July 31, 2020 | The 21st trade already?!

I find it interesting that I’m completing my 21 consecutive wins challenge at the end of the month, and I started at the beginning of the month! Wah 21 days already, this challenge definitely helped prove my analysis and my skills, and strengthened my psychology. Thank you to Sensei, and my sub-mentors for all the support!

What a journey! My goal really was consistency. This has been my goal since I started my trading journey and somehow I haven’t managed to really implement in practice. Perhaps its this time that we all have to work on ourselves, perhaps its all the other practices that I’ve been incorporating in my life, perhaps the stars are aligning in other ways that I don’t fully comprehend. 

As always, I am grateful. I feel like this really is the time, the time when this part of my journey is truly starting. I am excited, I am grateful, I am hopeful and I am inspired.

This is a bit of a funky day, in my observation its shaping to be a ranging day and decided to pause and observe. One of my reflections was that I really preferred a relaxed trade than a twitchy stressful day. Another is that I want to keep my harvests than lose it.

In the first half of the day, seems from my analysis that the retracements have been fulfilled and was safe to pursue a buy. I also have a tendency to be more comfortable with buys when I’ve been doing that consecutively from the past days. One of the things I’m really trying to bring into my psychology is to break free of these unnecessary patterns. Detachment is a journey.

On days where I question my analysis, I prefer to pause and watch instead of jumping in and attempting a trade. One of my reflections is that I really prefer a relaxed trade than twitching with stress the whole day. Can anybody relate?

There was initially in the day, a strong indication of a price being caught in a range. As I observed, the retracements have been fulfilled in the earlier half of the trading day, and acting on a buy analysis is pretty safe. I have a tendency to seek out buys when consistently for the past days that’s what I’ve been doing. Something I’ve been working on in my awareness to release myself from these patterns. Detachment is a journey.

July 28, 2020 | Overexcited

This trading day is really giving quite a bit, and I have to admit I was a bit overexcited with this trade. I closed earlier than my TP because: 

- For one, I really dislike having an open trade when I turn in for the day

- It’s also end of trading day which I prefer not to trade in

- I’ve actually completed my goal for the day

So being mindful that there is a potential for a ranging move as part of data consolidation, I preferred to go to sleep with a relaxed mind.

This was another quick one! A bit late in actually, and caught the gap midway. In my journey to honing my skills and trusting my analysis, I’ve decided especially with the goal of 21 consecutive wins to trust my foundations and go for it.

July 28, 2020 | A bit of an unsure day

Might seem confusing but this is a new trading day for me. I haven’t been able to open my chart earlier, but as soon as I did - voila! There’s an easy gap saying hello!

Was a bit counterintuitive with some mixed signals, but I stuck to the simplest of my understandings and caught the gap. There were some big moves happening potentially indicating a start of a ranging move, but the general compass seems to hold.

July 28, 2020 | A quick win

Now this was really quick, can’t even see the marker on the chart! Opened and closed within a couple of minutes! Saw the gap, captured and off to rest for the day. This relaxed way of trading is essentially what I’m working towards.

July 27, 2020 |  Oh Mondays

Who else is a bit nervous trading on Mondays? Consolidations and many other data that I have no control over or full understanding of. I would prefer to pause and watch, especially in this case where I’m still waiting for a return to home before the price flies away again. However, I am in the midst of re-testing my understanding, my foundations and practicing consistency with my daily goals so I followed my analysis. Worked out well! Other than profit, I’m building my experience and confidence. Now that latter item there is more valuable :)

July 24, 2020 | A Steady Climb

These are trending days that I would call “when the stars are aligned” :) It was a good day, I woke up beautifully, and as soon as I opened my chart, the gap was clear and precise. A very relaxed trade Thank you!

July 23, 2020 | A late trade

I’ve pretty much missed most of the day. With other commitments for the day, and the time zone I’m working in, I again am trading end-of-day which is not my preference. With the reminder (to myself!) that my end goal is consistency and not the biggest daily harvests, I keep to my analysis and trade the closest gap.

July 22, 2020 | This is getting exciting

This momentum is really testing my discipline! I see many gaps and opportunities to trade but as part of my re-training, I’ve made a pact with myself to maintain consistency. To me that means: instead of prioritizing big singular harvests, consistency is key. Time to keep focused!

With this momentum, based on my backtest, the fulfillment of immediate gaps will be fulfilled quite quickly. Another end-of-day trade, but this clear bullish move supports my analysis - so all clear!

Bullish moves like this are quite exciting and this singular candle that fulfilled my trade is an indicator of a strong trajectory. I find that there is much more discipline and analysis required during ranging days, and clear bullish or bearish moves are like rest days. And definitely yay days!

Looking at the chart overall the price is moving outside of the range and is at the beginning of a bullish trend. In this case, since I am re-learning and being very mindful of my discipline, my trade closed at the safest gap that I could find. Maintaining this practice is really helping with my consistency, which is at best my end goal

I usually prefer not to trade end of day. I find that there are too many variables that can come in to play. In this case, as I was polishing my foundations, I followed my analysis of activation and gaps. Although this trade fulfilled longer than I preferred, I am grateful that I’ve retested my understanding, and learned something new.

My overall understanding of this day is a generally bullish trajectory, but was able to sneak in a solid sell due to a previous backtest. Interesting couple of days we’ve had here.
