Crazy GOT theory
Why would a Dornish woman like Elia Martell give birth to two children with the same Valyrian coloring as their father? One would think the darker Dornish genes would be dominant over Rhaegar’s Valyrian genes.
My crazy theory? She didn’t. Elia was sterile, and was buying babies from Lysian prostitutes, while faking her pregnancies. Once she gave Rhaegar an heir and an in-a-pinch spare, she got the doctors to say she could not have any more babies. But Rhaegar discovered the ruse somehow, just before Harrenhal…..
RHAENYS HAD DORNISH COLORING! !!!
Are y'all done disrespecting this woman? When she is not painted as the ‘ugly brown woman’ she is the sterile and sick wife who couldn’t give poor Rhaegar his third head of the dragons.
To reiterate what the replies have said:
Rhaenys had Dornish coloring, so significantly that her racist grandfather would not touch her
Elia absolutely did give birth both times because there is textual evidence it nearly killed her- what is this “child-stealing” nonsense?
And finally, Rhaegar had no interest in disinheriting his and Elia's children if (in the books) he did legitimately marry Lyanna. The Targaryens had practiced polyamory before, so there is no reason he should have felt the need to annul his marriage to Elia. If Jon is Rhaegar’s legitimate heir, it is ONLY because Aegon (Rhaegar’s firstborn son) was killed by the Mountain’s men (as it is heavily implied in the books that the man believed to be Aegon now is a Blackfyre imposter).
He wasn’t looking for a male heir- he was looking for a third child, which Elia could no longer give him because her health had become so compromised in the wake of her previous deliveries. He believed in the “Prince that was Promised” prophecy, that the dragon would have three heads, and more than likely even hoped for another daughter rather than son.
So I don’t care what D&D care to imply in their show, this theory is baseless and, regardless of if insult to Elia’s moral character was intended, it certainly plays into racist tropes.
GRRM loves plot points that call back to known history. And on the last episode, yes, Rhaegar had his marriage to Elia annulled. If at least Aegon was not his, it could explain a lot.
The tensions from the Wars of the Roses had not faded enough for Henry VIII to feel secure leaving England to either of his daughters. The tensions Aerys was stirring among the nobility, which Rhaegar intended to clear up, could be fatally compromised by having a daughter and some now-disinherited kid from Lys as potential heirs.
So in both cases, Henry and Rhaegar move on to another wife in hopes of that heir.

Washington State (not DC) is the only state in the union where you can legally have a fistfight with somebody (with police as referees) to settle your differences
That should be a law all across the country.
Fuck. Yes.
@jooshbag ?
This is tied to an archaic law that isn’t enforced anymore.
So if you beat the shit out of someone they won’t do anything?
Oh no this is still enforced, and in fact we actually Have a few vigilante superheroes
Like Phoenix Jones who actually patrol the streets and challenge criminals, the police usually get called, and they watch as Phoenix Jones pummels them because Phoenix Jones is actually an MMA fighter.
I gasped and my eyes got so wide after reading this
That man is AWESOME
Apparently for about three years he had an actual superhero team of people with military, medical and martial artist backgrounds he personally trained and equipped, but eventually disbanded. He didn’t give specifics, but said that some of them were “the wrong kind of people” and were too dangerous. There are really for real things that happened.
Also someone tried to be an “arch nemesis” to him named Rex Velvet, some nerd wearing an eyepatch and a fake mustache who didn’t hurt anybody but made surprisingly polished, melodramatic and goofy callout videos from an abandoned warehouse and presumably pulled some annoying pranks.
@fiiyerotigelaar
Did some research about Phoenix Jones: guy is legit. Ex-MMA fighter like the post says, but what the post FAILED to mention is this guy has legit superhero-grade equipment. His suit’s actually made of armor-plated and bulletproof materials, and it has a functional utility belt with lined with stuff like handcuffs, a stun gun, pepper spray, and the like for performing citizens arrests and non-lethally detaining actually armed and violent criminals.
Seattle actually has it’s own LEGAL batman

Umm no Rhaenys looked exactly like her mother while Aegon looked more like Rhaegar. Also Daeron II who was married to Mariah Martell had 4 sons 2 of whom had the targaryen coloring, one we have no knowledge of what he looked like and one who had the dornish coloring so Elia having one child that looked like her and one that looked like Rhaegar makes perfect sense
Aegon was the second child, and Elia had a long recovery time with his older sister. Maybe Rhaenys was Rhaegar's, but the baby factory ground to a halt before she could give Rhaegar a son. Elia faked a pregnancy and got ahold of an ethnically Valyrian boy in order to give Rhaegar an heir, and not get set aside once Rhaegar was to become King. What people forget about Henry VIII was why he went through six wives. Many of the tensions were still raw from the Wars of the Roses, and Henry wanted to be sure there was an unquestionable male heir before he died. GRRM bases a lot of his plot lines on historical events.

NOTE TO ANGRY ELIA STANS:
This did not have anything to do with whether Elia was a good person, but a Princess's main job, in part, was to bear children. Especially sons. If she had fertility issues, she was in real danger of being divorced by her Prince. It would not matter how sweet or loving she was, if she could not produce an heir for Rhaegar.
