I LEARNED THE REASON TO BE STRONG,
MY TREMBLING HANDS WANT TO GRASP SOMETHING.
ALL I CAN CHANGE IS MYSELF.
BUT, IF YOU CAN BE STRONG FOR SOMEONE ELSE,
THANKS TO THE SADNESS.

@redratrobed SWORD CLASH--?!
asahi had ‘rested’ like his master had advised him to. but enough was enough; it had been so long. by this point, sora was different, again-- no longer half demon & half human, fully human. something had gone on in the in-between, and asahi didn’t care what.
all he cared about? sora was weaker now.
which meant ample opportunity to fight the moron!!
the strike came out of nowhere; one moment, sora had been enjoying some time to himself & the very next breath, asahi was charging him, katana at the ready. quick movement, blade against blade, but sora’s was weaker. feeble, because unlike asahi, sora couldn’t transform his tessaiga anymore.
asahi grinned, and pushed, harder, shoving force down onto that weaker blade. he felt it give, and then sora’s tessaiga SNAPPED and broke, pieces of that metal blade went flying and embedded themselves into the nearby grass and dirt.
[ THE PAST LIKE DARKNESS, GROWS. ]
Michiru jerked, turning around to face the other. He hadn’t heard them from so close. He’d just wanted a moment alone, and then he wasn’t.
“Who-? Who are you?” Michiru wondered, taking a defensive stance. “What are you doing here?”
“Why, I’m here to help you. Or are you not in the business of listening?” Kazama smiled, but his words were smooth, the way he smiled, it seemed to be just the right amount of understanding mixed with curiosity. Kazama glanced back down to his nails, “Think of me, as your wish. Or perhaps, guide may be a better word for it! Yes. You’re feeling lost, aren’t you? Hmm, well. Did what I say, interest you~?”

“You’re up pretty late.” She noted, looking to the other with curiosity in her eyes. “Something on your mind tonight?”

For a verse where Inuyasha begins to change...
A blush rose onto Inuyasha’s face, and he smiled gingerly as Michiru said that. He hummed, reaching out and gripping at Michiru’s hand. Inuyasha confidently pulled Michiru closer, gaze narrowed.
“You make me smile, so, I guess we’re even,” he chuckled, leaned closer, and kissed Michiru with such desire and need, a strength. Inuyasha breathed out, exhaling pulling Michiru closer to him, arms wrapping around his waist.
Michiru grins, his face still red with bashfulness. It was slowly evolving to mere excitement.
After the worrying and the awkwardness, and the tripping over themselves, remarkably, there was something that started with them. Something ignited. Michiru was riding a high with Inuyasha alongside him, and he never wanted to come down from it. All of his doubts were dissolved with Inuyasha’s enthusiastic acceptance, and he would continue to wrap himself in it like a weighed blanket.
He sighs dreamily, as he nuzzled Inuyasha’s forehead. “I really just want to stay like this forever.” Michiru felt like he could... His parents might have missed him if he somehow found a way to live within the feudal era proper, rather than through a facsimile of himself... It wasn’t as though he’d incredibly considered his future in the present much to begin with. It always felt like his heart was here in the past...
“What.” the word is sharp, his tone is harsh. He is all but glaring at the stupid look the half breed is giving him. “Wipe that slack-jawed look off your face.”
She wasn’t sure how, perhaps it was all the crying, the emotional drain she felt. But she had dozed off, her hand holding Mamoru’s, head laying along the edge of the futon.
She was shuddered awake by a feeling. A feeling of wrongness so strong it shot along her spine and made her straighten up in her seat and look around, noticing that the light in the control center seemed to be changing.
The screen of the main computer was flashing. She carefully deposited Mamoru’s hand on the futon with a murmured “I’ll be right back Mamo-chan,” and hurried over to it, eyes scanning the readings.
UNUSUAL ENERGY LEVELS DETECTED. UNUSUAL ENERGY LEVELS DETECTED. UNUSUAL ENERGY LEVELS DETECTED. UNUSUAL ENERGY LEVELS DETECTED.
The she clicked away the warning, brow furrowed as she read the readings gathered and tried to decipher what they meant. This was normally something for Luna and Artemis, or Ami. Not her. But she understood the location easily enough. It was the street in front of the Arcade. She glanced at her phone, checked the time.
It hadn’t been that long since... Fear chilled her, forming a pit in her stomach and she turned, dashing up the stairs as the entrance under the games reopened for her.
“MOON COSMIC POWER-- MAKE UP!”
Sailor Moon burst out of the opening between the games and dashed through the arcade, pushing open the door in the alleyway with more force than necessary. Heeled boots echoed as she caught herself in the alleyway, her heart jumping into her throat at what she saw beyond the mouth of it.
There was blood, scorch marks and the smell of burnt flesh in the air. it made her feel sick, but not as much as the sight of Kazama on the ground did.
He was so hurt, how did he get so hurt so fast?!?
Her eyes snapped to the other figure in the street, taller, with dark hair. He spoke, “You’re happy here, aren’t you?”
She saw his reaction, heard a rasped “Stop...!”
What was... What was going on? The man raised his sword and her legs propelled her forward. But even she knew, she wasn’t fast enough.
Not fast enough, not fast enough! She wasn’t Haruka with all her command of the wind and her swiftness. So she could only watch.
“Meido Zangetsuha.”
“NO-!”
“STOP!” She screamed, but it was too late. Whatever attack that was, it swallowed him whole just as she made it to the mouth of the alley and her knees trembled, the reality of what happened before her eyes settling over her.
She collapsed, legs giving out, her hand catching against the wall next to her as more tears, tears for him again, escaped her eyes. The bite of the cement against her bare knees made her completely aware that this was real. This was not a dream.
“No...” She echoed his last words, hollow, breaking, like her heart for him.
He was gone.
