5/15/15 Block B Japan Tour 2015 Warugaki Showdown
I wanted to share my concert experience at Block B Japan Tour 2015 Warugaki Showdown. I have been a Block B fan for about 2 years now since I saw Very Good shortly after it came out. I was luckily that I was able to see them during their US showcase in June 2014 since my hometown is only an hour from Miami. Then, I moved to Japan in August 2014 and I was able to join their Japanese fan club. Since then I went to the fan meeting in Tokyo in December 2014 and the Happy New Year Live Show in January 2015. Yesterday, I arrived to the concert venue about 2 hours before they started selling the concert merchandise. I was able to get everything I wanted and then I had about another 2 hours before the doors opened at 6. The process of entering the venue is that they let everyone in based on their number on their ticket. For every concert since the fan club opened, the fan club members get priority of registering for a ticket first then everyone else later. Based on that I was able to get a decent number of 526 which is the lowest number I had for all of their concerts so far. I was able to get a spot in the middle probably 3-4 sections from the stage. The concert lasted for about 2 and half hours. They played a lot of their songs. Of course they played all of the recent songs but also Action, 100% Synchronized, Let Them Know, Mental Breaker, No Joke, Movie’s Over, etc. They also performed the Japanese versions of Very Good, Nalina, and the new Japanese versions of Her, Nice Day, and Movie’s Over. Zico had a solo stage and performed Tough Cookie and then did a rap “battle” with Park Kyung by performing Lol. Another surprise was they started to play the melody to Mental Breaker (I think) when no one was on stage and it was cut off then the screen changed to say “New challengers appear” then a select a player image showed up with the members picture and they selected PO, U-kwon, and B-bomb. BASTARZ! So at that point everyone freaked out including myself because PO is my bias. They first perform Charlie Chaplin (So surprising!) and then Zero for Conduct. It was amazing. After Block B ended the show they came back for encore probably performed like 5 more songs. Overall, the show was crazy with light effects, streamers, background videos, and during the one of the last songs of the encore they had these hearts made out of Styrofoam with a plastic tips which allowed to glide. I was actually able to grab one! During the encore, the members were throwing shirts and towels and even their used sweat rags to the audience. Then since it was so hot at the end of the concert they started to spray the audience with water especially Jaehyo. He even threw the empty water bottle in the crowd and people went crazy. Of course during the show Block B took several breaks to talk with the audience and have some fun. It’s interesting to compare to their show in America where for the most part everything was translated from Korean to English. But they actually speak in Japanese during the whole concert. Only at the end when they were trying to convey how grateful they were to the audience it was translated. Unfortunately, since my Japanese is not that good yet I didn’t understand much of what was being said during that time. Overall, it was an amazing concert and I will continue to see Block B every time I get a chance!
