i really thought a few days away would help the feeling about being on this muse and it truthfully hasn’t. 🥺 as so many others in our community have decided, i’m going to be going on an indefinite hiatus. i really thought perhaps canon diverging would help and i could focus on that, but it bothers me too much. i’m not even comfortable with the characters anymore. and that isn’t fair to the beautiful hny muse writers. it’s not your fault, lovelies. it’s sunrise’s. but i don’t want to ignore you all or give you less because of my discomfort. in truth, y*shahime just kind of ruined iy for me for awhile. i may be back, i may not. we’ll see. either way, good luck you all and be safe. ~

𝚍𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍 𝚑𝚊𝚍 𝚋𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚋𝚞𝚒𝚕𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 since their last close call left them bruised. some more than others. inuyasha’s temper was quicker to ignite and she could feel the way tension curled up and held in the taijiya. even shippō seemed less jovial than usual, a fact that kagome was keen to pick up on. in truth, she hadn’t been much better. worrying her lip, jumping from sleep at the slightest sound, even finding herself glancing over their shoulders. naraku’s breath was sticky and hot she could swear she’d felt it lingering against the nape of her neck when she’d wake from nightmares spun by him.

❝ miroku-sama, can i - can i ask you a question? ❞ kagome had waited until the hanyō was preoccupied. sango cast a glance up from her hiraikotsu and the girls shared a look before kagome pushed on. ❝ i know it’s silly to ask. and i ... i know we can do this. we have to do this, but we’ll.... we’ll make it out of this, won’t we?❞

she hated the way her voice shook and to make up for it, the young miko’s chin tilted up in defiance. brown eyes wide as they studied the hōshi.

what he said could’ve been damning, but kagome didn’t take it that way. her shoulders dropped, the semblance of a smile burning bright at the corners of her mouth before it reached her eyes. it was how he said it. how his faith seemed stronger the closer they were to danger.

where would any of them be without one another? they were family. all of them.

❝hai, together or not at all,❞ she echoes back, nodding a few times as if the words had to find a place amongst the hope she so rarely like flicker. in a burst of gratitude, she lifts herself up on tiptoe to wind her arms around miroku’s neck and draw him in to a hug. cheek pressed against the dark cloth at his shoulder, she murmurs through a sniffle. ❝ ... you smell like ramen. did you and inuyasha fight over the last cup?❞

a lot of people i respect and adore appear to be hiatusing and i can’t say i blame them at all. i’m not really sure what i’ll be doing regarding this blog considering so many friends are taking a step back. i will say, i refuse to watch further in hny. this blog never really followed canon anyway. it was already set up to be disappointing and the idea of plucking children from their parents for angsty plot is never a good one. whatever i decide to do, i can’t and won’t watch the show and add numbers to their viewings because that’s a form of support. however indirect it might be.

this is just my personal opinion, of course.

i love the creativity and the breakaway from canon the hny / new gen muses have been able to pry out of this disgusting mess. please don’t think i’m throwing shade at any of you. i just don’t support the context material, that particular ship, or giving sunrise more views.
