Heya! I'm Mouse, or Rat, or Mikal, I go by a lot of different names.

I post whatever I feel like really, mainly hyperfixations. I have ADHD and I have a LOT of hands-on things I enjoy, which are art related, and I'll probably post them on here.

Anyways, it irritates me to my core whenever people speak of animals because how they treat them is genuinely insane

Almost everyone treats animals like their toys or something cool to own, like decoration

And it's so infuriating because all animals have some level of sentience.

They should be treated like equals when it's not a means for survival.

So many people view animals as lesser than them just because they don't have consciousness like humans do. But that doesn't mean they are any less than us or any less sentient to some extent.

I don't know what it is about people's need to dominate things. It's so fucking weak that you need to exert power over something that didn't even do anything.

This need to own animals is frustrating. I love animals, I truly do. And I'm not dissing all animal owners. I know many times it's better to "own" them because of shelters and people treating them badly. And at this point, some are so domesticated that they can't live in the wild.

It's one reason I won't have animals or kids. My ADHD gets bored with it and will start to neglect them, and neither animals nor kids deserve that.

Just treat animals better. Respect their boundaries and take care of them properly. They aren't your property they are living beings with genuine feelings.
