It has come to my attention that unfortunately all my Dark/Critical/Anti Dænerys Posts end up in the general character tag – I checked… they do, I'm sorry about that. I figured using different variations on the 'anti' tag would work since I have several anti Sansa tags blacklisted, and prevent pretty much most of anti posts from showing up when looking at her tag like that. I don't know why people either don't have the 'anti [their favorite character]' tags blocked, I wouldn't survive if I didn't, or why tumblr would show them despite that. I don't think I have ever tagged something using her actual name; if I did, I made a mistake and will correct it immediately.

Anyway, I've decided to stop using character tags that may or may not be critical—looking at Ary@ stans here: I like her, genuinely, what I'm predicting is most of the time something I would enjoy reading about, and I'm sure would make her happy, too, but people seem to think I'm 'dragging her into DT hate'. So while I'm most of the time not critical of her, I guess I'll be looking for another way. I still want to find my posts later—because of questions or for some other reason… so I'm starting a tag/term glossary below the cut, which people are welcome to block if they don't want to see my takes on certain characters. The actual tags to block are bolded, I'm adding in the way I'm cumberbatching the names in regular text and book quotes as well. I'm still using the regular anti tags here so the people this is for can see this post and block the relevant tags, or me, and leave me in peace.

Dæny/Dænerys (ASOIAF/wiki/GRRM quotes); D/DT (in my own text); the mad queen (in tags) = Dænerys Targaryén: Dark Dæny, Evil Dæny, Mad Queen Dæny. Just block it. Don't @ me or vague blog; here's your out, if you still see the posts, I guess shoot me a message or an ask. I don't see why it would, though.

House Targaryén (quotes); House Fire Lizard (text); house fire lizard (tags) = House Targaryén.

Jokerys (text); jokerys (tags) = J0nerys. Block it, my god.

Jokerii (text); jokerii (tags) = J0nerys shippers. That is you. Let's just avoid each other, and we will all be happier for it.

Mad Fans (text); mad fans (tags) = Dæny fans in general.

tumblr unappreciation (tags) = hate mail/asks/discourse... perpetrator irrelevant.

Sansa/Jonsa antís (quotes); antis (text); some people are wrong tag (tag) = Sansa and/or Jonsa antís. We'll never agree on this, so here's your tag to block.

Tyri0n (quotes); Tyrat (text); the hooded hand (tag) = Tyri0n Lannister.

Tyrat Cult (text); hooded cult (tag) = Tyri0n stans.

The Lannister Trap (text); the lannister trap (tag) = Tyri0n/Sansa's forced marriage. I will never understand of how it became a legit ship, but here, block it.

Jokerys Lite (text); jokerys lite (tags) = J0nrya. Same for this ship.

Jokerii Lite (text); jokerii lite (tags) = J0nrya shippers. You know the drill by now, hopefully.

Unless the post is actively critical, I fail to see why I should censor Arya's name. I actually like her, even if I don't stan her. I'll be using her regular name in quotes; in text, I'll just refer to her as 'Ship Girl' and in tags, as 'sailor arya moon'. (For context, I made a joke about this a while back, but using the actual tag for Sailor M00n makes me worry about flooding their fandom tag, so just block this precise phrase, and we're golden.) If people still complain, I'll just refer to her as 'Ary@' in quotes.

Arya stans, however, will be referred to as Ship Girls (text) or ship girls (tag).

Hound (quotes and text); the hound (tag) = I think that's self-explanatory. Sand0r Clegane. I hate him, you hate me, let's not get into it more.

Hound Cult (text); hound cult (tag) = S@ns@n and its shippers. This whole thing is so irrelevant to canon I won't even bother differentiating between ship and shippers.

Creepyfinger (quotes); LF (text); creepyfinger (tag) = Littléfinger, or Pétyr Bælish; and the associated ship with Sansa and its shippers. See 'Hound Cult'

Ygrette (quotes); Y (text); the free woman (tag) = Ygrítte and Jon/Ygrítte. Your ship is already dead, don't come at me.

Ratgar (quotes); The Rat (text); the musical rat (tag) = Rhægar Targaryén.

Lyann@ (quotes); L/Ly@ (text); the stolen rose (tag) = Lyann@.

RatLya (text); rat cult (tag) = Rhægar/Lyann@ and its fans.

The show (quotes & text), the mistake (tag) = the show by D&D.

I also see no reason to censor Bran. For clarity's sake, all posts concerning him are tagged 'king bran'.

I think I covered everything. If someone wants something added, or I decide I talk shit about something often enough that it warrants an entry here, I'll edit the post. I hope this works in the future, if not, I am willing to change more. Let's just stay out of another's way and be happier for it.

the whole point of the Kingsguard is that they’re unbelievably fucking washed like zero heroic deeds on the board just morning noon night overtime fraud aura farming. right after finding out about the red wedding jon has a flashback to a childhood memory that makes him so angry that he blacks out and starts beating the shit out of the guy he’s supposed to be training. he later has a dream where he screams that he’s the lord of winterfell before proceeding to behead robb with his sword. but despite all of this, everyone in the fandom seems to understand that jon loves his brother, that he grieves his death, that sometimes we still harbor resentment towards the people we love (yes, even when they die). somehow everyone in the fandom seems to understand that jon and robb’s relationship is influenced by the adults around them as well as larger social systems that seek to pit them against each other and make them compete to survive because the world has told them that they’re not allowed to coexist, that one of them is wrong. somehow everyone in the fandom seems to understand this without turning either jon or robb into villains and painting their relationship as irredeemable.

yet when sansa reflects on her relationship with arya (who she thinks is dead) with similar resentment, when she thinks back to how she and arya never understood each other and could never be the sister the other wanted…somehow that means that sansa hates her dead sister and that they’re incapable of ever reconciling and healing. it’s weird how sisterhood never gets to be as complex and messy and loving as brotherhood. it’s weird how it’s either “sansa and arya are going to forget all about their shared trauma and hold hands and braid each other’s hair because they’re just girls 🥰” or it’s “sansa and arya are going to hate each other and never be close so there’s no value in them even reuniting” as if there’s no room for middle ground or nuance or complexity. it’s so boring and reductive like just say that you don’t care to engage with their relationship or the gender politics surrounding it when you can’t squeeze it into a neat little box. we have one single sisterhood among the starklings, and there’s just much going on with them as there is with any of the stark brotherhoods or brother-sister relationships (especially considering that we spend more time with sansa and arya on-page than we do with any other starkling relationship). if you can understand how love and resentment can coexist between jon and robb, how larger social systems can fracture relationships, then surely you can extend the same understanding to sansa and arya! but of course that would require people to engage with female characters with the same level of empathy and compassion that they give to male characters. bit of a challenge for some people.

It’s the way grrm writes in patterns and I’m pretty sure how he views Val vs gilly(wildling women) is going to be showcased more intensely with Alys vs jeyne(noble women who runaway from abusive marriages who he thought was his sister) and ik he’s not gonna treat jeyne well yet the fandom being blind to Jon’s bubbling flaws not just he has bad moments in his leadership arc I mean actual human flaws ,constantly:

genuingly think that the reason fans can forgive jon's sins earlier in the novel vs sansa bearing the world's evil on her shoulders and ppl never letting up despite her growth/seeing the world out of her bubble/wanting to survive and seeing her as multi faceted isnt only because he's a guy and something something misogyny but because Sansa hurts/clashes with named characters the audience puts much more focus on and her actions have a lot more consequences that she sees and affects her, Jon is allowed to fast pace his growth and reality checking over his snobbish behaviour over the night's watch because the nightswatch arent ppl that we immediately insert ourselves into, most of the audience agrees with his woe is me-isms at the start of the novels and he is generally much better morally than 70% of the ppl there so we cheer for him climbing the ranks and trying to do good but when you do read Sam's chapters and you do start seeing a shift in AFFC/ADWD where he is clearly changing into "i have to be a leader, i can kinda do whatever i want" type "im getting fucked up dreams and flashbacks over my wants and desires" and his clear treatment of Gilly vs Val, him icing out and separating his friends as subjects, him being much more selfish in involving the night'swatch in his war and how that's in an opposite convo with Theon's arc about losing everything while caring and risking it all for jeyne its like clearly he's not going in better territory!! he's going to be an asshole to characters we like/power hungry more so than ever and frankly thats more interesting to me than every person that he gets mad/goes against is conveniently the worst person ever, even tho i think bolton massacre is based as i am not immune to the rule of cool but what about the ppl that generally had nothing to do with that shit?what about Walda? I wish ppl would actually talk about Dark jon with more depth!! im just yapping uncontrollably but still its the truth

I forgot Jon is holding 100 child hostages from the free folk so that’s also a test but knowing the narrative unless George is genuinely gonna say SOMETHING with him in twow nothing will come of this because its never really treated as a big deal due to notion of him already integrating with the wildlings he’s never truly gonna cross that bridge with Jon and moral dilemmas but it might spark the comparison between Jon holding hostages and decisions vs the constant question of “would Ned have truly killed Theon if the greyjoys caused problems?” The answer is yes
