Sims 4: A Life Lesson
Most people with a computer have probably played Sims once or twice before. If youāre like me, youāll play incessantly for about a week⦠then not pick it up again for 3 months. The cool thing about Sims is that you can do anything. You can build and furnish a house, get a job with a single phone call, and become good at literally anything as long as you practice enough. You can become an artist or an athlete or a cook, you can fall in love and start a family. Like I said, you can do anything.Ā
Well, almost anything. When I was playing Sims recently, I picked up on a tiny little detail that sends a huge message. You see, when you click on another Sim and choose an interaction, it automatically starts⦠with one exception: WooHoo. If you select this action for a Sim, the first thing that happens is that sim approaches the other Sim and has a conversation with the other. Before WooHoo-ing, Sims always get consent. Both parties enthusiastically consent in the action before it can occur.
So, go play Sims, and if anyone tells you to stop, just tell them youāre fighting rape culture by playing.
