what’s truly sending me is that we’re not allowed to bring up bucky or his relationship with steve at all when discussing endgame, without coming across as biased and delusional and it’s like. bucky was important enough to pick up the shield in the first place, it wasn’t about becoming captain america or saving those soldiers, steve was willing to w a l k there, for even the smallest chance that bucky might be alive, he was important enough to then drop it not just once, but twice. he was important enough to dismantle the avengers and fight tony bloody, and he was important enough for steve to be willing to die right then and there on the spot if he couldn’t get through to him and break seventy years of brainwashing. but he did break it. why? because their bond runs deeper than anything hydra or anyone else could could ever touch. that’s the story you’ve been telling us since catfa. so why is bucky not a valid argument now? you write them as fixtures of each other’s story arcs, you call them soulmates, you call their relationship a love story, and then you turn around and call your audience delusional for expecting their happy ending to involve one another at least in come capacity. your whole story relies on the two of them being ride or die for each other, fighting for that love over and over again, and always, always, always losing each each other in the end. so forgive me if i’m not satisfied with them living out the rest of their lives not only in different centuries, but in completely different timelines, never having gotten an ounce of pay off or closure for everything they’ve been through.

okay okay but that scene after neibolt, when Beverly realises the scars are gone, and mike says “nothing lasts forever”, and Richie looks up suddenly, that’s him remembering about the bridge. when he goes back again the letters are starting to fade too, compared to the other carvings we see. but he recarves them because he doesn’t want that scar to heal. it was so much more than reminiscence for him he was literally trying to grasp onto whatever he had left of eddie and im just so fucking sad!!!!
