HEHE AWWYEAHH well!! mostly it's because (i haven't answered the ask yet but) he was hired to assassinate her? possibly by another kingdom? and i'm not sure if i'm 100% on this but i heard the one doria rules over can be racist to non-humans so maybe vegas is from a kingdom that's comprised mostly of monsterfolk who're harassed by her people?

but like thinking abt that and the fact doria's kinda confined to the palace, it makes me wonder if everyone is aware she's blatantly not human or they all think she is (human)? bc if the kingdom knew she wasn't then it's all weird that ppl are still prejudice >:0 !!

but then on that note maybe vegas was hired by like a group WITHIN her kingdom who're super against monsterfolk so that's another reason why another party could want her off the throne, who knows

ANYWAY i bet his motivation would mostly be for the thrills and the fame and the money lmAO he's still cursed in this AU, but the nature of the curse is a lot worse than it is in canon! his abilities are literally killing him, which is why he's so lax about doing dangerous missions :3c it's bc he's going to die soon anyway

i think because of this he;s also more conscientious than he is in canon too, he just acts all conceited and insensitive to cover up the fact he's sad abt the curse...

on another tangent he’s supposed to be very Smart. he acts pretty carefree and reckless but he’s supposed to actually know what he’s Doing (which is why he’s not dead yet tbh)

despite this though he has kinda odd habits? like they’re a bit inhuman and it’s probably from his Bird half. i guess this can explain why he has little to no sense of etiquette or morality. but at the same time i feel like he’d be able to Fake it if he really tried (which means he would Know how people are Supposed to act) so i’m not sure?

furthermore he probably eats a lot because constantly flying around would require a lot of energy???

he's not really a good cook though HAHA which is probably why he steals a lot of things from restaurants. if you're a good cook and you actually Offer him food he'd grow fond of you really fast... he'd Avoid doing bad things to good cooks who give him food...

on another note. vegas likes eating meat a whole lot. he's a carnivorous bird and especially likes fish, snake, and is quite partial toward insects even though believe it or not he sometimes gets embarrassed of that. at least in public (smh at how he thinks it's weird to eat bugs but not to invade personal space or set things on fire)

he'd also be pretty fond of the taste of human flesh 8) tho that's kinda tricky because murder can be hard work (disposing bodies, not getting caught etc)

also he's probably all bird because he got cursed. i'm not sure what he was before but he probably pissed off a witch and got cursed to be a 'monster'? though it ended up backfiring because he fully embraced his new form and new powers. he has a ~curse~ form in which he becomes an actual Monster but there are probably Consequences of using it so he doesn't rly... plus he's confident enough with his own abilities not to rly care abt being overpowered
