Hamlet adaptation where Hamlet is a vlogger and all his soliloquies are breakdowns he uploads to YouTube
… I am unironically here for this
this is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life
This is - legitimately - my favourite delivery of Shakespeare I have EVER seen (and I have seen some good-ass productions yo, in the Globe Theatre itself even). Like seriously, even though the words are unchanged, he’s stripped away ALL of the archaic pretense and assumed grandeur of ~presenting the bard~ that makes even the most wildly talented of actors and innovative of productions inherently inaccessible to a modern audience. Like, they’re still great, they can still communicate the message and (some) of the nuance, but they’re still always a step removed from being identifiable to any viewer’s lived experience. They’re still always reciting 15th century poetry. But this guy? This guy is like, screw iambic pentameter, to hell with being precious about the material, HOW WOULD AN ACTUAL PERSON SAY THIS SHIT?
Like this. And it’s beautiful. It’s beautiful to hear a soliloquy I loved so much already, and have it come to life in a way it never, ever, did before. I feel like I grasp his motivations, his twists and turns, no longer on an academic level but on a visceral, instinctive one. Because he’s presenting his mental and emotional journey in a way that speaks honestly, like a real person.
So yeah, this shit post? I love it. Deeply and sincerely.
A post about this went round recently, and I’m delighted to announce she’s since come out as trans and goes by Jasmine 🏳️⚧️
Actor and Writer
There’s a whole series of the Hamlet videos on her YouTube, as well as a bunch of other films she’s made
I went to Paul McCartney’s daughter Stella’s party and who should open the door but the man himself. He was dead cool. There were all these questions I wanted to ask him but I settled on, ‘Do you watch Brookside?’
^ noel, on a party he went to in 1994, though i haven’t been able to find a date for the quote itself
[Brookside] experienced an extreme backlash from viewers in 1996 following a hugely controversial storyline focusing on an incestuous sexual relationship between two siblings; from thereon the show became synonymous with outrageous and improbable storylines that affected its popularity.
^ wikipedia
most of the backlash was in august 1996, particularly the first week of august; it seems that, while the whole storyline was controversial, episode #1758, which aired on the night of 2 august 1996—that is, the night before loch lomond—was especially so (probably because its content was more explicit about the sexual relationship between the siblings, but i’ll look into it some more.)

ok NEW TAKE: ruben symbolically married niall at the wedding
wore the traditional black of a groom
nodded yes at the altar while locking eyes with niall
said his vows at the reception
murder-fucked niall to consumate the marriage
death parted them but briefly
half man ending in the late 2010s is crazy because you know for a fact people in universe are immediately making and posting shit like this
my stance on the trans athlete debate is always and forever going to be that sports should be completely desegregated because humans have one of the smallest levels of sexual dimorphism in the animal kingdom and the disparity we see between male and female performance is entirely caused by social factors rather than anything biological. “should trans women compete against cis women” i think cis men and cis women could compete fairly but that’s apparently a little too spicy for people to wrap their minds around bc they’ve been told their whole lives women are biologically inferior & never thought to question that. or wonder if it’s maybe a self fulfilling prophecy of some kind. are women biologically inferior or do they appear so because patriarchy demands that of us?
when an artist draws fem versions of male characters but makes them skinnier smaller and less muscular................im not saying this is illegal but when their heart will be put on a scale it ain't gonna be lighter than a feather

And what if rap WAS only about sex, violence, and drugs... what then? Would you be justified in looking down upon it as not being "real" art? What would your justification be? Sex is immoral and taboo? Drugs should never be mentioned outside of D.A.R.E programs? Songs about violence turn children to it? Would you turn that standard to other genres as well? I know you wouldn't, I know you haven't, because it's never really been about the topics explored.
Radical Feminism, as a specific theory and branch of feminism, is harmful and counterproductive to the overall goals of feminism.
“Radical Feminism” in this context isn’t just any feminism that might be seen as radical by society. It’s a specific ideology/branch/theory of feminism that is defined by the belief that misogyny /the oppression of women is the most fundamental and oldest type of oppression. “Radical” in this context refers to the Latin prefix “rad” which means “root”. I’m going to start referring to this as “radfeminism” as many radfems use the confusion between the colloquial term “radical” and the title of a specific branch of theory to equate radfeminism with feminism in general.
It is impossible to believe this and fully give space for theories and analysis of other forms of oppression. It is impossible to believe this and fully recognize the experiences of marginalized men. It is impossible to believe this and fully support all trans people, because even “trans inclusive” radfeminism ends up policing trans people and requiring all trans people define their experiences in certain ways. It almost always circles back to some kind of gender or sex essentialism.
These failures have not only hurt many marginalized people trying to participate in feminism, but also put feminism as a movement behind by limiting the ability of feminisms to craft nuanced theory and make allies in marginalized men and activists focusing on other types of oppression.
It’s time to leave Radical Feminism / radfeminism behind. It’s time to be active in critiquing radfeminism as a theory/idea. It’s the only way for feminism as a movement for true gender equality and liberation from gender roles to move forward.
A moment of silence for the trans men who, due to their assigned gender at birth, have been legally banned from speaking in public in areas under Taliban rule.
A moment of silence for the trans men who, due to their assigned gender at birth and religious backgrounds, have been taught that they are forbidden from being anything but broodmares to a man they may or may not consent to marriage or sex with.
A moment of silence for the trans men who died in childbirth from a pregnancy they may or may not have consented to.
A moment of silence for the trans men who dropped out of high school after getting pregnant.
A moment of silence for the trans men who only knew their desire for masculinity, but were beaten to death for it and told they were going to hell.
A moment of silence for the trans men who had their clitorises mutilated by female genital mutilation.
A moment of silence for the trans men who died without ever once getting to wear pants or cut their hair the way they wanted.
A moment of silence for the trans men who committed suicide rather than be seen as a woman anymore.
A moment of silence for the trans men who never were allowed to learn how to read.
A moment of silence for the trans men with perfectly treatable conditions who were allowed to die to avoid violating "modesty" rules.
A moment of silence for the trans men subjected to honor killings.
A moment of silence for the trans men who were murdered by abusive partners.
A moment of silence for the trans men who were subject to "hymen checks."
We remember all of you, past and present.
did you know literally *everyone* is raised racist. like by society at minumum, if not specifically by their parents. if you aren't constantly questioning the prejucides around and inside of YOU, yes even you, then you aren't taking enough action in your daily life to be a traitor to the state of white supremacy.
happy pride
