The blood trail that led them there stopped abruptly when they stumbled upon an unseated soul reaper carrying another’s body off in the direction of the borders of the Seireitei. 

Byakuya knew it wasn’t because any of the apparent murderer’s pleas got to him considering he tuned it all out. It was just a gut feeling he couldn’t shake. Still he kept those thoughts to himself until the suspect had been taken to a cell before speaking again, “I’m going to linger a while longer.”

Mun VS Muse

Similarities 

We’re both introverts.

We both apparently have something of a ‘resting bitch’ face.

We both have very little patience for stupidity that is based solely on opinions.

We are both hard workers and are probably working are lives away.

It can be hard for a lot of people to tell when we’re joking in person.

Differences

I’d like to think I am pretty funny.

Byakuya has far better impulse control than I do.

Byakuya is far less sensitive and tends to not take things personally.

I have tattoos (and love them) where as he absolutely hates them and thinks they’re ugly.

I’m an animal lover and for the most part he is pretty indifferent towards animals.

“Ah, Rukia I had been meaning to talk to you after everything settled.” Even as he spoke he had to admit, at least to him that things still felt tense. After all Aizen’s departure was not such a simple thing and everything leading up to it wasn’t simply forgotten.

Side stepping he intentionally ignored what he presumed was an unseated officer after she tried to put her hand on his shoulder. His gaze solely on Crystal as the woman huffed then walked off.

“That was a calculated risk.” Unfortunately whoever in his division that had come up with the calculations was an idiot.

Jushiro allowed himself to bask in the WARMTH of Shunsui’s hug, for as long as it lasted, LAMENTING its loss the moment the other drew away. It wasn’t like his friend’s hugs were ever in short supply, and yet he still found himself missing them EVERY TIME they disappeared. Maybe it was that LONGING, or maybe it was the desire to keep his friend out of TROUBLE, but the captain found himself nodding in agreement to Shunsui’s offer.

“ Why not ? It’s been awhile. Though, I can’t promise to be incredible company, this LATE at night. ”

He would AVOID getting so drunk as to require being carried home, regardless of Shunsui’s offer. A few drinks, and Jushiro would bother him into going home before retiring himself. It was a sound plan, he thought.

“Ah come on Jushiro, you are great company anytime of day.” He knew he sounded as if he was joking, but even then he wondered if the other could figure out that he was completely serious. 

Deciding not to dwell on it to long he rested his palm on Jushiro’s back. Walking towards another bar, he remembered Renji and Rangiku speaking highly of. Since he hasn’t exactly gotten around to going himself he figured it was there was no better time to do it then now. 

“Come on then, since I know I can’t convince you to stay out all night.”

     Crystal knew she had to finish this quickly, now in the grasp of the Hollow before them, practically dangling like a rag doll before the Hollow; Crystal makes one final attempt to cut through the Hollow’s mask. Having no plan really, she just used her upper body strength, with one final swing of her Zanpakuto, she lands the hit, but now she has put herself in a predicament. With being so high from the ground, there was no way to grab, or position herself to land anywhere closer. 

     Hues closed as she was let go from the Hollow as it turned into A S H, and gravity soon set it. The falling sensation sets in, and she just tries to focus on at least making the blow to the ground less devastating. Silver hues soon opened widely as the sensation stopped, no more stomach up to her heart feeling, and then she saw H I M. Kuchiki-Taichou had caught her. She’s never been so close to him like this besides that one time she had him pinned, and teased the hell out him. Arms latched around the Taichou, she wasn’t one to like being picked up or carried, and there was a slight brighter pink pigment spreading across her porcelain cheeks. Crystal wasn’t sure to feel like a burden, or be grateful; perhaps B O T H is the appropriate answer. 

     He had landed on top of a building near by, before he could even release her, Crystal held on longer so she could speak to him. “I’m sorry Kuchiki-Taichou, I…shouldn’t have been so reckless.” She went with feeling like a B U R D E N. 

No sooner had he landed after the hollow managed to throw him clean through a wall had he realized that it had Crystal in it’s grasp. Ignoring the pain he was about to come to her aid when the destroyed it all on her own. He felt that small pang of relief that always came with taking down hollows until what little of it there was vanished when she started to fall. 

Breaking into a run he managed to get air borne long enough to catch her and land on the next building. The landing came hard, but nowhere near as hard as getting thrown into a stone wall. Still that didn’t stop him from nearly dropping her as soon as he feet hit the top of the building they landed on.

Ignoring her own admittance to being reckless he asked, “can you still walk?”

He didn’t want to have to carry her back, but if she couldn’t there was no way he would force her to try. It was cruel and a waste of both of their time. Though, while he wouldn’t be so uncouth as to say it out loud he genuinely hoped that she could.

“My apologies if Shunshui caused you any trouble.” He mumbled, stepping into her office. His hand resting on the back of his neck as he hoped whatever antics his dear friend had gotten into weren’t to troublesome. But then again it was Shunsui so there was truly no guarantees.

“If I had known he was coming I would have been back sooner.”
