A princess accidentally wrongs a witch and is cursed so that no man shall ever love her. Fortunately, the princess is a lesbian, and is overjoyed. When the witch finds out her spell backfired she is furious, and goes to confront the princess. Except now that she’s a little calmer, the princess is super cute? Sparks fly, and not because of a magic spell.
Okay, so I wrote something for this prompt a while ago, and I never got around to posting it, so here it is:
Royal Witch Beck Youngblood was crafting her latest potion when a knock sounded at her workshop door.
“Come in your Highness.” She let out a sigh of exacerbation.
“How did you know it was me?” Princess Aenor swiftly opened the door, one hand on the frame and another on the doorknob, allowing her to tilt forward without falling, her auburn hair framing her grinning face with an annoying amount of elegance as she spoke.
“It’s always you.” That wasn’t completely true, occasionally it was a messenger sent by Aenor’s father, King Lancelyn, with a commission for a spell to help his armies in battle or to have a better harvest, but these instances were few and far between.
“I guess I have been coming by a lot.” Aenor stepped forward to nudge the door closed with her foot.
“Understatement of the century.” Beck mumbled as she poured a purple liquid she had forgotten the name of into her cauldron, causing it to bubble.
Aenor snorted and walked over to the cabinet where Beck kept all her ingredients. She opened it and started rummaging through it, inspecting every bottle, plant, and the other assorted items one by one.
“Did you need something, Princess?” Beck began stirring her creation with a ladle.
“Yes, as a matter of fac-” Aenor’s hand knocked over a bottle, letting out a yelp of surprise.
Beck paused her stirring, placed the ladle on a nearby table and rushed over to the pile of glass and a green liquid. She squatted to get a closer look and she was able to read the piece of glass with the label of what had once been the bottle. Her eyes widened as the words sank in.
“This ingredient was priceless! It took me three years to brew it perfectly!” Beck glared at Aenor, an intense rage building inside her. “All of that is now wasted thanks to you!”
“Look, Beck, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to.” Aenor looked truly sorry, but Beck didn’t care, she was too high on rage.
“I don’t care.” Beck stalked over to her cauldron, grabbed a mug, and scooped some of her work in progress into the mug with the ladle.
“Woah, Beck, what are you doing?” Aenor backed up a step towards the door.
“Three years of hard work down the drain. Did you know one of the ingredients to make what you so carelessly destroyed was a dragon’s tooth? I had to fight a dragon and remove its tooth. It was both physically and mentally painful, and now thanks to you, I have to do that again.” Beck got up close to Aenor, until they were almost nose to nose and she poured the contents of the mug on Aenor’s head, saying a short incantation as she did. “In case you’re wondering, I cursed you so that no man will ever fall for you. So maybe next time you come in here like you own the place, you’ll be more careful around my ingredients!”
Aenor stood there for a moment, face frozen in shock. Beck expected many emotions from her, anger, fear, sadness, but the last thing she expected from her was joy.
“Thank you so much!” Aenor pulled Beck into a hug, effectively halting Beck’s anger.
“Wait, you’re not supposed to be happy! You’re supposed to be extremely upset, like you made me upset!” Beck clamored out of Aenor’s arms and set a few feet away.
“Can I tell you a secret?”
Beck nodded earnestly, her curiosity overtaking and last remnants of anger.
“I prefer women.”
“Well that means you didn’t pay for what you did!”
“I could work as your assistant to repay you.” Aenor looked so hopeful that Beck couldn’t hope to deny her.
“I guess, but just until I’ve replaced what you ruined.”
“Yay! I’ve always wanted to learn about witchcraft!” Aenor pulled Beck into another hug, one that Beck was far less eager to get out of, her face burning.
“You’re still wet, let me get you a rag.” Beck grabbed a cloth.
“Thanks for everything, Beck. The next three years are going to be so much fun.” Aenor had a soft expression.
“Yeah, they are.” Beck handed her the rag, their hands briefly touching, and Beck swore she could see sparks fly between them.
