Years later, after her death because of fucking cancer, Lyra went to find Draco. They didnât get along immediately, but after sometime, everything wasâŠokay.
âWhy is this place empty, by the way?â I asked. âItâs not that late yet. So, why is it closed already?â
âTheyâre always closed on Sundays, and today is a Sunday,â Draco said. A sneaky grin lit up his whole face as he continued. âIt doesnât mean we canât go ice-skating today, though. Thank goodness this place doesnât have Security Charm or else weâll be arrested for breaking and entering.â
âAnd what would Draco Malfoyâs fans say?â I joked, earning a chuckle from him as he took his wand out from his pocket.
âPut your hands on my shoulders, girl,â he said, facing me.
âWhy?â I asked, tilting my head to the side. He grinned and lifted my hands onto his shoulders.
âJust do it â and hold on, okay?â
I had only one second to hold onto him when he aimed his wand to my shoes before doing the same to his shoes. I felt myself getting taller than I already was as my normal-shoes change into a pair of skating-shoes. Using his shoulders to balance myself, I began to take small steps onto the ring, careful not to fall stupidly on my arse. The moment the both of our feet touched the icy surface, Draco dragged me around with him, skillfully gliding on the slippery ground while holding my hand. I let out an embarassing loud noise between a squeal and a laugh, but I didnât really care. I was having fun with the man that was my father and acting foolish was the last thing I cared about right now. Draco himself looked like he was enjoying the whole thing, laughing loudly when he fell on his bum after we both spun around so fast and let go of each other in the end. We did a lot of crazy stunts that would have surely made Ginny crazy if she saw how Draco threw me in the air and I almost failed to land on my feet. Being one of the most agile Quidditch player in my team had made sure that I would always land safely on my feet after flying dangerously. Not to mention, Mum was a fair skater and I had a lot of practise in the past with her.
âDraco, look at this!â I said. I ran as fast as I could to do a split-jump, then landed on the ground again before I did a spin and end the choreography with a bow.
âWow, that was amazing,â Draco complimented as he clapped his hand. âJust be careful youâre not going to hurt yourself. If you so much break a nail, your Godmother is going to kill me and then your mother is going to torture me when I see her in the After Life.â
I was surprised. This was probably the first time he didnât flinch when he mentioned Mum.
I went toward him and stopped by his side, catching my breath a little. I leaned closer to him so I could give him a hug and say, âThank you for doing this, Draco. This is the most fun Iâve ever had sinceâŠsince Mumâs death, you know.â
âYouâre welcome, Lyra,â he said, stroking my back gently. âYouâre very welcome, my girl.â
