Countdown Day 8!

Today's set of lyrics is for a song that serves as an intro to another: 'Twist of Fate'!

Fate and Destiny are twisting, turning subjects. On one hand, we can control our destiny. But on the other, we can't control our fate.

Destiny means there are opportunities to turn right or left, but fate is a one-way street. I believe we all have the choice as to whether we fulfil our destiny, but our fate is sealed.

Day seven of my little countdown!

Today's lyrics are for the seventh track, 'Isolated Soul'.

Everyone wants to be loved, but many feel they aren't worthy of it. Whether it's from deep-rooted childhood trauma, poor self image, or just toxic family, we sometimes feel we aren't worthy of it.

This song delves into the love between Ignis and Sebastian, and how Ignis wants to express that Sebastian is beautiful and deserving of the love he so desperately craves.

Anxiety plays a large part in our everyday lives, whether its about things beyond our control, what others think of us, or whether we're doing the right thing or not. Sometimes it's easy to tell if we're just overthinking. But sometimes it's not. It's hard to separate the truths from the lies in the world we live in today, and that's what this song speaks about.

Distance. Feelings. Memories.

Sometimes hanging on is harder and more hurtful than letting go.

Day five of counting down to the release of my first book! So, today's lyrics are for the song 'Forgiveness'.

The saying for forgiveness goes as such: "To err is human; to forgive, divine."

Forgiving someone for something they've done is a concept many people struggle with. I personally don't believe that all things are worthy of forgiveness, but we are all individuals on this path we all walk. We all follow our hearts, and forgiveness is an act of the heart. But how can we separate our hearts from our heads?

Day 4 of our countdown to the release of 'Kingdom of Cards' Volume 1!

In the story, 'Run' covers a topic deeply connected to Ignis and his bloodline. While he hides from the world in shame of what his family has done, he can never hide from the truth they were wicked, cruel, and power-mad.

His is an existence of painful duality -- stay hidden and keep the world safe, or help his friends achieve their dreams and risk bringing them to ruin when the inevitable comes after him for revenge.

Day three in the countdown to the release of 'Kingdom of Cards' volume 1! And that means the lyrics for track 3 on Amulet's album: RUMORS.

I believe it's said best by the lyrics of 'Rumors' from one of my favorite bands, Poets of the Fall:

"Rumors seduce like fire Seducing illusions driving the chariot of hearts astray".

Rumors swirl around the family of Ignis all throughout the series, though none know the truth save for Ignis himself. And as such, rumors fly. Assumptions are made. And it's never anything good.

Today’s lyrics are from Amulet’s second song, ‘The Fate of Broken Oaths’. It’s heavily inspired by the dark rhythms of ‘The Death of Peace of Mind’ by Bad Omens.

Fate is a big thing that many people think about. Do we really have free will? Are we just on a conveyor, unable to change direction? Are our plans really our own, or are they programmed into our head?

My book series as a whole deals with Fate as a major theme, and this song is about those in the story’s past who defied the Path set before them and sought to bring about ruin and death where they should have only brought creation and knowledge.

My first book, 'Kingdom of Cards' Volume 1, releases January 13, 2023! I started the countdown yesterday, but I'll post the lyrics here, too :P

Yesterday's set of lyrics was 'The Beginning'. And what a way to kick off the countdown!

Inspired by my very first concert down in Hunstville, Alabama (In This Moment supported by my favorite band in the world, Bad Omens) the band's first song takes heavy inspiration from Maria Brink's (from @inthismomentofficial ) haunting vocals on her own song titled 'The Beginning (Interlude)'.

Let this first day of the new year be a joyous one, and let the creativity flow!
