Bio: Professor Khan Buckeye is world’s greatest Treasure Hunter. A Pokémon who shines in the daylight and blends into shadow at night, Professor Buckeye runs the Treasure Hunting Academy, a diverse but closely-connected group of rescuers, explorers, and vigilantes. Built in the memory of Pokémon loved and lost, the Academy’s mission statement is to open Itori up to a brand new world while leaving a better one behind wherever they travel. Across any land, above any cloud, below any sea, there is nowhere a Treasure Hunter will be too afraid to venture!

Except for Ruby Forest, a day’s walk to the north. Any Treasure Hunter found near its border will be excommunicated on the spot, no ifs, no buts, no exceptions. So when one of Khan’s most obedient students is spotted travelling north with the strange Charmander from who knows where, Khan must break his own sacred vow in a desperate attempt to get them out. Because as he sees it, there’s only one alternative to escaping from Ruby Forest…

Hardy. Intellegent. Strong. In private, he sees himself as a hard-hearted, detached person. If only life was so simple.

Bio: Tobias is the lone ranger of the Treasure Hunter’s Academy. A pariah amongst the Pokémon he looks up to, the last member of a disbanded Team; the sole member of Team Goldenrod lives alone in a hovel on the beach, with no one by the Krabby scuttling across the cliff wall for company. When rumours surface of an injured Pokémon wandering alone in Oran Berry Cave. He abandons a mission to find a Charmander half-dead on the floor.

Timid, ambitious, and imbedded with a strong sense of justice. But, behind that mask of stoic complacency, utterly alone. Underneath good intentions and a compassionate heart is a secret desire to insert himself into this stranger’s life, and he’ll unknowingly become tangled in a conflict that will put force him to put his life on the line, along with the only two things he has left to live for. The Treasure Hunters, and Alex.

He joins Tobias, a Treasure Hunter, to become the second member of Team Goldenrod, a vigilante justice group bringing peace to the Kingdom of Itori. As each mission proves more deadly than the last, more and more of Alex’s knowledge and inner strength come to the surface, yet memories of his past stay hidden, as if they were never there at all.

Brave, protective, sharp-minded, and a little loud-mouthed, Alex develops his sense of justice and his sense of loyalty from his time with Tobias and the Treasure Hunters. But those values will placed under brutal scrutiny when he finally meets someone who can give him the answers he’s looking for, because those answers come with a mission attached…
