Today's self care card: mind.
It reminds me of the saying, "you can't control how other people act, but you can control how you react." It all starts inward. Outward elements may influence you but it's all about how you do or don't respond.

Today's affirmation: I choose to be proud of myself.
It's encouraged to be proud of yourself! Just don't let pride get in the way. Two very different elements. Just look at how far you've come and what you've accomplished! Don't fret about where you want to be. You'll climb that mountain one step at a time.
Today's self care card: body
Self love is such a challenging thing. Time, energy, and thoughts are wasted when we hate on ourselves. It's time to embrace yourself just as you are. There is nothing wrong with wanting to change. Yet, we can't hate ourselves into growth. You are worthy of love and acceptance.
Today's card of the day: a reminder that we are worthy of self forgiveness. We are our own worst critic. We have pent up guilt and resentments toward ourselves. It's time to give ourselves grace and forgiveness. Drop that heavy baggage and breathe deeply.
ALSO!
Today's affirmation of the day! Repeat after me...
I am worthy of inner peace.
Sunday's card of the day! You've heard the phrase "curiosity killed the cat" but did you know that "satisfaction brought it back." There are two sides to that proverb; the warning and the reward. It's natural to be curious and inquisitive. There are answers waiting if you dare to seek them! Feed that curiosity and see how far down the rabbit hole goes!
Card of the day brought to you by the blunt #rebeldeck
It's easy to get caught up in the chaos of life. Sometimes we need to be reminded to stop and focus on our own circle. There are so many things out of our control that can add stress. Yet, by stepping back we can see more clearly what influence we do have regarding our world.
Card of the day! It's important to simplify various areas of your life. Not just your physical home and work but spiritually and mentally as well. Make space for new by purging the old and unhealthy attachments.
Walls built tall where needed
Gates kept guarded and weeded
Not all who wander close need blocked
Such a shame to keep a loving heart locked
Boundaries are vital, yet they can also hinder
To be closed off too much can make you blinder
Open your heart and let in the light
Let your soul be at rest, not everything is a fight
Your space is yours, but it can be shared
It's important to let others in that cared
To be guarded is natural but use caution with how far you roam
It is safe to let others into your heart and home
30 Days of veiling: day 17, 18, 19 and 20
I’ve been at a loss for words these past few days. I would start but it would trail into nothing. A reminder that silence is part of the cycle.
I’ve been focusing on a few different variables during the new moon. Purging out items, working on altar space, and organizing workspace to name a few.
Energy work. Lots of energy work.
I’ve been working on minimizing for years now. While it was a slow start, things really changed this past year. There is still condensing that needs done. Something I feel needs to be my focus this winter.
30 Days of veiling: day 16 I've been in survival mode so thoughts wander easily. I usually try to document throughout the day then post that evening or the next morning. It's been a long time since I've kept a daily journal. This means a lot to me so I trudge through even on grumpy cat days. This morning I stepped outside waiting for a co-worker to pick me up. It's dark at 630am. Standing underneath a nearly new moon it's as if I've opened my eyes for the first time in a long time. All the leaves are gone. When? Did they even change colors? It's the 16th of November? Next week is thanksgiving? I feel like I've been walking in my sleep. We miss so much when we allow other things in our realm to absorb all our attention and energy. I made a list today and checked it twice. Well, several times because I'm anal like that. A to-do list and a want-to-do. Prioritize. Then etch-a-sketch it and tackle whatever is in front of me first. As long as something gets done that's still progress, right? I've noticed that I started this challenge by selecting my outfit first then the scarf to match (on days I cared about matching). Yet, I'm putting more focus on the scarf first now. What shape and design feels best that day. What style of wrap and coverage? I'm finding more and more I prefer full coverage. But why? I feel like I'm avoiding deeper questions and intentions. There's two more weeks left so I can put that off a little longer, right? I'm also wanting to reach for favorites. Yet, considering my collection I want to try to do this with a different one each day. Fighting anxiety and depressive episodes it doesn't take much for me to slip into a monotonous routine. I have to force myself to change things up. A lesson I need to apply to other areas of my realm as well. Um, can I put that off for a little longer, too?
#30daysofveiling: day 15 Halfway point. *cue bon jovi* whoa living on a prayer! I may need sleep. I almost didn't wear a veil today just because it was a rough morning. Yet, I found a trippy wrap that fit my mood. Slowing down I focused my #affirmations into my knot work. I've been excited about wearing makeup consistently each day so I signed up for Ipsy. Also with getting home around 2pm and it getting darker sooner my rhythm is off balance. This could explain why I've been getting up at balls o'clock in the morning. I finally put some of that frustrated energy to use and began to re-organize my room. Small steps lead to large victories.
30 Days of veiling: day 14 This veil was a delightful find at goodwill and certainly at the top of my favorite list. I'm trying to find different ways to secure them with clips instead of always using knots. Especially with this style of veil. It's incredibly empowering. Thoughts drift to last year when Eris came to me with mirrors and inspiration for a mirror garden meditative space. Strange how a year later she's bringing them back but with different intentions. She challenges and inspires me in so many ways. With things shifting in my realm this past year I haven't properly focused on altar space. I have one but the energy isn't flowing right. That is something I'll be working on this weekend. With the holidays around the corner I also need to work on my Khaos Kreations product line. Working on my witchery always makes me happy and is therapeutic. Strange how I find myself up at 3am mixing up essential oils for an ailment. Yet, energized ready to start the day. I've been waking up on my own between 4am-5am. I'm sure it's a daylight savings thing but something I should probably put to use while I'm feeling froggy.
30 Days of veiling: day 13 During the morning I heard the laughter of Eris and it filled me with confidence and inspiration. Evening meditation with Pan was intense and brought much needed comfort. I'm reminded of a quote, "If you can't understand my silence, how will you understand my words?"
30 Days of veiling: day 12 "I shall wear purple and drink midnight margaritas!" Except today I'm going with white (after labor day? The scandal!) And those margaritas were actually Mike hard lemonade (black cherry if you're curious) among other things. I haven't drank in a long time but in the middle of a severe anxiety attack with no medication on me, it felt like the next best alternative. There has been a bottle of my favorite wine in the fridge for weeks. I bought it for ritual but I knew I had slipped into a difficult space so I waited. I know myself well enough that if I don't keep myself in check then it will develop into something more severe. I'm deeply grateful for the support of my friends recently and their help yesterday. Even if that means still fighting a headache at 4pm the next day. Oh and they took me on a special trip to goodwill because they know thrifty shopping makes me feel better. I got several new scarves, which makes me super happy. I'm inspired to incorporate knot magick into these wrappings. Depending on the feeling or calling each day the process and intention will shift. Doing this routine almost 2 weeks now and it's feeling very ritualistic, getting stronger and deeper each day. It's no longer an accessory but a bonding. I feel bare without it. Similar to days that I hadn't wore my special necklace or sacred pouch. It brings a comfort I can't quite yet put into words. Thoughts drift to, "what's next?" I have to reclaim some sort of order in my chaotic realm. Control is an illusion yet there is a hidden order in chaos. I'm still trying to figure out transportation issues. I have to get the last of my stuff out of my parents. I have to reorganize my business and witchery supplies. I have to just keep swimming.
30 Days of veiling: day 10 & 11 Back to work, back to the routine, and moving forward. I started to write something for Friday 10th but I wanted to better collect my thoughts so I waited until Saturday morning to post. That turned into Saturday night and the days have been a bit of a blur. The labyrinth teaches us many things. One of which is that there are various routes to get to where you want/need to go. Sometimes there's a short cut, sometimes there's a long way around, at times you find your way, other times it finds you. But you always have a choice, even if you have to fight your way through. Dead ends are never what they appear to be. I spent a much needed weekend with friends. Game nights have always been a favorite. Many moons ago when I first separated from my ex-husband I discovered that kinship. There was so much guilt laid upon me for not being home, "where I was supposed to be." But we NEED that personal time. It took me so long to release that guilt. When I moved away a few years ago I missed those nights so much. Now back in the area, I'm elated to reconnect with these circles. Whatever brings you joy, bring more of that in. Open to those vibes and soak in those rays. Personal time and self care takes on various forms and is vital to whole health. Never feel guilt, shame, or degradation for tending to your roots. As much as you want to take care of others, you'll be unable to do so if you whither away. Not everyone values those sacrifices. Yes, it's important to take care of each other. However, the cold truth is you have to be responsible for your well being first, then from that healthy foundation you can build to provide others that supportive space. The other side of that coin is the ability to ask for and accept help. I had posted something a few weeks ago about a lesson in pride and acceptance. We struggle to fight certain battles on our own either due to pride, anxiety, fear, and we become reclusive from loved ones. Not all battles are meant to be fought alone, including those internal struggles. We have to remind ourselves; I am not alone.
30 Days of veiling: day 9 I called in again today. Bed ridden and lifeless; head flooded with anxiety nonsense and static. Flashbacks of last year hit where I got so bad I was in bed for weeks. I got this tattoo about 4 to 5 years ago after I came through a difficult abyss. A reminder that even though I was in a better place at that time, this is something that I will carry on my shoulders and struggle with those tides for the rest of my life. Mental illness is something you manage, not something you cure. #belouderthanthenoiseinyourhead I forced myself up for food. I hadn't eaten in over 24 hours and not good for my diabetes. Sitting there in tears, forcing down eggs, belly hurting, swimming in guilt from various variables, just ready to fall back into bed, and hating myself for it. The other day my 13 year old gently reached for my hand. He saw something others didn't, "I'm glad you have a place and people to come home to. I worry about you and don't want to see you go back into the hospital. I don't want to lose you." Eye opener. As much I tried to cover it up, this strong, sweet child called me on my bullshit. And we need that. No. I will not let this happen. I've come to far to just let myself slip away! I know where this rocky road leads and it's time to derail this crazy train. Angry is good. Angry gets shit done. One photo. No retakes. No filters. Keep it real. This reminds me of an earlier post where I mentioned when a girl puts her hair up, shit is about to get real! I found this bandana in a random bag while cleaning. These scarves are like little gifts hidden everywhere. Wearing these bring surprising comfort. I feel that I can stand stronger and be in more control. I feel inspired and secure. Is defeating anxiety, depression, mental illness that easy? Fuck no. But I got up, opened the window for fresh air, worked on cleaning my room, did dishes, and got music rocking loud to drown out the noise. #belouderthanthenoiseinyourhead It's easier said than done. We can't be expected to complete a journey just like that. Each step is a journey on it's own.
