Everyone does drugs where you come from?” He nodded, looking at to the floor again. “Yeah, me too. Um, you know if you ever want someone to talk to, you could talk to me. If you’d like.”

“It’s fine. I’m a big girl, I can handle myself. Yeah- pretty much everyone. It’s kind of just part of the everyday routine.” She shrugged and tied her hair up, the heat getting to her. “Or we could not talk and have a drink together instead?”

Wouldn’t say you’re a mess though.” Nodding, he sighed quietly. “It’s not great to bottle things up, you know. I’m not saying tell me what’s on your mind, but at least tell someone. A friend or just someone you trust.”

“Good, sometimes it gets annoying when people make me out to be the biggest bitch they ever met. If I’m the worst they’ve seen, then they’ve had a nice life.” She nodded at him. “Yeah- well thanks, I guess?” Katie gave him a small smile. “I appreciate the advice, but there’s no one I trust.”

“I’m not trying to argue or be bitchy or anything. That’s just my tone of voice. I can be a little aggy and rude sometimes.” She looked down and sighed. “Because I’m hot and I’m a mess, isn’t that obvious?” She glanced over him and folded her arms across her chest. “Of course it isn’t. But it’s the only thing that I’m willing to share.”

You could always go out and buy new one’s? Like drugs?” Tim nodded in agreement, sighing quietly. “Life does suck. I’ve recently discovered that myself. You’re not the only person who’s a mess. Because if it makes you feel any better, I am too.” 

“Don’t worry about it, I’ve lost any energy I had that cared. I can’t be bothered anymore.” Katie laughed and nodded. “I do buy new ones, I’m just prone to fights and accidents. Yeah, drugs. It’s just what you do back at home.” Katie tilted her head to the side and her eyebrows furrowed. “Actually, that does make me feel a little better. Less alone, you know?”

“Really? Gotta keep them sorts of people away from me. You don’t wanna see me when I’m feisty, it’s not a pretty sight.” Katie laughed at him and raised her eyebrows. “Have you seen the colour of my hair? It’s hard not to spot me. Plus, I’m very outspoken. I’ve practically got a flashing sign above my head, pointing me out.” Katie poured them both another drink. “It’s nice to meet you Isaac.”
