Okay I wrote a whole thing it was really long and then I left Tumblr in another tab for like more than a minute and now it's all gone.
So here it is again, written very differently than it was last time but probably still just as long because I can't summarize anything for shit.
They don't get their miraculouses until they're 15, which isn't that much better than 14 but at least that gives them a year to, you know, just be kids. Get to know each other, start middle school, have a normal life.
When they were 14 though Alya still joined the class, she and Marinette still became friends, and Sabrina and Chloe were still friends as well. However, there was also a student exchange program. (Here's the part where I talk about something I have no understanding of, let's go!)
Basically for a period of time during that school year, Sabrina, who had the highest grades, was accepted into a program that would let one student from their school go study in a prestigious academy in London. And a student from that academy would be joining College François Dupont.
That student was Felix Graham De Vanilli.
During that time Marinette and Chloe stopped being rivals and united against a common enemy, making them from that point onward not really friends but acquaintances, allies some would even say. Chloe and Alya even started getting along a little bit, again not quite becoming friends but definitely helping Alya get rid of her bias against people who look, talk and act like Chloe.
Roger had his hands full with someone like Felix living under his roof, but Amelie was actually a really good and supportive force in Sabrina's life, and the change of setting was what she needed to start considering herself and who she is without Chloe.
So anyway the exchange program ends, they each go back to their homes, and on the surface everything goes back to normal. Except Chloe and Marinette talk to each other like people, rather than bicker and fight all the time. And Sabrina doesn't know what to feel about that but isn't going to say anything yet. Sabrina start acting cold and distant as a result and Chloe doesn't know what to do. She's iced Sabrina plenty of times before but she's never had to deal with that herself. Did it really hurt this much?
Anyway this is their dynamic for the rest of that school year, and then during the summer they try to keep being friends but they eventually lash out they have a big fight neither of them say what they're actually feeling because they're bad at communicating that, and their friendship ends.
Chloe is able to let Kim down gently this time, over the summer, but to her surprise he sticks around anyway. Not out of hope that she'll change her mind but just because, in his own words, "you look like you could use a friend."
Sabrina and Nathaniel unexpectedly start hanging out and find that they have a lot in common, and eventually Sabrina decides to join the art club as soon as the next school year starts. She also encourages him to go after Marinette, which doesn't go very far but at least they both gave it a shot.
Adrien joins at the start of the new year, when origins takes place, and while he and Chloe are still close, he seems to be doing just fine without her as well, and because she's made at least one friend since losing Sabrina, she's okay with that.
Because Chloe doesn't prank her and therefore Adrian is never caught looking guilty, Marinette develops a crush on him pretty quickly. Adrian is seemingly indifferent at first, but then he starts showing signs of reciprocating her feelings.
Adrian in this au isn't so much different from canon. He's sweet, kind, charming, caring and very popular and loved by the whole class. But there was a whole year when he was still homeschooled, and he rarely talks about it. Or his family, or his house. At all.
He doesn't even attempt to have any guests over, and he sticks to his schedule pretty tightly.
He's actually pretty secretive about his life, but nobody ever notices because he's just so nice.
What could a guy like that possibly have to hide?
So Ladybug! Sabrina and Black Cat! Chloe are chosen to face off against an akuma, and they have their first encounter with the holder of the Butterfly Miraculous. Not an intimidating villain by the name of Hawkmoth, but a charismatic and mysterious masked figure. A quiet and clever antagonist, he calls himself Lune Foncé. Dark Moon.
Anyway! The other miraculous holders are Fox! Nathaniel, one of my all time favourites. We are reusing the name i gave him twice, once again! Renard Ardent is such a cool name, he deserves it!
We've also got Turtle! Kim, protector of lesbians and himbo extraordinare! I'm very tempted to give him the name Coque Solide, meaning solid shell, just because of how it sounds. But that's a pretty immature reason. 🤣 so my other option is Bastion, which literally means stronghold. I kinda like it.
And we eventually get Bee! Marinette, after we've already seen her akumatized as Princess Justice, she'd go by the name of Princesse Douce, literally Princess Sweet. Being akumatized hit her really hard, knowing that she hurt her friends so badly and they have to remember all of it while she can't recall a single thing. So when she's given a miraculous, she decides to reclaim the title of princess for herself and use the alias to help. and this time she'll remember it, even if no one else would ever know it's her. (I mean she wouldn't even be the only akuma who's name was or who was referred to as a princess, so no one would just immediately guess it's her.)
Eventually we would also get Dragon! Kagami and Snake! Luka, naturally. I'm still debating if i wanna make this chlobrina endgame or if Chloegami and Lukabrina is the better option here. Because on the one hand this might be my only chance at a healthy Chlobrina story, but on the other hand. Chloegami.
Yeah okay i think I've decided.
Oh also enemies to lovers Adrienette except they don't know they're enemies, also villain! Adrien with eventual redemption.
