also first time drawing a xenomorph, im sorry she is a bit janky!! third time (fourth because theres two of her?) drawing Ripley and very annoyingly chose a shot where she kind of doesnt look lik herself to begin with? got more of a likeness in the side on one.

Kofi Launch

Hi all, I've started a Kofi! This has been a bit of a weird decision but I was asked a while back if there was any ways to support me that werent just redbubble. Ive always felt a bit uncomfortable with the idea and always just wanted to share my work. I've never actually made money on redubble, they have a minimum sales amount which in the uk was I think £20 but its recently gone down to £10 so who knows maybe i'll get a couple pennies on the next sticker!

But I am seriously considering opening commissions and I didnt know that Kofi had that function, particularly after the reception to the Willow painting I posted which I honestly didnt think would get that much attention! I also might be doing something similar with costume illustration wok down the line as finding work in costume has been difficult so far (to put it lightly)

Anyway watch this space while I figure out how I want commissions to work. In the mean time the Kofi is up (hopefully if ive done this right) so it's there if anyone wants to donate! which feels very weird for me to say lol. i'll be adding it to my pinned post and please also reach out if you'd be interested in commissions! would love to get the ball rolling and see if its a viable idea. i know no one cares but something I want everyone to remember is that bald men are ugly unless they are completely shaven headed and ultra masculine is a extremely modern invention. if you don’t believe me watch ER or star trek the next generation to see guys who are way past balding (but still have hair at the back/top) in the exact style that today we would be screaming “shave it off” at be considered desirable on screen. it’s not a trait I find personally attractive (although obviously irl im sure if I had the right connection with someone I would) but I know for a fact that’s personal preference/the society I grew up in because its so completely missing from all media made pre 2000. and there must be so so many examples of this from before we had tv shows and shit. this is an easy example to find once you get keyed into it but it also speaks to how quickly things can change! how many examples of this are there once you start noticing “hey why is everyone in this show trying to convince me this persons hot/not bug ugly” and maybe you should question why you have that assumption in the first place.

Not a question, just thought you’d be interested in this. Model of the HMS Erbus as she sits on the sea floor presently. Model built by survey pictures to assist site exploration. One of two stern cannons have been lifted out already at the wreck site.

Soft toy elephant named ‘Pumpie’, dressed as a sailor in an elegant dark blue woollen jacket with lots of brass buttons and matching trousers. not to give pirates of the caribbean too much credit but it really is the only major franchise Ive seen that was able to pull off the “historical and mythical exist at the same time” with any sort of success

#like how on land theyre in history but on sea theyre in mythology really communicates the wonder and love the #pirates have for the sea so much better than long soliloquies or good cinematography #and then the meta narrative is constantly indicating that the spread of empire and greed for money is driving it away #man……………………………………………………………….. (@liridi)
