UPDATE

Okay so it’s been a while.. the past few weeks of settling in to school have been insane but I’m finally in some kind of routine so that’s good! I’m on top of (most) my work, I’m in a committee and loving it, I have friends and I’m managing to socialise on the regular and study lots! Everything so far is going well! I have some bad days, but they are quickly replaced with multiple good days and the sheer amount of work I have is keeping me well occupied..

Hope everyone has enjoyed the first month of school!

Cute little reminder post it not stuck on my window! (sorry it's messy I did it quickly) This weekend is hectic at the minute as i have so much work to catch up on! But as of right now, I am fully up to date with typing up my notes after class for ½ of my subjects and have started typing up for the other ½!

procrastinate

turn things in late

copy homework

cheat

get stressed

memorize information simply to pass a test

hate a subject/topic

dislike school

don’t do homework if we know it won’t be checked

don’t read the textbook

skip on making notes

don’t pay attention in class

get bad grades

skip schoolwork to hangout with friends

put school second

find ways around doing the homework

look for answers online         

because you know what? we do. we’re not perfect, we mess up, we make mistakes. but that doesn’t make us any less of a person. you’re allowed to be imperfect.

Wilko is great or tbh any major supermarket (Tesco, ASDA etc) will have their own stationery section and they sell notebooks and refill pads pretty cheap

very productive morning of typing up some chemsitry unit 1 notes from my textbook! I’m hoping to get the basic understanding of the unit down before lessons start so that in class it’s more of a review than learning it from scratch!

《02/09/17》 So I start college on Tuesday for the first time. I’m doing a btec performing arts course instead of A-levels because I love performing and I struggle in exam situations. In other words I’m not exactly the smartest person so exams stress me out and I do better in course work.

I thought I’d start a tumblr as a blog to share my thoughts, and life through out the year or years who knows. Even though people most probably won’t read this I’m going to tell you all a bit about myself anyway… I’m 16 and from Great Britain. I love dancing, acting and photography.

Well that’s basically me.

I keep reorganising my desk as I get new furniture or stationery but that’s okay because it’s still a working progress! (Apologises for the quality of my photos, my camera arrives in a week or so)

SEPTEMBER 1st 2017 - NEW ACADEMIC YEAR

Okay so, for a lot of us studyblr accounts, September can feel more like a new year than January! So I’m gonna set some ‘new year resolutions’ because I think some goals will benefit me.

NEW ACADEMIC YEAR, NEW ACADEMIC ME

1. Stay On Top Of Assignments - whenever possible, start the assignment on the night that it is set

2. Use! A! Planner! - I am terrible at this, I always start using a diary / planner and give up but I’ve stayed motivated for the past two weeks and I’m hoping it will help me remain organised with all the deadlines coming up

3. Tidy Space Tidy Mind - whilst I don’t always agree with this, as it’s very possible to get a lot of work done in a messy environment, I would LOVE to keep my room and desk as tidy as possible so I’m setting a goal to tidy up as I go along and make my bed every single morning!

4. Stay Ahead - I’m not saying I’m going to be on unit 4 at home before we even start unit 2 in school, but I would like to stick to pre-reading material before the class starts so that I can have a better understanding when I am learning

5. Be Consistent - the key to good grades is consistent studying in my opinion. When I’ve got my timetable and I’m in a routine, I’ll set a schedule of a certain amount of studying every night to commit my notes to long term memory, as an alternative to cramming before exams!

Sorry for the extra long post today, if you’ve made it this far, you’re amazing! I hope everyone begins this academic year with a positive attitude and sees the success they deserve.

had a very successful orientation today, looking forward to starting the IB!

Catching up on some pre-IB biology work too, I have 6 days left until school starts so I’ve allocated a day per subject to do some reading, questions etc… so I feel prepared!

I also organised my folders and made some very quick DIY folder tags, literally used Word and my favourite font but I like how they came out :)
