I’ve posted this before, but I have some great new information.
This flier was on the back of a letter I received from Masami Akita (Merzbow) in the early 1990′s. The name Command Bruno Sanmartino always intrigued me and I wondered about the project for years. Recently, I found that Merzbow’s Wikipedia page (and other sites copied from there) states that the project was Merzbow + Incapacitants + Violent Onsen Geisha. I asked T. Mikawa (Incapacitants) about the project and he said:
Regarding “Command Bruno Sammartino”, I had no idea so far as I am concerned. Incapacitants by itself has never collaborated with Merzbow. Then, I just remembered that Fumio and Masami Akita both used to be members of the unit named “Bust Monsters”. So, I asked Fumio about it, which gave me an answer. According to him, Command Bruno Sammartino was the name of one time live session by Masami Akita, Fumio Kosakai and Masaya Nakahara a.k.a. Violent Onsen Geisha / Hair Stylistics. It was at the event held at Koenig Showboat, Tokyo, more than 20 years ago. Fumio said that even he himself forgot about it and so surprised to hear that you had asked about it. Probably no recording of that session exists. That’s all what I came to know about it.
