ok so the person who asked this was a transphobe (yuck) but i compiled what i feel is a good resource so i’m gonna post it separately.

a good place to start for learning players is this page on liquipedia! watch a game, notice which players you want to know more about, click the [show] button on which team their on, select their name, and read all about them! liquipedia should tell you their normal heroes, past teams, some facts about them, and even (if you’re lucky) have links to interviews with them!

when it comes to the memes, unfortunately, a Lot of them come from the earlier seasons – and even sometimes from before OWL was a thing. if anyone has questions abt any in particular, just ask me!! i’ll be happy to answer. tbh it would be a fun series to do :D

most of the teams even have a sort of “behind the scenes” videos. i don’t know them all, but i know nyxl has their series Origins where players tell the stories of how they got into OWL, Days Off, Unleashed, and more; vancouver titans have Titan Tales; seoul dynasty has a LOT of videos but my favorite are these funny ones; la gladiators have their Sound Off videos; there’s SO MANY more. each team has a youtube channel and most of them have some version of the types of videos above. some of the players may be on different teams/retired now, but it’s a good way to get to know them!
