maybe tomorrow
did anything even happen in season 5 😶 it felt like 2 or 3 things happened and thats it, or maybe the season was so traumatically bad that i’ve now forgotten
why do i feel like they’re never gonna release “the first shadow” on any streaming services now that we saw how dogshit season 5 was ☹️
In my opinion, but it's a personal opinion because I don't know anything about it, if they give us TFS it will be in a few years after the theater closes. I know that both theaters are doing very well, so it will take a long time (as long as people pay to go to the theater they will exploit the phenomenon). Probably when the audience drops they will perhaps put a recording on Netflix. After all, it is a product of the service and is linked to the world of Stranger Things. Of course, the 5th season was a total failure for practically everyone (and I still wonder why) but I don't think it will influence the release or not of the TFS spin-off (which instead was a great success with critics and the public). Well, seeing the disaster of the 5th season I doubt they will ever make other spin-offs about Henry Creel... too bad! But it's just my idea... they could also make a miniseries inspired by TFS in years... we'll see.

A crew member's revelations (gone unnoticed)
So I was reading comments on ST reddit (yep, i'm masochistic)
And then I stumbled upon this one (all names are blurred, I'm not doxxing anyone)
On the one hand, this is just a rando on the Internet who says shit with no proof
On the other hand, it's a rather serious allegation (sus) and worth looking into
I skimmed through their post history. They're active on multiple subreddits where they mention work in the film industry
So I decided to dig deeper and two hours later I found their imdb page. They're legit!!! (they're actually credited in the show)
Let's look at everything they said about working on ST and the Duffers (brace yourself, it's A LOT):
This person seems incredibly bitter. However, all that info that's resurfacing these days ...
Take everything with a grain of salt.
And wait for the NDAs to expire ...
LEAVE WILL BYERS ALONE!!!!! i dont wanna hear any mention of him anymore by any cast or people from st UNLESS it is positive. ENOUGH
will coming out joke….weird lumax sex joke…y’all had so many other options of what to make fun of and yall chose that. why not make fun of how max took so long to talk to holly before escaping vecnas mindscape, or making fun of how the final battle with vecna was so short. like imagine after they defeat vecna they did a bit where they do a dance party after defeating him and mike is like “i say dance away” (as a jab to how disneyfied and corny the writing was for the show) and vecna dances with them too 🤔 shouldve had me in the writing room. never found snl funny anyway whatever
I kind of can’t think of a more cohesive and relevant way to describe the stranger things finale other than the conclusion of jenny nicholson’s 6 year old rise of skywalker review: “I think the worst thing a franchise ending can do is make you feel kind of stupid and embarrassed for being so excited about it in the first place. I thought going into it that I might not like where some of the characters ended up, especially in an era of filmmaking where it seems more important to make sure the audience doesn’t predict what’s going to happen over making a satisfying ending, but I wasn’t even really sad or mad about any of the story developments because it was so sloppy that it totally broke my suspension of disbelief.”
haunted in his dreams
I’m still in denial that my favorite show that I used to love to analyze is low key meaningless and ruined now 🥲 all of those years of analysis for absolutely nothing
its not for nothing, take that energy and that effort and your creativity and keep doing it, keep creating, specially your own stuff
“I asked ChatGPT” well I asked the Duffer Brothers and they uh- they also asked ChatGPT…
if i was a writer on the show and i worked so hard to build these character dynamics and arcs and lore for the show, all for it to be completely IGNORED and put to the side as seen in the FINALE because the show runners are too incompetent and egotistical to at least acknowledge the work that everyone else put in the show…,,you’d see me on the news.
as a writer myself, id be fucking livid because i imagine you love these characters because you basically raised them. also, that’s all your hard work just being put to waste and not even appreciated. all i’ve been thinking about since the finale is how the other writers of stranger things feels now that their hard work was all put to waste cause of the duffer brothers
did the duffer brothers not have any extra input or critique before finalizing their scripts for vol 2 and the finale?? cause i see in the documentary that paul ditcher DID remind them that there would be demogorgons and demobats in the abyss but i guess that was ignored???
someone needs to sue idk
The legacy of stranger things that the duffers did not plan for
college byler
The writers r simply not good. There is no secret episode, no alternate ending, the writers fumbled storylines in season 5 but before I started shipping byler I saw stranger things as a mid show and u know what I was right. The writing was never incredible, not since season 1, and now it never will be.
deadass should have stopped watching at season 3, which was when i was forcing myself to watch it cause it genuinely felt like a chore to watch. i think at the time i was just salty about the whole anti-communist stuff and how hopper acted towards joyce because she seemed to not reciprocate feelings and murray in general being insufferable and unlikeable. but then byler brought me back in and made me believe that the show had something worth watching for. NEVERMIND I GUESS.
LITERALLY SAME the first thing I clocked was was the blatant american propaganda.
YES like i understand why they showed it, because they were trying to be accurate for the time period and the red scare propaganda (like how the theme was satanic panic in s4) but we got bigger fish to fry in hawkins and it just felt weird seeing erica glorify capitalism LMAO
Am I the only one who found it weird, off-putting, and unnecessary when Hopper was talking El down from suicide (self-sacrifice, same thing) and used the fact that she might have a kid of her own one day as a reason for her to stay alive? El is a teenage girl who has not once expressed any desire to become a mother in the future. She is traumatized and has never had any agency in her life. She is also, I must repeat, a teenage girl. Why are we using becoming a mother as motivation to talk down a teenager from suicide? Why are we acting like this is something El wants and has always wanted? Why do male writers always reduce female characters’ bodies to their ability to make babies? Women and girls’ lives are not valuable because of their ability to have children—we are inherently valuable no matter what our bodies may or may not be capable of, whether or not we want kids at all. Our lives have worth because they are ours.
did anyone else not cry At All in the finale…like my eyes got moist at certain points but no real big emotion apart from incredulity, disdain, boredom and disappointment
genuinely how i was the entire time, jus waiting for it to get good and only feeling disappointed. also kept skipping through the epilogue cause it was a chore to get through
