Okay I know we all love "Rocky swears non-stop all the time" but have any of us considered that after four years of being shipmates with Grace and probably Grace somehow implementing a swear jar Rocky now only shouts grade school teacher level non-curses when pissed off.
Like he's working on a project with other Eridians and accidentally breaks something and shouts HORSEFEATHERS and now all of the other Eridians are losing their shit
bloodymary fans, please read the trigun maximum manga so you can make an AU where ryland grace is a plant angel that was either powering the hail mary or just somehow managed to hide his identity because i think it'd be neat if simon's savior was a literal plant + angel 😂
Here’s some more of my Grace headcanons!! This batch is a mix of pre-canon and during/post-canon

-Sore loser
-Was always the dog when playing family as a kid
-He tilts his head slightly when focusing on something, he knows it’s useless for humans to do it as it doesn’t help vision or hearing at all, but it’s a habit
-No matter how much he tries to stop it he continues to instinctively do it
-Frequently plays Just Dance on his way to Erid
-Post-Coma, remembers the big picture but has a hard time remembering small details
-He can picture what his childhood room looked like but he cannot for the life of him remember what pattern he had on his bed sheets
-He remembers that there was a specific type of bird that would always chirp outside of his classroom window before class, but he can’t remember what type of bird it was
-It doesn’t seem like too big of a deal, but it often sends Grace spiraling
-When he got to erid he asked Rocky if he could specifically program that specific bird chirp right outside the bedroom of his house.
-At some point in middle or high school, he went through every type and classification of animal and picked a specific favorite breed or type
-It does change occasionally if he has specific positive interactions with an animal, or somewhat fixates on a breed, but a shocking majority have stayed his favorite to date
-Has, on multiple occasions, caught his kids playing or looking at something on the school computers and has looked into it later only to get genuinely interested
-Found a kid playing Run 3 and ended up playing it for hours once he got home (Thinks that it’s stupid that the website is called Cool Math Gams when no one actually plays any of the math-related games on there)
-Found out about AO3 because of a kid and was flabbergasted when he saw all the smut on the website
-He was glad that it wasn’t all smut, but he was still worried about what type of fic his student was reading, at school no less
-Ended up reading a few fics from shows he likes and eventually made his own account but doesn’t post (yet. Maybe eventually he’ll get the courage to post the short fic that’s been rotting in his notes app for months)
-Likes watching Sci Fi movies and criticizing everything they did wrong
-At some point on the Hail Mary, Grace listens to Space Oddity and it makes him start loudly sobbing
-Rocky forbids him to listen to the song again because Grace’s reaction scared the shit out of him
-Grace does notice when people flirt with him but he just continuously tells himself he’s reading too far into it until the person straight up tells him they like him
My Personal Headcanon™ is that like Humans, Eridians have a ingrained instinctual sense of what is 'cute' - that, also like us, is tied to the similarity to the appearance and/or the behaviour of their offspring (which I will call 'pebbles' from this point on.)
So what if... humans do a few things that are adorable to Eridians...?
Think about it! There are fully grown creatures that we find adorable because they do something that humans find inherently cute! Heck - look at this fandom - a lot (most) of us probably want to be best friends with a ROCK SPIDER ALIEN. (I know I do!)
So imagine:
Grace: *Bumps into table for the 1000th time like a pebble learning to get their footing*
Grace: *Humming unbeknownst to him an Eridian phrase he heard Rocky say once and sounds like a pebble trying to learn to speak*
Grace: *snoring which happens to sound just like pebble happy-rumbling-purr sounds*
Grace: *tapping random rhythm not unlike a pebble trying to get a good view of something*
Grace: *Curling as close to Rocky as possible through the xenonite barrier like a pebble seeking comfort*
All of which would remind any Eridian of a pebble, and so Rocky finds it all adorable.
Also:
Rocky: Friend-Grace is gross leaky space blob, statement!
Grace: ??? *Was just minding his own business when he randomly sneezed* *sounded just like a pebble 'sneezing'*
(Translation: You're adorable - how dare you)
The Ryan Gosling universe is either the funniest concept to grace this earth or the worst prison we've ever created.
Cause what do you mean there's this huge ass family who all look exactly alike because those genes are strong and they all have their own side adventures going on but they still check in on each other when they can because family is family.
But also, don't look too closely as any of their past and histories because there's trauma under literally every stone. And also, they will lose some of their identical family members because their side adventure got too dangerous and now the rest of them have to grieve their brother/cousin/clone(?)/however they're related because there was no way to change the outcome.
k but imagine Rocky wanting to learn about how humans became the apex predators of their planet so he has Grace “hunt” him in the biodome as an experiment and during it he thinks Grace isn’t trying or taking it seriously which is bad bad bad because this is for research purposes
only for Rocky to get more and more tired as the experiment goes on just to realize that Grace isn’t which makes him panic so he puts as much distance as he can between them and finds a (hopefully) safe spot to sleep and when he wakes up the human is crouching over him like “got youuu” and Rocky has never shrieked so damn loud before in his life
