I apologize if this doesn’t make sense or isn’t as beautifully written as it should be but I’m writing this sobbing at 3 AM so please forgive me.

MINOR SPOILERS FOR C4 E28

l've seen people (mostly outside of tumblr) give campaign 4 shit because it feels too over produced and no longer gives the same energy as the "group of friends playing D&D" vibe that the first three campaigns gave.

I need those people to go back and watch the last 15-20 minutes of Episode 28. Ashley's monologue as Vaelus talking to Hannen and the emotional development we see in Vaelus leading to her level up is a masterclass in acting between both Ashley and Brennan. Then Robbie comes in as Kattigan to bring some comedic levity as a sort of "cooldown" to the scene giving Ashley and Brennan the space to laugh at a VERY vulnerable moment.

And Liam's ending monologue was most certainly Hal talking to his cast at the Hallowed Round AS WELL AS Liam talking to the players both on and off camera. He looked multiple people in the eyes during this monologue when he easily could've kept his eyes on the DM but he brought his friends (and only his friends, as none of the other PCs were present at the Round at this time) into the moment with him because HIS APPRECIATION OF THEIR HARD WORK AND CREATIVITY AND HIS WORRY OF THE THINGS TO COME BUT COMMITMENT TO THE MISSION NONETHELESS IS JUST AS APPLICABLE IN REAL LIFE AS IT IS IN GAME!

Yes, Campaign 4 is shaping up to be a far more dramatic and produced campaign. But I don't want to see ANYONE going on about how these are no longer friends playing a game. Each and every person in this cast has so much love for each other, the game they play for a living, and the WAY they play the game for a living.

I won't speak for anyone else but I can only hope to be as lucky as the Critical Role cast in finding such a perfect chosen family they way they've found theirs

something i don't see talked about is isaacs avoidance of conflict. in episode one he states, "look at me i don't fight" which makes sense but not 30 minutes later he's smashing a guys face into the pavement on a bestial failure. he also is clearly fascinated by kindred violence like in episode six when they go to the cage and watch the fighting at the pit. but despite his clear interest and capability he refuses unless absolutely necessary. he goes into every situation stating he just wants to talk and not fight, he tries to disengage when people raise their voice, etc. not even just in situations where his politeness is expected, its even in situations he's being insulted/talked down to by someone he can easily dispose of. isaac is hellbent on everything being as diplomatic as possible and the one time we see him crack in episode 8 during the cargument he still doesnt react violently and even tells angela to lower her gun at rey. i can't tell if he's like this because he doesnt want to be thrown out of the bronx, hes trying to lay low, or this is just his personality. either way its interesting.
