To all of the ML fans who question the differences between the concept art for Le Paon/Mayura and the version we saw in the season 2 finale episode...LET ME LEARN YALL A THING TLDR ANIMATION IS HARD As an artist and animation enthusiast, I can tell you that translating a 2D concept art drawing into a 3D animated model is difficult, and sometimes things are changed to accommodate technical and time limitations. As much as I love ML I often see areas where, to me, it is clear where they have to cut corners with the animation, whether that be due to budget or time or whatever else. For example, if you'll notice, most of the characters clothing is all very tight and form fitted. This means less time animating just clothes; folds and wrinkles and movement of fabrics can be hard to capture. Thus, if clothing is tighter and form fitting, you can have it follow the character's body, and spend less time on the details. Now, for Mayura's original costume, take for example the skirt is really long and follows behind her like a train. This amount of fabric would probably be difficult to animate, in terms of giving it the correct feelings of weight/gravity, movement, and texture. So they shortened it in the final animation. Additionally, 3D modeling just has a different look and feel compared to 2D; Natalie's face, hair, and eye makeup (mmph that eyeliner is killer btw) all look slightly different from the 2D concept because...it's 3D. She has fullness in her cheeks and chin but otherwise her face fits the general shape. The eyes are more angled in the concept art--her eyes are not quite as angular, but they still generally follow the design. In 3D character animation especially, it can be difficult to get an angular face to look right. 3D animation likes soft, gentle curves, not uber chiseled chins that can slice through camembert. It's sadly one of the limitations of many 3D modeling softwares. SO BASICALLY BEFORE YALL JUDGE THE ZAG TEAM FOR CHANGING MAYURAS DESIGN I am just postulating that it might not be a different Miraculous holder in the 2D art vs Natalie's appearance as Mayura (as much as I do think it is obvious Emilie was the Peacock holder and that's why she's currently KO'd), it might simply be due to limitations and differences between 2D and 3D and so things weren't able to translate properly into 3D. ON THAT NOTE MAYURA'S FEATHERS WERE BEAUTIFUL AND LIGHT AND FLUFFY AND REALISTIC YOU GO ZAG TEAM FOR ANIMATING FEATHERS THAT LOOKED SO DIFFICULT AIYAH THE TEXTUREEEEE
