Mind releasing these films in Dub somewhere for free?? I LOVE thus styles of art in anime! And I would love to watch the Fub at least once!! But I don't have any money to rent or buy these... Not everyone has a credit card

Unfortunately, due to legal reasons, the animes cannot be released in English in any other ways right now aside from their current releases on Blu-Ray, Amazon Video, and iTunes. We apologize. Our hope is that we’ll be able to offer them on a streaming platform eventually, but a streaming platform would need to express interest in the dub versions of the animes first. Please do reach out to streaming platforms that you’d like to see carry the dub and let them know!

Who's the creator behind your mascot Kuma? The artist is doing a fantastic job!

We created the mascot, but the animations were done by Alec Guarino! We’ll RT some of his work for us so you guys can check out his Tumblr!

I noticed for the Konodan dvd, it's labeled as Vol. 1. Does this mean there'll be a volume 2 in the future?

We hope so! We’d like to re-release the other Konodan shorts in a second volume with extra features, closed captions, and audio descriptions. And, if there’s any other Konodan material by then, we’d be aiming to include that too.

I know the actual dubbing process is handled by Sound Cadence, but how much are you guys, the licencors and distributors, actually involved in the whole production?

We worked very closely with Sound Cadence, so all of the casting choices, scripts, etc. filtered through us as they worked on it. We also sent all of these things back to the original company & creator in Japan for approval, so everything passed through everyone’s hands at some point. But, Sound Cadence handled the bulk of the actual production-- including writing the English scripts, casting the actors, actually recording the show-- that was all handled by them. We just approved and oversaw as things went along, and we also were the link back to Japan to ensure everything was OK as the dubbing process progressed.

Our job as the distributor really came in with getting the dub on digital sales platforms, and is currently ramping up again as we prepare the shows for their physical Blu-Ray release.

I didn't even know the Kono Danshi franchise had any drama cds! I'm so excited you have no idea. Are you planning on making this a thing with future titles you pick up that have drama cds?

We’d like to! If the Drama CDs are available, we think including them as a special feature on the Blu-Ray will be very fun and rewarding for collectors! We imagine that this may be a rarer occurrence than we’d like, but we will be keeping our eyes peeled.

Kuma Holdings is proud to announce that Soubi Yamamoto's Drama CD project, This Boy Will Be Called a Villain, will be coming to Blu-Ray in The Kono Danshi Collection, Part 1! The audio drama will be presented as a special feature on the Blu-Ray, included alongside the main anime programs, This Boy Is A Professional Wizard and This Boy Suffers From Crystallization.

This clip is an exclusive preview of the English dub, but the audio drama will also be available to listen to in Japanese with subtitles as well. Yes, that is the plan! We hope that if our This Boy releases do well, we will be able to bring more and more obscure and underrated shows stateside. So any support helps us get closer to that goal!
