LADYFEST LA

Ladyfest LA (2013) is a grassroots celebration of the artistic, organizational, and political work of womyn, trans folx, people of color, genderqueer, queer, and their allies. In order to create a sustainable way of living in LA, Ladyfest LA challenges how our specific histories as womyn, trans folx, people of color, genderqueer, and queer have been muted, erased or silenced. Collectively, Ladyfest LA seeks to create a more inclusive safe environment through workshops, performances, art, and critical dialogue by building upon and recognizing the knowledge and talents of LA artists and activists.

Forever Falling Sideways, a zine about mental health, is looking for submissions! If things work out, it will be printed in September. Hoping there is some crossover between Sprouted Ink authors and readers, that might want to contribute to this project!

hey everyone i know who cares about stuff that’s worth caring about… the 2nd issue of this is going to be amazing and i want more more more submissions. i totally dropped the ball on promoting this and need your help! spread the word and submit something, i’ll be accepting stuff til october! feel free to ask me questions about it, and also, if i don’t respond to your submission immediately it’s because i am running around the country for the next few weeks. so yeah!  some example topix/themes/etc: -experiences with mental health and ableism in radical communities -intersectionality -how you take care of yourself -how you take care of others

-critiques on mental health dialogue

-how to call people out for being ableist shitheads -herbalist medicine -schizophrenia -ptsd -dsyphoria -trans* and queer narratives -dysmorphia and much much more. be as creative, critical, emotional, honest and angry as you want. this is the zine to do it for.
