[ƸӜƷ] ❝Oh!❞ Mio lowered the camera. She had to remember that not everyone was happy to be photographed. But in that moment she totally forgot about it.
❝S-Sumimasen!❞ After saying that, the girl made a bow.
Her lip twitched up into a tiny smirk- she was pleased that she had gotten such quick results. However she wasn’t fully convinced this was an innocent coincidence, even if the girl had been quick to apologize.
“Who sent you?” The ninja demanded, drawing her weapon in a single, swift movement.
Kunimitsu didn’t plan on attacking the girl outright, unless she uncovered a true reason to be so suspicious of her.
Raven’s motives were indeed for his own personal gain; the ninja had made this clear back when Lars had thanked him for his aid. Allies today, enemies tomorrow—a saying that would not fizzle from his memory.
With that in mind, Lars could only assume that Raven had crossed this kunoichi at some point in time, and if he didn’t want his location known, that encounter had most certainly been a poor one. Regardless if their status as allies was void or not, Lars knew better than to squawk when someone was hiding. That, and he wasn’t entirely sure he could trust this woman.
“You should know intel like that doesn’t come free,” Not in the literal sense, but he didn’t share information without mutual benefit, “I do indeed have information on him, but lack his location. In order for you to obtain that, I need to know if I can trust you.”
And trust was not something he gave easily.
All at once her overzealous schemes were dropped in the face of his reasonable terms. The price of the information she desired was not a steep one, in theory, but it seemed much moreso given her character. The Manji hadn’t kicked her out because she was a paragon of honesty and trustworthiness.
“I understand.” Dropping to a knee before him without warning, her weapon was unsheathed just as suddenly, but quickly brandished non-threateningly, joined with the fist clenched around it in sitting just above her heart.
“You have my word,” she swallowed still-dinged pride as she readied to make promises she absolutely had to keep, “until you deem me worthy of this knowledge- I will be in your service.” She was prepared to do anything tasked of her, should things go as smoothly as she’d like. Assassination was a skill comfortable nestled in her repertoire- having such a person in his employ would certainly be appealing to the man. After all, no one was without their enemies...
“My blade is yours. Do you accept?”
The Manji are staunch environmentalists, nobody has any respect for Kazuya’s hair, Kunimitsu is fucking ripped, and apparently Jacks are hackable if you’re an experienced A/C mechanic. And Kunimitsu has some devoted follower man to whisk her away to safety when she gets her ass kicked.
Bless these comics and their inability to decide on a font.

While she had been on television before during her handful of Tekken tournaments, the ninja was suspicious about a lone girl and her camera. Even if she looked like she was only in school, that meant nothing if she was some kind of hired stalker.
“Oi!” She exclaimed, pointing to the camera the girl was holding. She shook her head, a silent way of saying she wasn’t keen on having her picture taken.
[[In the midst of getting out replies and starters, it’s totally necessary that everyone knows about a very important purchase I’ve made.
Soon.]]
Rarely did she have to call other warriors. Clans did oft not work smoothly together, especially in the supernatural hunt. ‘The Fox Ninja’ was a tale among her clan, and Taki was aware now that she needed such a legend’s assistance.
She would have been beset by disappointment had the ninja not responded with such frightening speed. Taki was impressed to say the least, and thus, out of respect, she remained unarmed.
❝ We have a mutual enemy. A demon plagues your homeland. ❞
“Demon?”
Her weapon remained drawn, though her stance settled into one more fitting for conversation. The woman’s entrance and words were enough to keep the redhead interested, albeit wary of where this seemed to be headed.
“Explain. Why does this concern me?”
It seemed cold, but she was not as noble as her former clan leader, Yoshimitsu. When she took to the task of slaying anyone, or anything, it was for profit- not heroism. Though after her answer, her thoughts were drawn to the few things she could lose to this mysterious demon.
Having others creep up on him was not something he would allow himself to become habituated to. Once he turned and got a good view of who had approached him, part of him was relieved in an eerie sense upon realizing she was a kunoichi.
The mysterious woman opened the conversation with a question, one that Lars was hesitant to answer. Few people knew of Raven and what his job entailed, “Considering the fact that you’ve sought me out specifically, I think you know the answer to your question.” He did indeed know Raven, but his whereabouts were something currently missing from his mental repertoire.
“I can only assume you’re looking for him.”
Kunimitsu pursed her lips, forgetting for a moment that the gesture wasn’t hidden as it would have been in the past. It didn’t matter either way that he was right, but it still stirred a minor annoyance to have her air of mystery shattered so easily. “Indeed,” she confirmed with a quick nod.
It was wishful thinking to expect he’d have information in spades, but as it was Lars is the closest link she’d found to the other ninja. Impatience fed a variety of scenarios into her thoughts; anything from elaborately befriending this man to orchestrating a hostage style meetup crossed her mind. Whichever path she chose, she resolved that she would not end this meeting without progress.
“What do you know of him? His location?” Arms crossed, she tentatively closed some of the gap between them as nonchalantly as possible. Kunimitsu knew a fight at this stage would destroy any chance she had at getting this information.
The businessman’s attention had been on his Violet Systems ™ Experimental Smart Phone. (VSESP for short.) You truly know you’ve made it in the world when you have to contemplate a trade show and check your stocks and talk to secretaries, ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Absorbed in this world of commerce he suddenly COLLIDED with someone, not something, that was certain. The shock caused the prototype electronic to slip from his ‘iron’ grip, with a theatrical display he juggled the device until his composure (and the phone) were regained.
“I’m perfectly fine, my dear! Tahaha~!” Lee chuckled in a manner one could describe as showy. “It is all my fault, to have such a low attention span in the hustle and bustle of a city like this. Really I should be asking you if you’- Say, don’t I know you from somewhere…”
He slipped his phone into the pocket of his dress pants, a thumb now resting under a full lip, as he pondered the ‘stranger’ before him.
Though she huffed a quiet laugh at the fumbling she’d caused, she had to give him credit for the nice recovery. The amusement was short-lived, however, as she realized she wasn’t going to be able to rush off as she usually did in this particular hustle. Damn his sociable nature.
"Know me?" She echoed, brows furrowing beneath her mask. Her thoughts nagged her to figure out who exactly this exuberant man was, but they weren’t enough to overpower the growing need to remove herself from the situation before things got bad.
Shaking her head, she tucked the pilfered wallet into her waistband so that she could clasp her hands in a gesture of politeness. “You must be mistaken.” She hoped that he was, and that she wasn’t forgetting an important face, or voice rather, from the past.
Taking an inconspicuous step backwards, she gave him an apologetic bow. “Sorry. I must go.”

Suddenly unnerved, the kunoichi realized she was not alone. It was usually her that was sneaking up on people- not the other way around. Eyes narrowing beneath her mask, she gave no warning before she used a nearby tree to flip towards the stranger, weapon preemptively drawn.
Her stance faltered for a moment with her first actual glimpse of this stranger and their rather... striking appearance, but she was quick to regain her composure.
"State your business," she called out curtly, uncaring if it was presumptuous to think there was a reason for this woman’s presence.

Kunimitsu had been tracing the Manji’s footsteps for far too long to be doubting herself now. It’d been quite some time since she had seen the man in person, but whoever she was spying upon now- it had to be him, right? No one else would dare have such an... eccentric air about them.
It was almost intimidating, in a way, and made her all the more aware that he had been polishing skills in tournaments she’d not gotten the chance to compete in. Still, she’d come this far. She couldn’t afford to let a meeting, successful or not, slip through her fingers.
But perhaps a different approach rather than her instinct to charge into battle was needed.
Flipping down from her elevated vantage and into visual range, she crouched before her former leader. “Yoshimitsu,” she kept her tone even, slow. “I must speak with you.”
[[Hup, so first off I'm thankful to anybody who reads this & by extension is rad and following me. Just wanted to drop a little 'bear with me' note as I kick off this blog. “You...”
Kunimitsu nudged a hand beneath her mask, allowing herself to peer at Lars with a vague sense of familiarity as she emerged into his line of sight from a location undefined. As a ninja and a thief, she was accustomed to lurking in secrecy and sticking her nose where it didn’t belong.
While she had been wanting to get close to another ninja, Raven, a known acquaintance of his would do. How deep that relation ran, however, and how much she would be able to glean about it, depended entirely on how open this man was feeling.
“Do you know a man named Raven?” While she felt she should expand on the question, she remained silent for now. With her intentions non-malicious, for him at least, ideally her sudden approach would be received well enough.

In an uncharacteristic display of clumsiness, Kunimitsu found herself stumbling into the man before her, their shoulders colliding roughly. A stagger kept her from toppling over completely- something only she was at risk of, being the smaller of the pair. As she stood up straight her masked gaze whipped towards the man, giving him a frown of apologetic surprise.
“I’m sorry. Are you alright?”
As one hand reached out in a tentative offering of concern, the other slid behind her back with his wallet in tow.
