I remember when I drew this back in 2022 I was so proud of it bc of finally being able to draw anatomy well. I’ve been wanting to redraw it for a long time, but was worried about doing it badly, however I finally mustered the courage to. I think it was worth it :]

Rant, doodles, and a drabble under cut:
I know he canonically is referred to as a demigod but to me he is very much a full god. His primary domains are of the Sun and Life, contrasting Kirin who used to be the Moon (and the Sea as connected to the Moon), Death, and Storms, however Angor and Bedgar later took over the domains of Death and Sea respectively. Kirin is older than Ridge as gravity technically formed Minecraftia and the Moon as empty rocks before the gases of the sun actually bore a star.

Ridge’s control over Life probably is a cruel twist of fate for all Minecraftian citizens. After a few thousand years being a god is boring and one of the only ways to glean entertainment is watching mortal lives like reality TV. He’ll often choose mortals to give the power of Respawning to, aka the ability for one’s body to reform after death until at some point Permadeath happens (this is usually through old age or Ridge getting bored of someone and revoking respawning from them).
Ridge gets particularly interested in a group of mortals he’d already granted respawning abilties to (the Yogs) as they are far more interesting than most mortals of that era. This interest only increases when Xephos crashes on Minecraftia.
Xephos is like Ridge’s favorite pet, he doesn’t love him persay, but he’s the most interesting of them all because he’s so new. There’s a plotline I have where Ridge just keeps Xephos in his realm for a while under threat of hurting Lalna and Honeydew simply for that reason. He’s like a shiny, brand new toy. Ridge is fascinated by him, and quickly decides he doesn’t want to let Xephos, or any of the other Yogs, get out of this anytime soon.
So, when Xephos technically permadies due to injuries from the final battle with Israphel, Ridge retroactively gives him respawning abilities. Other planets like Xephos’ don’t have respawn capabilities so Xephos should have permadied, but Ridge revives him. It’s during this moment that Ridge implements Ridge’s Blessing, a guaranteed immortality for the Yogs, not just to respawn but to not age. He doesn’t tell anyone about this, so it’s even more tragic that YogLabs is created to try and circumvent permadeath by providing empty vessels for a soul to escape to in the case the body doesn’t reform, because in the end it was never necessary. (I base my cloning on how the clones worked in that one mod, where it’s a singular mind/soul that jumps between empty bodies not duplicates of the body and mind. You can’t clone consciousness without major complications *cough cough Lalnable*)
So that’s Ridge’s major plot in my timeline. Outside of this, I see him as a shapeshifter, one who often uses his size to intimidate people. He’ll form as 8-9 feet tall just to intimidate people, or make his realm just slightly bigger when mortals are visiting so they feel child-sized around him. (Here’s a concept piece I never finished of that):
Anyways, I’ll end this overly long rant w the drabble I wrote from Ridge’s perspective of the whole Ridge’s Blessing ordeal :]

He was small. Even if Ridge had been sized at a normal human height, Xephos still would have looked small. A slight, wiry frame and youthful features barely hidden behind his well-kept beard made him look much younger than Ridge could sense he was. Perhaps this was the reason he stood so stiffly and jutted his chin slightly as he addressed the god, to make up for his lack of material presence. Ridge felt an urge to allow himself to take his full form, just to see how the man would react to being trapped and squeezed in his hand, but he resisted. That could be saved for later, he mused.
Ridge internally raised an eyebrow as he zeroed in on Xephos’ face, not really listening to nor caring of what the man was saying. He was focused on his expression. His eyes were sharp and intelligent, narrowed defensively as he cautiously tried to puzzle out Ridge’s intentions.
But, most of all, he looked… defiant.
A smirk spread across his Ridge’s lips. No one had dared to show defiance against him in a many centuries. He’d grown quite bored of mortals groveling at his feet, whether genuine or just to keep themselves alive, and often yearned for the rare instances where someone would dare to stand up to him. Something that he could tease and play with, that would bite back with pressed instead of just rolling over and waiting for death. Just for a taste of something different.
And Xephos was completely unaware of who he was. He didn’t have anything to fear, at least in the realm of consequences on a deity’s scale. Ridge was at most a physical threat, and as even as they spoke now he could sense Xephos letting his guard down ever so slightly, growing less afraid, and more-so just confused.
Ridge grinned. This. This was different. This was interesting.
“Am I… dead?” Xephos asked him, and Ridge actually paused his internal musings to answer him.
“No,” Ridge replied honestly. Not anymore, anyway, he added to himself. No, Xephos was too interesting, too new for Ridge to let him slip away so quickly before he could truely play with him. Far be it from him to let someone else break one of his toys.
No, he would keep Xephos alive. Blessed- or cursed depending on how one saw it- with his own Blessing to not only be able to respawn, but never age or risk permadeath, though he didn’t need to know that. Ridge would personally absolve his soul from the god of death alongside his other favorite toys, at least until he grew bored of him.
