“Well isn’t that sweet of her.” It was interesting to think that even though Cheryl was one of the richest people in town the only gift that she could give her cheer team is a small break from their practices. Even his coaches were friendlier than that, what with the thoughtful gifts that they gift him and his father every year, but somehow this was a lot different. “If I’m being honest Betty, I’m still trying to figure out if I’m single or not still....” The teen says before taking a small sip out of his strawberry shake.

Josie hummed as she was walking down the asile in Pop’s, her eyes scanning the diner for a seat. She’d been craving a strawberry milkshake and cheese fries all day and figured why not treat herself to some Pop’s. She walked past a sitting area and her eyes landed on a familiar dark haired boy. Was that-? “Kev!” She walked up to her friend with a smile on her face. “Hey hey hey. Mind if I join you?”

Once the person obstructing his view had finally sat down in the booth the Kevin’s smile only widened when he recognized the signature bun and cheery smile on her face. When she approached him he wanted to hug her but touching his burger already he felt that she would not have appreciated the gesture as much with a little grease getting on her always pristine outfits. “Oh, no I don’t mind at all Josie!” He gestured to the stool next to his, thankful that he came across someone he actually could enjoy his time with and not Cheryl who would act as if they were friends to him while also berating and criticizing his every move.

Hey could’ve just as easily headed home after school was over but going back to his house wasn’t an option. Moose wasn’t really in the mood to be drilled by his father and with Midge being busy that day, he was left with the only option he could think of: heading to Pop’s. Surely he would find someone there to hang out with. He opened the door to Pop’s, smile crossing his lips as he spotted Kevin on the counter. ‘’Kevin Keller…’’ He said, walking closer towards the other male. ‘’Mind if I join you?’’

As he peered over his shoulder to look over at the voice calling out to him he noticed the handsome jock that he had such a strong crush on. It’s not as big as the one he has on Archie, but it’s not quite a competition by any means. “I, uh, Moose!” He stammered a bit before chuckling nervously. He doesn’t know why he’s acting this way. Sure he’s hot, but he’s with Midge and he couldn’t do that to them. All he can do is harmlessly flirt to a certain extent, such is the life of a small time gay in a one horse town. “Of course, I mean it’s not like I can bar you from sitting anywhere.”

It wasn’t a surprise to Betty to see a familiar face at Pop’s, although if she would have known that Kevin was going she would have suggested they went together after school. A rare day with no cheer practice requirements, she almost didn’t know what to do with her spare time. “Hey, stranger,” she greeted, sidling up to the stool next to him with a wide grin. “Fancy meeting you here.”

There was a couple that obstructed his view for a moment, but even then he knew that it had to have been none other than Betty Cooper, his best friend since they were practically in diapers. Even just seeing her warm smile is probably the best part of his day. “Betty! I thought you had practice with the River Vixens?” He asked his smile only growing when she sat down next to him.

The teen felt rather hungry after school and instead of coming home to an empty home he went straight to Pop’s. Sure he was eating alone, but he wasn’t entirely alone. Just when the server dropped off his food he heard his name being called so he peered over his left shoulder to take a proper look at the person. “—Oh hey! ”
