Response from Toby Fox about the use of Error and Fresh

ALLLRIGHTY so I did get a response from Toby regarding the characters of Fresh and Error. I’m just gunna copy/paste it right here: “”Yeah, if you wanna sell stuff of them or use them in your own professional works, I think it would be better if you made them less identifiable as Sans. You’ve obviously already changed his design a bit, you’d just need to change it some more. Good luck with your own stuff!!! - Toby”” So this means if I ever want to sell any stuff of em, they gotta be redesigned. This DOES NOT BOTHER ME In the slightest and makes me EXCITED to redesign them in a way that I choose. Because they were both designed, literally as a joke (Fresh) and as a dare (Error) which means although I ‘kinda’ designed them, I also didn’t. Heck, the major parts of Fresh’s design were done by @determinedtopun and I just used some of those concepts. This is actually extremely exciting. This means I get the chance to do whatever I want with how they look and start from scratch. Many aspects will remain the same, many will change, body types might change, clothes are a DEFINITE must, but this is all fun and I’m really looking forward to it. As always, I’m greatful for Toby’s response, and excited to try something new with both characters! (Edit: redesigning Fresh I think will be the REAL challenge, because he changies bodies like all the time. I love the parasite concept but I ALSO love the concept of him having a repeatable design, dangit Fresh STOP BEING DIFFICULT)

Sage, final one! PHEW This was fun, and I’m a sucker for symmetry, so I’m going to say if she so chooses she can release blades from both sides of the guitar. And to make the scythe longer, she can stretch the neck of the guitar. (That one was already planned though.) More Lucidia art for my (future) webcomic. So here's a random thought: The Four Horsemen of the AU's (alter: the Four Sans of the Apocalypse) Reaper!Sans = Death, Error!Sans = War, SansyFresh = Plague, and Gaster!Sans = Famine (or Thirst ;) ). And they all ride different variations of Gaster Beasts. I just wanted to share this with someone and you were the first person I thought of...

I forgot to add stardust somewhere, but I don’t think it’s necessary? Who knows. That circle thing with the flame on it is the thing that holds his toga together. The ends of his scarf sash thing are burnt. Also, meditating Grillby because that’s cool.

These here are designs for an AU I’ve had swimming in my mind scape for a while now: Eratale 

Its pretty much an AU mainly exploring the pre-war lives of our squad: Toriel, Asgore, Gaster, and Grillby. As well as the world of monsters and humans 

Some starting basics for Eratale: 

It gonna span the time from when our squad are children to when Chara and Asriel are born. Which means I will be exploring the war(its cause and effects on the characters and monster world) and how the monsters dealt with being sealed in Mt. Ebott. 

Asgore was crown prince and next in line for the throne. He had a very sheltered childhood inside the palace. 

Toriel came from a separate aristocratic family of Boss Monsters. She moved to the Capital when she was betrothed to Asgore at a young age. 

Gaster grew up in the same city as Toriel as the son of a Doctor. He and Toriel were friends but grew apart when Toriel moved to the Capital. 

Grillby was the eldest son born to a family of blacksmiths and came to the Royal Palace as an apprentice to his Uncle who served as a Royal Blacksmith. 

Toriel, Asgore, and Grillby are all childhood friends in this AU. Gaster joins the circle when Toriel meets him again in University, and the two rekindle their friendship. 

thats all I’m gonna tell about the AU at the moment but be expecting more stuff in time (probably around spring break though because finals will be taking up most of my time for the next few weeks)
