We should always think before doing or buying things so that it will not end up as a waste.
The Compressor
What is a compressor?
A compressor is an instrument or device for compressing something, a machine used to supply air or other gas at increased pressure.
What is the use of a compressor?
The compressor does exactly as its name says: it compresses the refrigerant. The compressor receives low pressure gas from the evaporator and converts it to high pressure gas.
Types of Compressor
Piston Compressors
Screw Compressors
Rotary Compressors
Centrifugal Compressors
Spiral Compressors

Technology improves. Esco’s isocide is one of the proof. Isn’t it amazing that there are extra ways to protect yourself as you protect your samples?
An antimicrobial surface contains an antimicrobial agent that inhibits or reduces the ability of microorganisms to grow. The most common and most important use of antimicrobial coatings has been in the healthcare setting for sterilization of medical devices to prevent hospital associated infections.
What is the difference between Manual Defrost and Automatic Defrost?
Common question right?
But first of all lets define the word defrost, it means removing the frost or ice formation in or out of the freezer. Defrosting should be done only when necessary, but should be done as soon as necessary so that the freezer can function at its best.
When you do manual defrost, you have to turn the unit off and clean it. You have to wait for the ice to melt down. It takes time when you manually defrost, for some instances you put a fan just to shorten the time of ice melting. A manual defrost does not contain automatic heating element this cause reduction on the overall energy use. Anyway what I am trying to say is that, manual defrost have higher risk of sample damage because you have to remove all of them inside the freezer.
Meanwhile automatic defrost works by heating the interior refrigerator coils at regular intervals. This prevents frost from building up. It saves time and also effort on defrosting manually. You dont have to defrost it manually because it will defrost and remove the ice by its own.
For the nth time, whatever your freezer is the most important thing you should remember is to protect and secure your samples.

Laboratory Freezers are equipments used to protect and preserve samples, reagents, biological specimens. Sometimes they are also used for stability testing. So mainly as far as samples are concerned, you should always think what freezer is the best to protect and preserve your samples.
Have you ever wonder a laboratory or a testing site with out a freezer? Imagine it your self.
