The Red Queen

So 5x02 was a delight for those of us who are #mackson and #kabby fans (guilty as charged). However there were a couple of scenes that warmed my #niytavia heart (her giving Octavia the book because of Bellamy). I saw reactions to Jaha’s death before I got the chance to see the episode. I know a lot of people were moved by, but I have to say I’m probably in the minority on that. Jaha, overall, is not my favorite character. I found him selfish and short sighted. His death may have seemed sweet but he sent Octavia on the path to being a blood thirsty commander. I would have rather seen her take the path that Lexa was attempting to take. As Clarke said “Lexa was special. Shew was working towards peace. Blood must not have blood.” Considering that Indra is Octavia’s mentor it seemed that it would be fitting that Octavia would follow in Lexa’s footsteps rather than the man who floated her mother and would have floated her if he had the chance. I also feel that Octavia betrayed the reason why Roan teamed up with her at the conclave. He wanted humanity to survive so he teamed up with the very person and kru he felt had both lied to and betrayed him. He wanted something different than the life he was use to. Finally, Octavia fought in the conclave in the spirit of Lincoln. He would not have wanted this future for his people. He was done with the fighting. If it weren’t for Octavia and the people captured by Pike, he would have joined Luna. Final thought: I found it interesting how Indra (a seasoned warrior) was trying to set a different tone for Octavia but it was Gaia that wanted her to portray this blood thirsty image. It makes me question Gaia’s motives since she came into the picture.

The 100 is back!!

Some quick thoughts: They hit with feels pretty early. Lexa’s throne, Jasper’s goggles, Polis and Arkadia destroyed. 20 minutes of just Clarke was pure genius. Madi showing up was a surprise. I thought she at first an hallucination of Clarke because she reminded me of Luna at first. Emori and Murphy are broken up, makes me sad. I will be honest, I did not actually see Becho becoming a thing. I’m glad they didn’t thrust them together right away. Sounds like Echo had to work to regain Bellamy’s trust. Excellent season opener
