i no longer dedicate time and energy to making my blackness beautiful or trying to turn being black into something that fits a visually appealing aesthetic that will be easy on the eyes because i don’t think that’s something that i was interested in doing in the first place and the more time i dedicate to doing work that has to do with black girls, the more i realize that beauty is not something i want to concern myself with. I don’t want to do work that shows you just how beautiful black girls are or just how “deserving” black girls are because i don’t give a shit if you find black girls beautiful or not, in fact i don’t want to do work that aims to prove something to other people about black girls, i will never be interested in doing work for other people.

I’m tired of seeing work that is centralized around people trying to prove that black girls are worth it, like who cares anymore? I just came here to take mine and do what i want, to be honest, and let other black hos know that they can do that too without catering to whoever is watching, like the world is yours and you don’t have to prove anything to anybody because of your blackness. I know that we’ve said this a lot but the Take What is Yours movement is real as fuck and not to be played with.
