I keep saying there are literally millions of good reasons to wear a respie in public, and people keep ignoring me.
"it's just growing pains" -> "you're too young for that to hurt that bad" -> "you just need to get in better shape" -> "welcome to being old, everyone is in pain"
fascinated by the terf buzzword "male violence" because I've yet to see a real explanation of what unique property is shared between cisgender men and transgender women that lends some kind of special power to any violence committed by them
a lot of the times it's used seem to come from the oversimplification "men oppress women, ergo 'males' oppress 'females,' and I think trans women are male, ergo there is no material, systemic, or social difference between the classes of cisgender men and transgender women, so we can simply reason about transgender women as if they are part of the same category"
alternatively it's a complete refusal to understand or acknowledge the systems that permit and encourage men to commit violence, attempting to explain men's behavior entirely through their bodies (while simultaneously flattening and denying any bodily differences between cisgender men and transgender women, regardless of medical transition, for the purpose of grouping trans women together with men)
saw a post about this earlier but it made me think: tumblr really is the only social media site where I go on and have a good time and then carry on with my day. I know it's completely curated because there are some awful people here but that (the curation) in itself is a privilege of the site. Every other social media site is designed to make you angry for more engagement
Settler colonialism engages offensively but through the language of self-defense in order to rhetorically flip the position of victim and victimizer
Well yes we are destroying their ability to sustain themselves across generations, but they struck out in retaliation to our initial violence and destruction of the environment that sustains their lives so if you think about it, we are actually the victims.
I also think that the strength gap is at least partially manufactured women would in fact be stronger overall if little girls were encouraged to do physically taxing games and activities and eat their fill while theyāre growing vs having to constantly diet and be sedentary indoors (or god forbid do intense cardio while under-eating). The amount of adult women honestly afraid to lift weights bc they think theyāll get bulky as though bulking isnāt a full time job that athletes have to spend all their time on and anyone on earth gets shredded from just using their adult muscles for their intended purpose, girl your bone density š„
if you say women are intentionally nerfed from birth in 2026 people look at you like youāre insane and start condescendingly telling you about how women are just better at different things (but not during their periods haha) but this was a completely basic feminist talking point I grew up with like āgirls can do it too! [shot of little girls climbing and running with boys]ā nickelodeon commercial tier base level I hate it how is everyone suddenly dumber than the average 7 year old

u people have got to get more normal ab people who don't make sense to u . I mean like people who ramble on and don't know how to have proper conversation . people who are completely incomprehensible . people who talk about delusions and hallucinations . people who can't understand social cues . people with speech impediments or no speech at all . people with vocal tics . not just because it's the decent thing to do but also bc this is most common in the most vulnerable marginalized people . youth , elders , mentally ill , disabled , addicts as well as more generally people with accents & non English speakers .
and stop calling the police on us !!!!!!
Talking about these things

how do i put this. I think it's important to take some responsibility for the state of the world. I think it's also important not to feel guilt over it. That you are obliged to take some responsibility does not imply that you are guilty of something; it's just a matter of being an adult human being in society. The responsibility is to act to change things for the better on the basis of your actual ability & capacity. Guilt for things you did not do does not help you in that.
