"Sorry? Laney for what? What’d you do?" Hunter could feel his patience wearing thin, the last thing he wanted was to shout at his friend. His only friend. "Laney, you know I’m not good at this — just tell me what the fuck is going on!” He snapped quietly, crossing his arms over his chest in agitation. He’d never been patient, even as a child he hated to wait — more so when other’s couldn’t speak what was on their minds.
Her heart pounded faster and faster in her chest. Her nails dug into her knees and finally she burst out, cutting off Hunter. "I'm pregnant." Laney felt the words slip off her tongue and linger in the cold, quiet room. The words seemed to hang in the air. Two words with so much behind them. Her eyes continued to stay shut.
