad and brothers have sweet tooths, you could definitely win them over with cakes. i think my mum would be impressed at the jump rope skills, i know my brothers will be jealous of them" she grinned.
wendy had been so fixated on kronk that she hadn't noticed some guests were slowly making their way off the dancefloor "it is, the day has been lovely and i'm glad there's not been any drama for the couple. james and tina have thought of everything, i'm happy for them"
Kronk made a mental note of all the pointers Wendy was giving him. It wasn't that he felt the need to bribe them, he probably would have brought some sort of dish or dessert anyway, more as a friendly gesture. But it did give him an idea of what to talk about. Being bad at small talk wasn't the worst thing in the world, but it helped if you knew where to start. "Don't worry, I won't do too much bragging," he joked.
As much as he wished he could say he was confident that it would go well, he was a little intimidated by the idea that Wendy's family may expect a lot. His resume didn't stack as high as hers. But, he was successful in his own right, and hoped that was enough.
"Me too," he smiled, leaning down to give her a gentle kiss. When he raised his head, he noticed that the crowd on the floor was quickly diminishing, and so he held his hand out to her. "Come, there's a lot more to do and celebrate throughout the night." With that, he gently pulled her off the dance floor, to explore what the rest of the night had in store.
"Kronk" Misty said with a fond smile as she walked over sitting at the table with her best friend, "Just the man I was looking for." she said smile growing. "I need a table for two for Valentines Day and for you not to say anything weird about it" she said with an eyebrow rand finger raised. "What kind of dessert?" she inquired.
Kronk turned when he heard his name, and smiled widely. "Hey, Misty." He was grateful to hear that she wanted a table, and also just happy to see her. Why she needed it or who she was bringing wasn't really his business. "Zero weirdness, I promise. I'm thinking about having a small selection; finally perfected that Bananas Foster recipe. Remember that disaster?" he laughed, shaking his head. "Then I was thinking about going with a cheesecake, and maybe Crème brûlée. I wanted to do something more enticing than cupcakes, you know?"
[ 🎀 ]ㅤ.ㅤwhat is their main love language ?
OOC: Kronks love languages are quality time and acts of service. The way he gives / shows love is by doing things for others. This could include making dinner, cleaning up, making sure a partner has a nice cozy spot to come back to if they're having a hard day, things like that. However, the way he enjoys receiving love is through quality time. Growing up as a middle child was a little difficult in the attention department, so it means a lot to him when a partner or even a friend gives him undivided quality time and affection.
"Oh, I thought because it's for Valentine's Day it was implied that a date was required," Anna began to over explain. "Since it is the day of all things love." While being single another Valentine's Day sucked, Anna was excited to find out she could still get her free dessert after all. "You will for sure see me there," she told him. "What is the dessert anyways? Or is it a surprise?"
"You could bring whoever you want, or no one at all. That's entirely up to you," he shrugged. He wasn't one to judge. He was feeling a bit guilty that he was working on Valentine's day, but he already had a plan to make it up to Wendy. "Glad to hear it. As far as the dessert... well, that is yet to be seen. I've got a few different ideas up my sleeve, but I want to make sure that whatever it is, it's easy to mass produce but still gets the love and care required to make it taste good. Does that make sense?" Kronk chuckled, hoping she would understand.
"Free dessert?!" Anna exclaimed, she couldn't pass up such a sweet deal. Then she realized it was for Valentine's day. She had been single since the breakup with Hans and hadn't gone on any dates since. "But I won't be able to go. How am I going to find a date in time?"
Kronk saw the disappointment in the womans face, and offered a smile. "Who said anything about needing a date? It's just a business tactic, to get more customers. But no matter the party size, the invitation stands. Anyone who comes in, as long as they order something from the menu, gets a free dessert. Made in house, by yours truly."
"Evangeline's is taking reservations for Valentine's day! Everyone who comes will get a complimentary dessert, so, make sure you tell your friends."
@happieststarters
Evangeline's was just as busy as usual. Kronk had thought that the holidays would be the busiest, of course, and it was, but with Valentine's day right around the corner, reservations were just stacking up. He knew that he would need to hire some more people before summer time anyway, so why not start now? Glancing at the clock, he finished up the task he was working on and headed to the front, as any minute now his next interviewee should be arriving.
Right on the dot, he saw someone walking in, and headed over there with a warm smile. "Hi, are you Kit?"

if she was being honest, wendy was worried that peter might have scared kronk away. some people might've not wanted anything to do with the ongoing drama of peter, and wendy was thankful that kronk was patient and understanding enough to put up with him. "no one can relate to him on his level. peter is his own entity" she doubted even the lost boys could truly fully understand the unsolvable rubix cube of peter pan.
she smiled at kronk mentioning that he'd like to meet her brothers "i think that could be arranged. they're going to love you. my parents seem intimidating but it's the academics in them, they'll ease up" that didn't mean that wendy didn't have her apprehensions. her parents were not easy people to win over but if anyone could win them over it would be kronk. wendy listened in pure awe at his jump rope skills "that is incredible. what a wonderful talent to have"
Kronk couldn't help but laugh, as Wendy talked about Peter. What she was saying -though Kronk didn't know him on a personal level- seemed pretty accurate, based on his own experience and interaction with Peter. It was nice to know though, that it may not have been as personal as it seemed. He was sure that there was a level of personal offense on Peter's side, but when you play with fire around delicate bridges, some are sure to burn.
It was a little overwhelming to try and guess what Wendy's parents might think of him. Realistically, on the academics front, Kronk was never that smart. He passed his classes, but they certainly weren't all As and Bs. He didn't pursue anything higher, as he just didn't feel he would be good at it, but what he did know, was that he cared very deeply for Wendy, and he hoped they would see that. "I don't suppose they would be impressed by cake making and jump roping, would they?" he joked.
"I'm glad you think so." Kronk had honestly almost forgotten they were at a wedding, as the two of them continued dancing. As the song was coming to an end, however, and he looked around at the other guests starting to branch off, he smiled softly. "It really is a lovely ceremony, isn't it?"
kronk deserved a sainthood for putting up with peter and his antics. wendy was relieved that whatever the run in he had with peter hadn't driven him away. "i appreciate you doing it with him. he's stubborn and he's used to getting whatever he wants, he's being childish"
wendy contemplated his question and it had her arriving at the answer "i didn't. my parents demanded a lot from me, they still do. if i wasn't doing any of those, i was studying or looking after john and michael" she hadn't considered that it was all too much, it was something she had always been used to, but now that kronk asked about them it did seem a lot for anyone never mind a child. she smiled while she listened to kronk talk about his hobbies. hearing the revelation of jump rope, wendy stopped "really? how did you end up competing?"
Honestly, dealing with Peter had gone a lot better than he thought it might. It was inevitable that at some point they would have met, and he was fairly certain that wouldn't be the last time. However, for now, it seemed that things were settled. "I wish I could relate, but maybe it's better that I can't." Kronk was the middle of five, he rarely got special treatment.
Wendy not ever getting time to discover what it was that she actually enjoyed for herself didn't sit right with him, but at the same time he'd known her for long enough now to sort of understand that her family dynamics were a lot different than his. At the mention of her brothers though, he smiled. "I'd like to meet them sometime, if that would be okay. And your parents, though that is a little more intimidating." Letting out a chuckle, Kronk prepared to tell the story. "Well, I spent a lot of time outside when I was younger, and one day they were having a talent show at school, and my sister dared me to sign up. The only thing I was really good at was jump rope. So... I tried out, got in, and won. Then I decided to keep going."
"What? You seriously think a demon's gonna get summoned outta that board?" Granted Colt really had no idea what you were and were not supposed to do with a Ouija board, but he would be hard-pressed to believe a demon could come from it. "It's jus' a goofy game. If someone tries to get it t' spell out 'you suck,' d'you really think a demon's behind that?"
Okay, so maybe a game made by Hasbro wasn't exactly a prime spot for demon lounges, but he'd heard some freaky stories about them that made him not want to chance anything. "I don't know, it could happen... I've heard they can possess a variety of things."

It's called Sunshine. Sunshine? Have you met me?
@wendydxrling
"after everything that's happened people are cynical and that feeling of being on the defence won't go away overnight" there was something in the air. she knew what he meant, the atmosphere still felt charged "in theory yes, but i'm not sure people will feel safe for a long while. it's ben traumatic. we've all almost lost loved ones over this on more than one occasion."
Kronk nodded slowly. That made a lot of sense. Still, he wondered if the woman had personal connections to anyone affected. "That's true... I suppose we'll all have to slowly work through our feelings about this. Did you know anyone that was harmed by it?"
