This is exactly why we're doing it and messages like these keep us motivated! 💪 As we are currently busy finishing Repeat and All Star, we haven't planned much further ahead. All I can say is that we have a member who is eager to get to a few routes in Amazing Aria/Sweet Serenade and I personally really want to translate Ai's route in All Star After Secret! But don't worry, once we get there, we'll make a post about our future plans! ✨
Thank you again for your ask and blessings! Enjoy playing the games! 🤗🤗

I was thinking Utapri might be the pioneer of multimedia fictional male talents for girls. The one who pave the way. No wonder HypMic made the collab a big deal. Yes, it started as otome game but anime made it super popular because of the competition among the men. In season 1, they are competing to be paired with Haruka. You see, idol and composer need to pair up for their graduation thesis. Instead of choosing one, Haruka know everyone have different charm so she fought for the idol group Starish. At first everyone are against the idea but they eventually agree to fight with her. I believe Starish is an anime original group and only Quartet Night is canon from the game? In season 2, the senpais Quartet Night entered the picture to be their mentors and Cecil their new rival who became their comrade. In season 3, the competition is back again because Quartet Night want to fight against their kohais in idol competition. In the last season, Starish not only fought against their senpais but also the new idol group Heavens from their idol agency's rival.
I was there. The fight was intense back in the days. Later, others followed the Utapri formula and made some changes like what can they improve as multimedia project. They try game, cd series and even internet as platform. They also try changing the music type from idols into musical-like or hiphop. Instead of giving fanservice for girls like an otome game, they focus in building the relationships among men more and then make them fight too. They believe that's what made Utapri anime popular. Hypnosis mic give it a different twist, instead of idols, why not rappers since fictional male idols are oversaturated now? And a competition where the CD buyers can actually control who win the battle? Then vtubers and virtual idols entered the scene thinking making it closer to the audience as if its a real thing is a good idea.
Utapri game - 2010 (otome game) Utapri anime - 2011 (anime became popular) Tsukiuta - 2012 (popular vocaloid composer collab with seiyuus) Idolmaster Side M - 2014 (spinoff of Idolmaster) Ensemble Stars, Idolish7, B-project, Highschool Star Musical - 2015 (the golden era) Hypnosis Mic, ARP - 2017 (what if the competition can be control) Holostars - 2019 (male vtubers from the people behind the popular vtuber idol Hololive production) Paradox Live - 2020 (followed hypmic rappers footsteps but giving the characters serious trauma that deeply affect them) PLAVE - 2023 (KPOP virtual boy band)
I guess from what I'm seeing? Its the bond what sells the most. Its not really a women erasure for me but more like not every women want to experience romance in fiction. Its giving girls option that we can appreciate platonic relationship the same as romance or even ship them than shipping yourself with the character. Even a popular Hololive vtuber idol Suisei claimed that girls love the bond among men when she was asked for advice to make Holostars popular.
So, I honestly forgot I recorded these back in 2020-2021 and I just decided to share them for nostalgia's sake. I really liked these OSTs and I really wish Shining Live got an official soundtrack.
These are the songs that played during different events in the game, the birthday events for the characters/player, the main event theme when you go to the main page, and this certain theme that typically plays around the 3rd chapter of the card stories during a more "romantic" moment with a character of choosing/player.
Hope everyone enjoys the nostalgia! ^^
this will be a lonely journey but does anyone want to be sket dance mutuals on twitter

the post: everything has a right to exist in fiction, even if it's fucked up
the comments: i was going to reblog this until i realized op likes fucked up stuff in fiction. this is a common dogwhistle phrase for people who like fucked up stuff in fiction. they have to talk in code to trick people into agreeing with them. stay safe out there!

II cannot express how much I love the chess game happening in Angel Therapy. It's an especially fascinating thing to acknowledge that Aziraphale is very intelligent, but a) may or may not not realize he is, b) NOBODY ELSE IN THE SHOW EVER ACONOWLEDGES HE IS.
The dude is SO manipulative. Less manipulative then most of heaven, but as good or better at lies and half truths than his literal father-of-lies demon husband. It is FASCINATING watching that play out in a structured and uncomfortable setting.
Hey, one person acknowledges it! Crowley, absolutely, believes in Aziraphale's intelligence--even when he's calling him stupid.
This is meant as a compliment and my friend says it sounds like one, so I hope it is: why are the chapters so short?!? 😭
Seriously though, I hope Davey gives Zira a run for his money. Boy needs to deconstruct SO much.
*goes to look up Hayes work*
(also, sorry if it seems like I'm stalking you. I'm just late to the party is all)
I too wish the chapters were longer! I don't think you wanted this, but now I'm going to use your ask as an opportunity to explore why the chapters in Angel-Centered are often on the shorter end of things, compared to Demonology.
First, there's the obvious. It takes a lot more words to express Aubrey's thought process than it does Davey's. Granted, a lot of the words in Aubrey's process are repeats, but that still means there's ultimately more stuff to each chapter.
Second, there's an actual difference in thought process. Aubrey observes the world like this: Observation -> Analysis -> Interpretation. In other words: "She sees a thing. The thing has multiple parts, each of which must be identified. The thing means something, which is then clarified." Of course, it doesn't always go that way, but that's the general process. She's intensely analytical in her attention and perception.
Davey is not so inherently analytical. He's a very strong analytical thinker, but his interpretations of his experiences are much more immediately apparent to him, just from experiencing it. So he observes like this: "Interpretation. Clarification, maybe. Observation, maybe." In other words: "He sees a thing that means something." Or maybe even just: "Here's the meaning."
Aubrey works through more distinct steps, in order to express what she thinks or feels. Davey, on the other hand, experiences the world more often as a gestalt.
Third, there's the difference in therapeutic approach. Aubrey is task oriented. She always has at least half of a plan, and she is uncomfortable with unstructured sessions. This means that she can get more done within a (narrative) arc than Davey can.
Fourth, there's the Intellectual Property that I am therapizing. Crowley shifts and moves and snarls and hops in all four dimensions (and some secret fifth one, too, probably) all the time. He doesn't think or emote without doing everything. Aziraphale, on the other hand, is very still. His face goes through about ten thousand distinct microexpressions just about every millisecond, yes, but those can't be described in text very easily. So, you have fewer overt movements to describe, and you have to be very discriminating about which minor alterations to expression you focus on. Less overall is said.
In short: it can't go any faster. It has to be slow. The emotional beats that structure each chapter have to come about through a less verbose description of a shorter period of time. So, shorter chapters.
Also, Hayes's approach to therapy (ACT) is amazing! It's an incredible theory with truly remarkable techniques.
the “humans are inherently selfish” fanclub can genuinely and in all honesty go to hell. i once came back from a school yard where the kids had heaped piles of leaves and cut wildflowers on a narrow strip of grass bc a bee had died. i actually want to cry.
when i was a child, my parents told me our houseplant would die of lack of sunlight. i was so young i don’t even remember this, but apparently, my response to this was starting to carry the plant around like an emotional support stuffed animal. whenever my family went outside i would hold the pot on my head to make it reach the sun better. i wasn’t in school yet, didn’t have any exposure to the lessons on caring they give in elementary, i don’t remember my thought process - but i can guess. kids integrally care about things, even tiny bugs and inanimate plants. humans care.
don’t let them beat it out of you
as someone in my 40s, may i also add: if they beat it out of you? put in the work to relearn it until it’s a part of you again. a part you’re proud enough of that if someone tells you it’s dumb and you should stop, you can laugh and say “oh, no. no, i don’t believe i will.” and then keep on keepin’ on.
compassion can often be a skill that needs to be relearned. so relearn it and revel in it.
your aziraphale goes to therapy fic is really, really good. like i'll text my partner "but like the therapy fic updated" when it does and ae tries to get me to go to bed bc i get too excited for azira Healing From Trauma. the insight into davey's mind is fascinating and i love seeing him learn how to handle aziraphale but i am oh so scared for when his idealized view of heaven comes crashing down, because you can't have aziraphale healing from trauma without addressing what caused it and whoo boy is davey gonna Hate it. that being said i am eagerly anticipating it get our dysfunctional angel to therapy (he is already there and davey is doing a great job with him so far)
It seems like people feel a lot more worried about Dave than they felt for Aubrey, which is interesting!
But we know, in the end, Davey ends up okay. We know, ultimately, everything will be okay.
Well Aubrey is a professional.
Jokes aside, I think her specialty being trauma makes sense. You are less worried about an ER doc seeming a man with intestines ribboning out than say, your local allergy doc. Context, experience and framing divided the two.
I think I also very early on imagined Aubrey as being young. Seasoned but full of vigor. We read about her having a therapist as well.
Aubrey reads like an older cousin to me. Someone who has gone a few more miles and wants to help me out. I can see her crying with me, I can see her cursing with me, I can see her making mistakes and apologizing to me. She is human incarnate. She reminds me that I believe humans are fundamentally self-healing when given time and space and resources.
Davey is cast as much older. I have worked with a few older therapists and yep, he reminds me of that generation of therapists a lot. There's often a lot more distance. There's an element of masking up trauma, the subtle belief that we are imperfect and receive grace from above. Its the generation that said "a child with autism" and decided masking was very important (for everyone).
Yes Davey is better than that. He's certainly outgrown those inclinations his generation has but I think I can feel the shadows there.
I'm worried about him because Aubrey grew up in a world that was a lot kinder. She has worked hard and is a great person, but she started 200m ahead in the race.
Davey feels like so many older men I have met that had spent a lifetime of taking on little loads, never being given the space to deal. The miscarriage, the divorce. Always smiling, bongos and fun.
He matches how I see Aziraphale a bit. Kind, but with an untrustworthy smile. You break past the facade and find pain.
This is a very good point, and it's interesting! As are the replies people have left. I, like most people who create OCs, absolutely adore getting to see how other people interpret my little fake people.
I suppose one thing I believe: for absolutely everyone, once you break past the facade, you can find pain underneath. The question may be, how much does the facade matter for their self-conception?
