Let me give you a hard dose of reality. I’m am on CPAP at night so that I don’t stop breathing in my sleep. I have really high cholesterol. I’m pre-diabetic. My blood pressure is extremely high and can only be controlled with some of the strongest and most expensive meds available. Those meds give me extremely painful muscle cramps, especially in the morning. Some of those meds are strong diuretics which give me bladder control issues, and I’ve had to get used to wearing incontinence garments because I have accidents (yes adult diapers, I’m not gonna get too embarrassed about it.). Until I started exercising and eating right I was tired all the time, moody, depressed, had little motivation and energy, I would sleep a lot, was sick a lot, constantly getting headaches, and I felt like shit. My doctor, who never sugar coats anything God bless her, told me that if I don’t do something I will have a heart attack, stroke, or congestive heart failure before the decade is over, and probably would be dead shortly after. As a medical professional myself, I know she is 100% right. I have the body of someone over 90 and I’m a little bit more than a quarter of the way through my life.
I admit vanity and narcissism is a big part of it, but I’m doing this to save my life, I don’t want to die young, AND THIS IS MY LAST CHANCE! I can’t afford to accept my body, because my body is shit and its all my fault. I forged these chains of my own free will and now I am wearing them. I have no one else to blame but myself, and the only thing I can do about it is take care of myself and fix the problem before it is too late.
